Inside Out is a fast-paced, timely thriller that marries money, murder, and politics. Jeremy Lyons—resourceful, unimaginably wealthy, and completely amoral—re-emerges with a vengeance after his sudden retirement from the hedge fund industry to exploit another system: the lucrative world of U.S. politics. Reinforcing his mantra that the end justifies the means, the calculating Lyons catapults himself into Florida’s senatorial race. Television appearances cast Lyons as an independent crusader for fiscal responsibility and a champion of the people. As he blasts politicians from both sides of the aisle, his popularity soars. Not content with merely achieving political dominance, Lyons simultaneously ensnares Wall Street veteran Mac McGregor in his sadistic games. Only McGregor and a few trusted friends know the endless depth of Lyons’s depravity and the body count left in his wake. Every step of Lyons’s relentless climb to power is choreographed, but if McGregor forces a misstep—it could be deadly!
Combining Washington politics, financial street smarts, and an intricately woven thriller, this book clearly elevates the series. It delivers a similar perverse enjoyment and uncomfortable feeling to Netflix's brilliant "House of Cards". It may make you queasy while watching it play out, but you have to see how it ends!
It's worth noting from the author's FaceBook: as a veteran and a concerned citizen, the author is committing proceeds from the book to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
Really enjoyed this second book from Marvin McIntyre. Always like a novel that is face paced yet gives one something new to learn. Definitely recommend, but read first book first.
