“Uff Ye Emotions” Perhaps, emotions are the most beautiful things in the world which cannot be seen or even touched. Interestingly, they can only be felt with the heart. Love is the purest and primary among them with it’s various shades. We all have our own definitions of this magical word, but, it’s beyond explanation. It is always around us. The very existence of this beautiful universe is founded on love only.
Love has been the most talked about subject since ages and has always come to us through stories and became a part of us. Almost each of us has experienced the magic of this emotion in one form or other in our lives.
“Uff Ye Emotions” is trying to recapture the magic of love through 12 beautiful award winning stories which were selected after a nation-wide contest..
Stories in this anthology are soaked with intense emotions: Adoration, affection, love, friendship, fondness, attraction, caring, compassion, sentimentality, desire, lust, passion, longing, infatuation, envy, jealousy etc. which truly complete our lives. Love stories from diverse age groups, from different corners of the country and containing different shades of love.
Selected and edited by Vinit K. Bansal, this anthology will certainly enthrall readers and will make them feel the tenderness of this magical thing, called love.

Finally, I am done reading "Uff Ye Emotions"- An Anthology published by Mahaveer Publishers. This is the first time when I have read an anthology in which various authors have contributed rather than just one. Before this, I have experienced the same while reading Chicken Soup series which has short stories on a basic theme from various different authors. But 206-pages anthology- Uff Ye Emotions has been a totally new concept in which every love story is of 5000 words each by 11 different authors. The good part about the book is that it has the names which are already famous among the category of people who are accustomed with Blogs on Internet portal. The free service by Bloggers are always appreciated as they come up with creative stuffs every week and entertain the masses. No one has to pay to read the stories and articles. They just need to click the blog link.
Vinit Bansal is the editor of the book who is already a famous author known for his only book "I Am Heartless" which has also been translated into Hindi with the name "Woh Chali Gayi" and recently, work has been started to translate it into Punjabi language too. Talking about Uff Ye Emotions, one thing for which Vinit Bansal should be applauded is the way he has promoted other 10 authors over him. I, being a part of this anthology, can easily say that he worked in the same manner as Aamir Khan worked in Taare Zameen Par. He let the other newbies do the main job and he kept himself as a supporting part of the venture. For this, I would seriously like to salute him. I have never seen such initiative in Fiction Industry of our country by anyone. I would love to work again with you, Vinit sir.
Coming to the book, I feel that the purity imbibed in each story can be associated with love. None of the story is out of the track or seem to be a wanna-be attempt. Every story has been tried with full passion and interest. Though, with some story it has worked while with some, it didn't.
Starting with the first story- Love @ Platform by Vinit Bansal, the main excitement in the story starts when girl contributes in the boy's dream but I didn't want story to end the way it did.
The Soulmate by Anjit Sharma again starts from a bus stop in the same way as Vinit sir's story began. The scenario when boy goes to girl's house to ask for her hand is a very terrifying scene. The news articles which state that criminals die one after another is the high point of the story but once again I didn't want climax to be such.
Then comes- A Date with Fate by Abhilash Ruhela about which I want to hear from all of you. I can't review myself, right? :-)
Priyanka Dey's Reminiscences has amazing words at right places which makes every sentence beautiful. I loved reading all the sentences in the story but yet again, I banged my head after the climax.
Saurabh Arya's Love in the Times of Turbulence's present part is wonderful but the flashback didn't have the kind of masala that I expect.
C. Suresh's A Path of Thorns is the best story for me. It had the ignition that was missing in all the previous stories. :-) Kudos, sir.
Love Undefined by Pankaj Mittal & Rachna Sheth is a very sweet and unique story. It's very fresh that I have never ever read before. It is another booster in the book. Kudos to both of them.
Sanhita Baruah's Happily Ever After does well when the surprise scene is been described and how the girl gets snubbed and the after-reaction.
Stephen Anthony K's The Intercity Express is initially good but I lost the interest because of almost void interaction between the protagonists.
Himanshu Chhabra's I Love You, I love You too is exactly what I expected from him. As he is young in age, he has drafted a story of his age itself. And he has perfectly written what he wanted to. A genuine attempt.
Drishti Dasgupta's story- And Then...I fell in Love! is a good end to the book. Her language and narration is very good. Book ends on a good note.
