I just got a souscription to Big Science Ideas (french version) and this is the first volume in the collection.
There is a lot of information about Einstein's life, which is great, because I learned a lot of things I didn't knew before, especially about his childhood and family life. But the issue is that the math behind his equations it's not well explained, the authors focus too much on providing many details about restreint relativity, which in my opinion is the easiest to understand, even without showing the math, but fail to describe how general relativity equations are really obtained. I have a physics background, I don't remember the math, because I've graduated almost 15 years ago, so I was hoping this book will remind me, but no. I understand the meaning of the equations, but for me the journey to reach them was more fascinating. Anyway, this book is good if you already have some physics and math basics, otherwise you'll feel a bit lost or dumb when it come to reading the formulas, but it's still a good insight in the concept of relativity and Einstein's life.
