This drives me crazy where is the rest of the book, this is a short story not a book. And it ends just as it's getting good I want to read her whole experience because it was so good. Not be cut off in the first third of the danged book.

A Single Chapter

I didn't exoect this to end where it did. This is a chapter, not a book. I don't think "serial" is fitting. I coukd see it published on a magazine or maybe Kindle Vella, but not as an ebook.
What happens isn't even enough to encourage further reading. Sure you get a look at a world where lycanthropy is a disease and werewolves are locked away on prison-like reservations. For soneone into more serious and politically themed reading, it might be interesting, but I personally lost interest when it was over.

A background box

This book is more of a building block leading you to the actual story. Loved how different the views of each character were so far. Looking forward to the next book.

Good but way to short

I rated this book at three stars because I liked the story. However, I didn't like that it seemed like it wasn't even really a book. It was a chapter to a much longer book.

I knew it would be short (only the first part), so at least it was an interesting take on werewolves in this society.

Omg, I can’t believe this!! I feel like I’ve been cheated. I love this story, but the cliffhanger totally caught me off guard. I must say I was hook from the start.

It's almost a documentary on a prison. I didn't find anything good in it.

For a short story it was ok. I'm still intrigued by the idea of werewolf detention centers/reservations, nice twist on an old theme. I'm not sure yet if I'll get all the other 'pages' though, will have to toy with the idea of spending 5 bucks for basically a few chapters of what could prove to be a worthwhile venture. Yea, I know, 5 bucks isn't a whole lot especially since the first tease was free, but at just a few chapters at a time all separated, I'd rather have a full set to devour in one swoop than just some teasers loaded into my ereader that I then have to find the order of reading so I don't read one out of order and end up wondering where I am.

The story opens with a reporter being brought into a detention center for werewolves so she can write a story about the life of werewolves and what happens to them in a world where being a werewolf is considered a disease.

Though the author has an interesting concept, I found myself getting bored with too much detail spend on the mundane. The work is filled with grammatical issues and some are quite distracting. Tough I enjoyed the concept, as it was quite creative, I was underwhelmed with the delivery.

This "book" is part of a serial story. It is well written and interesting. I like the character development and I am intrigued by the direction that it's going. However I am not sold on the serial concept and this story isn't going to do it. It's not powerful enough to draw me back for another installment. Nor is it good enough for me to pay 2.99 per chapter to read. If at some point I can get the entire story at a reasonable price, I might be interested but I won't be following this series further.

Taya Raveen is a journalist trying to advance her career by doing a story on the Blackfoot Werewolf Reservation, a government operated safe haven for werewolves. With this story she hopes to get the werewolves point of view. Although the book is short (only 198 pages on kindle) it has alot of informaiton, about pack life, living in the reservation, and also about getting turned into a werewolf. When I got to the end it made me curious on what happens next in the next book, a week with werewolves.

I got this one as free book from All Romance ebooks...where they do NOT tell you that it is the first of a serial. GRRRR!!!!!!
I never want to read a serial series. I always wait til it comes out in a single edition. And if it doesn't, then too bad for the author and publisher. I won't get it.

That being said, it is an interesting new take on werewolves and I am interested in finding out the rest of the story...eventually. *sigh*

I thought it was too short and the title misleads you. Instead of a month it was only a couple days.

Aside from my frustration that it is really so short and leaves you hanging, it wasn't bad. But if all segments are like this, unlikely to read more since it would be to expensive.

Great concept but woefully undeveloped thanks to the fact you have to buy the best bit to even get the second interview.

The Whole point of starting a series with a novella is to get you reader excited and make them want to read more. I have no desire to continue reading. The only positive I can say is that the world has been created. Matthew created a new world with new rules but beyond that I don't know where this thing is going, what genre its in or if its something I would want to read. I have no desire to rush out and get the next installment.

This story has potential. I've said this before, but I can't stand when authors try to take advantage of the reader. I get everyone wants money but still. By this I mean, they put out a free short story. Only the reader finds out that it's actually a series, meaning all the rest of the (extremely) short stories will be costing some $$. In this case, why would I pay to read a few pages? Sorry but no.

Two-sided story

I really liked this book, it made me eager for lots more. I can't wait to get the next one. Taya seems to be experiencing both sides of this story. Tanya is a reporter who goes into the werewolves world, how life is for them. She refers the reservation as a prison made by the government, jumpsuits, food , and all. Alpha, Beta, and Omega she wants to know everything, but will it lead her into trouble with the others when it comes to her report?

I really liked this as it is a good start to the series as it obviously gives you the basis on the characters and plot. Taya wants to further her journalist career by doing something not done before by going into a werewolf reservation which is government run, with a new detainee she gets to follow through the process and learn first hand documenting what goes on in there. These are short reads and this one ends on a cliff hanger and does get your attention.

I downloaded A Month with Werewolves as part of a free Anthology- With Werewolves box set- from Amazon. A strange, yet interesting twist on the werewolf genre. The writer created a world in which werewolves are held on prison-like reservations, emphasizing the politics of fighting for their place in the hierarchy. While I wasn't fully on board for many of the things that happened in the book, I was enthralled and couldn't stop turning pages

A fantastic look on a werewolf story, and so very different. I dont want to spoil it so just take a chance and read this. It demonstrates a different approach on writing such a popular topic, it's very refreshing almost not to read a different version of the same thing. It is utterly unique and interesting. Its left me really wanting to read more. x

A unique take on werewolves - the government has imprisoned all captured wolves on reservations/prisons throughout the United States. A reporter decides to spend a month in a reservation to observe the werewolves. Very good story. My only complaint is the abrupt ending. I am intrigued enough to continue with the rest of the series.

DNF: Unfortunately this was not my kind of book even though the blurb seemed to say it was.
I know the main character is a journalist but I expected it to read less like a newspaper report of dry uninteresting facts than it actually did.

I like that Taya is out writing a story but I just really couldn't seem to get into this book. I hate how they are treating everyone that can turn into a werewolf. It is like they are being punished for being different. I don't know if I will read the rest of this series or not.