Now, coming to the drawbacks- I have one problem with the selection of the stories. As the stories have been chosen through a contest, all the 10 stories should have been of different types. The first three story itself has the whole process at metro station, local train, bus stop etc. Later on, one story again shares it space at a Railway platform. This repetition of same kind of places and scenes did irritate me. Then, as I have regularly complained above- The climax of many stories has been kept kind of sad or incomplete which does not suit the theme- LOVE STORY. I believe that there are two types of Love Story- Happy and Sad but still....
Then, I have a personal grudge against the editor of the book. The index itself has the name of Anjit Sharma's story's title incorrect. Soulmate is written "Solulmate". And then, after reading all the stories, I have found the most mistake being made in my story. I have almost found 4-6 mistakes that are done by editor's side. I don't know if the impartiality towards my story is intentional or it is some co-incidence but whatever it is, I am unhappy as my story is not been treated the way I wanted it to. I don't know why I wasn't sent the story for a proof-read after it was been edited for the last time. I recheck my Blog Post twice before posting it. It is obvious that I would react this way when my published work gets spoiled for the reason that I am most sensitive towards.
In the end, I would say that after completing the book you will surely feel that you were lost in a world full of love. I will give the attempt of this anthology 3.5/5 stars. You will remember some sentences in the book for all your life.
Firstly, my congratulations to the cover designer Sunil Kaushik. I think this book has one of the nicest covers I’ve seen recently. Coming to the content, in an anthology, the stories must blend together in some way, yet be different too. I think they were mostly similar, in the aspect that quite a few of them had the protagonist on a train or a bus at one point in time. It makes me wonder if love can’t happen elsewhere you know? Why must it be so “vehicular”? Another thing that makes sort of sad is that some of the stories, the turning point, or the twist is so sudden. Yeah, life is sudden, but not THAT sudden. I like happy endings, but understand also that there are sad endings, but some in this book are incomplete endings. But what I found the most detracting throughout the book was the absence of editing, even in the contents page. I agree that a novel might have one or two mistakes in editing somewhehere, so many of them in each story of an anthology is to me a big no-no. The stories bring the sense of love and its emotions as promised, and there are 3 or 4 that make you smile as well. Overall, a decent read, but I expected much more than this.
A beautiful collection of love stories describing each and every human emotion in detail. Some stories compelling enough to strike the reader's mind hard and fast and some are not that good.
Spelling mistakes all throughout the book is a turn off.
A few stories are stand out performers in the book.
It's a good attempt at describing love through the eyes of different writers but it could have been better.
Love@Platform (Vinit K. Bansal) There is a special thing about public transport that every frequent traveler knows. In a crowded city like New Delhi, Metro is like a lifeline which gives it a lively character with its kilometers of lengths. Every day thousands of people travel to reach their destinations. Love@Platform is a story about two such travelers, Karan-The Cricketer, and Meera- The Angel. Karan is a student in Hindu College and is an aspiring cricketer. While Meera, the angel, is a front office executive with an MNC. They met at a Metro Platform and as usual, the protagonist Karan fell in love with her at first sight. Hopeless. Soon they started talking and the bond between them grew to make the love a mutual affair. When you are at a most beautiful point in your love story, something is always waiting to change your life forever. Sometimes for good, sometimes for better and sometimes for worst. What happened in their story? Read and find it yourself, duh. It's only the second time I’m reading Mr. Bansal’s writing, and I must say the way story is written is really captivating. There are no unreasonable arguments, no slip of context, and no unreal twists. Everything is justified in a way that it doesn’t cause any loss to the narration. And with a lot of ease Mr. Bansal conveyed the message that love is free from any ownership, and there is no moment when you can’t feel the beauty of love.
The Soulmate (Anjit Sharma) Well, that's my story. Hence no reviews from my side. :)
A Date With Fate (Abhilash Ruhela) They say Mumbai has a big heart that lets everyone stay in its embrace. And it invites everyone with arms wide open. Like Delhi, Mumbai has its lifeline as Local Trains. Thousands of people travel in Mumbai Locals everyday, from senior employees of MNC’s to a dabbawala, almost everyone travels in the same compartment. Initially it seems like a survival, but once you get accustomed, it becomes a part of your life. A Date With Fate is a story of Chirag, an MCA students and his dream girl Kaveri, and his light of hope, Yuvika, his sister. The story starts with an emotional trance of Chirag that is quite realistic in terms of a common life that many of us live. After battling with the thoughts of infatuation Chirag finally realizes that Kaveri is The One for him. Being from different social backdrops, there were some problems, but Chirag knew them all and was ready to make Kaveri a part of his soul. But the biggest problem with love is, it's never easy to get. What made the situation critical? To know it, you have to read the story. Abhilash is one of the topmost bloggers on India and his blogs are frequently read by many big Authors. I too follow his blogs. However he rarely writes any fiction posts, but whenever he does I make sure that I read it. Abhilash has a blunt way to express his thoughts and its clearly visible in his story. He kept the timeline rigid, so I had no moment to flip back and check for context. This story, is one of those which can be turned into a fullfledged novel for sure.
