Short, some thought provoking ideas, the best one being that life is neither about accumulating wealth or slaving over one's children to the absense of self care but rather to create in its many different venues. Maybe not that original but it struck me as so.

I read it too long ago to write anything defensible about it and, to be sure, it will be rather dated in many ways. Still, given that it’s Parkinson, it illustrates clearly some important ideas and give a sense of our Euro-American culture at the time it was written and published.

Sexist in a tone-deaf manner. At times very boring. A bit insightful and funny in parts.
