I owe my neighbour heartfelt thanks for absolutely forcing me to listen to this audiobook while driving to and from work.
I would give it 5 stars if Gerda did not have a tendency to veer too far away from the story and discuss philosophical theories. I mean, they are interesting to a point, but she takes it too far.

Here are some of my comments:

10 Jan:
Gerda is making me depressed. Very hard work listening to her. Bloody going on about night trains as a simile for sleeping. Will try and persevere.

17 Jan:
A little bit more interesting, getting in to the story.
David had an accident with a cow. Love and fear go hand in hand and sometimes life dishes out things you are not prepared to deal with.

18 Jan:
Gerda talks about feeling lusty at an older age. Cannot compute.
Gerda is one horny bitch. Do not recognize myself. Is that my future?

21 Jan:
Very annoyed with Peje who just stomps in to Gerda's kitchen with muddy boots.
Love Gerda now.

2 Feb:
Gerda picks hairs from her customers chins. They never stop growing - not a happy thought.

8 Feb:
Bloody Alice and her bloody heir in the womb!

12 Feb:
Good ending.
Miss Gerda now