Reminiscences (Priyanka Dey) Verbal meaning of ‘Reminiscences’is Memories. And memories are most beautiful part of human life. Sometimes reason of happiness and sometimes of pain. ‘Reminiscences’ is a story of two more-than-just-a-friend friends Nikhil and Mishti. They met on the virtual world- Facebook, and soon their strings of their hearts played the same tune and they found each other meant-to-be-together, at least Nikhil thought so. On the other hand, Mishti was stiff on her decision that she will never fall in love. However, she knew that she love Nikhil, but didn’t want to admit it. When someone is meant to be together; it's tough to hold on to them. Destiny makes the decisions, and love suffers it all. What happened to their love? Did they meet in the end? Read the story to know it. I know Priyanka’s writing before I became friends with her. Her poetry is beautiful and poignant, and everyone knows that. But this is the first time I’m reading a prose from her side. There is a strong sense of poetic vibes in her narration and quite realistic details of the psychology of the characters give the story a visual sense. Beautifully written quotes among the story is making sure that you won’t try to stay away from the boundless sea of the love, but come closer to the shore and feel the emotions and let your soul drench with love. I’m not surprised, but I’m amazed with her story, and now I’m sure next would be a full fledge novel.
Love in the Times of Turbulence (Saurabh Arya) It's tough to say a goodbye; especially to someone whom you love a lot, because sometimes a goodbye means forgetting them for ever. But what makes one say a goodbye to someone whom they love? No one wants separation in love; the least in love is forever. Sometimes its about the choices we make, while many of the times its about destiny. ‘Love in the Times of Turbulence’ is one such story of Shashank and Shruti. They are preparing for the most prestigious exam for Civil Servises, UPSC , and trying to find a perfect balance between love, life and career. What happened to their lives? Did career take over their feeling of love? Read the story to know it. Mr. Arya’s storytelling is really mature, and has a serious flavor in narration. The way aspiration to become an IAS is described gives a sense that he must have observed them so closely. The characters are middle-aged and behaves accordingly. They are not infatuated or confused between attraction and affection. They’re rather trying to set the priorities and achieve their goals first, which I liked the most. However, in a way, the story is a little slow, maybe because the situations described in them needed some more detailed timespan which isn’t possible under the 5000 word limit. But there is no moment when I didn’t imagine the situation and sometimes even found myself in place of Shashank! Overall, a good coffee-time read.
A Path of Thorns (C. Suresh) There is always some space between togetherness that is full of void. There’s a lot of love but still the bond between the two doesn’t seem to hold them closer. There’s howling winds of misunderstanding, miseries, imperfections of them. ‘A Path of Thorns’ is a story of Rohit and Shilpa, and their married life which is on the edge of becoming a sour memory for both of them. What was wrong in their life? Was it the painful past of Shilpa, or expectations of Rohit, that made their life miserable? Is perfect couple a myth? Read the story and find it yourself. Mr. Suresh is quite an experience person and his blogs have a huge readership. I personally like his views on philosophical matters. And the story is an evident proof of Mr. Suresh’s keen observations and experiences of life. The way psychology of Shilpa is described it really mesmerizing. The detailing of her thoughts is like listening to a distant voice in your head. Similarly, with equal ease Rohit’s mind is been described. His confusions, his expectations, his fears and most importantly, his love. It gave me an engrossing read, when I was craving to read something that I can relate to real life. It's just a thought, but I’d love to listen to this story, in audio. Because while reading, there was no moment when I didn’t hear a voice telling me the story. I loved the story. Truly.
Love Undefined (Pankaj Mittal & Rachna Sheth) There are people who truly believe that love is just a matter of movies or books. There is no feeling called True Love exists in this world. But believe it or not, true love does exist. We fail to recognize it. Sometimes its in the eyes of a beloved, in a simple whisper that says “You’re looking beautiful” or just a smile that makes your face lit up with the glow of love. ‘Love Undefined’ is one such story, that makes you smile, brings tears in your eyes, gives you goosebumps, and would make you realize those little beautiful moments of love that we don’t even notice. ‘Love Undefined’ is a story of Mr. And Mrs. Dubey, who travels on the Mumbai Local train every day. And the narrator of the story sees their love flourishing the world around. The story is written by two authors, and it's hard to find the difference in writing style, but I think the beautiful poems are works of Rachna. Initially, the story is sweetly written, with least twists and turns and once I start to believe that it’s a version of ‘Mehrooni’ a famous short movie of my friend Sharib Hashmi, it changed completely. The track, the moments, the feel. Everything. I make sure that I free my mind before reading, but trust me, they way story progressed it was really hard to forget the events. The descriptive images kept on occupying my mind. But somehow, I got over with the story and been able to read next story. Loved the simplicity, and beautiful poems to describe the mood of the secret narrator.
Happily Ever After (Sanhita Baruah) If you believe that fairy tales are true, then you probably will live in an illusion for the rest of your life. Because the way happiness is described in them is unreal. In life, you can’t have the ‘Happily-Ever-After’ ending, because no one stays to see the end. If you truly want to be happy in a relationship, find the word ‘misunderstanding’ and remove it forever. ‘Happily Ever After’ is a story about Diya and Rohit, and it deals with the great myth with the same name. This is the first time I’m reading something from Sanhita’s pen. Hence I was free from any perceptions, but now I have one. The perception that tells me that soon there would be a chick-lit novel with Sanhita Baruah as an author. Chick-Lit, because the way she narrated the story suits the chick-lit genre. I must admit that I loved the climax. It induces a new hope in all those who believe that a heartbreak is an end of life. There is one more thing that happened while I was reading the story; there’s a mention of the song “Phire Le Aaya Dil” and co-incidentally I was listening to the same! I like they rigidity of the events, and the descriptive emotions. That makes the story one of my favorite.
The Intercity Express (Stephen Anthony K.) Short stories are quite like a little affair that happens during a train journey, when you are travelling alone and expecting a beautiful girl to sit in your front seat. Trust me, if I go by my record, it happens only when I’m travelling with someone from my family. However, it happened with Karan and ‘Mehak’ when they were traveling in the Intercity Express. Karan fell in love with her instantly, but Mehak didn’t even notice him. And before even he could talk to her, he lost her in the crowd of millions of people. But destiny played a game, and Mehak joined the same company as Karan. And the pursuit of love begins again. Did Karan make his way to her heart? Did she recognize him? What happened next? Read the story and know it. Stephen is an avid blogger and his creative-bone ticks all the time. With the experience of blogging for seven years continuous years he already made a place in the hearts of his readers. I liked the way story commenced. In most simple and known way. There was nothing much to think about. With a lot of ease, he moved further when the emotions of the protagonist, Karan, were making him dangle between crush, love and infatuation. Right after finding Mehak again, the story made predictably unpredictable twist and left me in awe of the imagination of the writer. Kudos for that. The climax is superb, and is the best part of the story. Ten on Ten.
I Love You, I Love You Too. But… Only as A Friend (HImanshu Chhabra) Do you remember what how were you when you were in teen-age? It was full of confusions, crushes, heartbreaks, and again new crushes. However, my teen-age had a different flavor. It was full of books, notebooks, and empty refills, if you know what I mean. But to an extent, it’s a story of most of the school going generation. And that’s the plot of the story by Himanshu Chhabra. ‘I love you…’ is a sweet story of a school going girl Surbhi and his hidden feelings towards his handsome classmate Varun. Surbhi wrote her feelings in Varun’s slambook, and decided to let him know about her feelings. But a teenager’s life is never stable, and Surbhi is no exception. With dramatic twists and turns, the story ended on a happy note. This story is the least which I could relate to. Because I hadn't had such friends who would take the help of slam books to express their feelings. You can blame my RSS governed school. But, there is one thing for sure, your story is not realistic, but Real in many terms. It can be a story of any teen-age of today, Of'Course with some modifications. Language has a loose grip, but the use of anecdotes makes sure that story won't turn the anticipation of reader down. To know what's going to happen next, to make sure that there would be no slip of emotions. The way the character of Surbhi is described, is beautiful and tells how much you know about girls. Little less or nothing, it can make a good novel. Ps: I loved the sweet little short poems.
And Then I Fell in Love (Drishti S. Dasgupta) What happens when most popular guy meets a girl who doesn’t give him the kind of attention that he is used to of? He would be taken aback, definitely. Is there any chances that he will fall in love with her? Yes, No, Maybe. Why? Because the last story of ‘Uff Ye Emotions’ depicts the same emotions and answers these questions in a way that will make you feel the fragrance of love. It’s a story of Simran and Rehan. Where Rehan is a supermodel, Simran works for an event management company. The third character of the story is Destiny, which silently plays its part without letting anyone know, but still being in control of every event. I remember reading ‘Stories of Us’ on Dhrishti’s page, and loved the way she wrote that series. So I know some about her writings. But the story here, is written in a different manner. There is a depth in the character of Simran, which gives a strong sense of Joy of Life. I like the rigidity of the story. Drishti kept the story limited to 72 hours, so there is no moment where it seem to be dragged or drifting from the main storyline. Being the last story in an anthology makes it a treat to read. Motivated.
Uff Ye Emotions.... Collection of 12 Love Stories Book Review
Uff Ye Emotions by Vinit K. Bansal
Love@Platform(Vinit K Bansal):
In a single sentence I can define it as a simple story with a twist at the end. I had been in Delhi for quite sometime and my basic mean of transport was metro, so for me creating a image of the story was quite easy. But frankly speaking as a reader first part of the story the scenes are hard to imagine, and it was quite obvious kind of story doesn't hold the interest of the reader. The verses on first two pages seems to be more poetic way of storytelling, and as I am going through Vinit's post from quite a few month I know he is really a good poet and shades of that poet can be seen, I loved it. The boy's description was as if author forgot to describe before and all of a sudden described in the middle(not happening); if it is intentional for a change then I don't think it will work this way, try to put in some other manner.
The second half of the story is really good, the way Vinit has described the emotions of both the characters shows the professionalism of his writing. He kept the story as simple as possible and that was the biggest positive of the story. The story touches the real life which you see now or then in your surrounding and there is chance that you may also have gone through those feeling of Love, which makes me remember this story for a long time. The ending was good but I am still not able to understand why should Meera go off from Karan's life. Want an answer.....
At last the most favorite part and totally agree with the author Love should always be without OWNERSHIP.
The Soulmate(Anjit Sharma):
A Mohsin meeting Zara at a bus stop, there frequent visit made the Mohsin fell in love with the Zara and decides to visit her parents with the marriage proposal.... but there is twist waiting for him which is hard for him to believe..... even if Zara had told many things to him but some mysteries lies within her.....
Superb thought from An-jit, picked the latest happening and created a beautiful story around it. The start, the way how he introduced Mohsin was something I will appreciate, every writer have there own style and this is An-jit's style and he had improved a lot on his writing and story-telling.
As once I reviewed his other story and I commented that the story was predictable, on this I won't say the same but yet I was able to predict the mystery before it was reviled and it is only because I know him personally very well(on some aspects), but as a reader it would be hard to predict it.
Only portion that lags the spark is when Mohsin visits Zara's house and his reactions till he propose to marry Zara......
But Overall good story which will held you to keep on reading.... and all of a sudden it ends and it gives you a feeling that you read only the first half of the story there should be more.... It gives me a mix feeling as I liked the story but it doesn't gave me the feel that it had the ending....
A Date with the Fate(Abhilash Ruhela)
In a single sentence: "A sweet, simple and lovingly story." The story is very common successful school love story as most of us gone through or have seen our friends going through it, but the essence is the way how ABHILASH has narrated the story.
Never ever you feel a complexity in the story, the story travels with a ease, but one thing which I thought was missing was there was no situations(scenes) in the story which the reader will remember for a long time(to be an excellent writer always remember fill readers memories for a long time). But still I loved it at least for having a good ending. An appropriate story title.
I had not described much about the story because I want people to read and feel it coz "it is simple to describe but much more important to feel". Reminiscence(Priyanka Dey)
"Some love remain unexpressed, even when both know the other person love's you and will love you like anything, still unable to behold each other and say 'I LOVE YOU'". This is the line from one of my story which is similar to this one. I was shocked at first that how two person can write as similar story but thank GOD the end is different, but still I can't publish my story now else Priyanka will su me.
As the story is similar to mine I will not comment on it. But I am happy about one thing that Priyanka is much better writer then me, the way she touches the human emotions, the portrayal of emotion is superb and I can see an excellent writer in her.
Love in the Times of Turbulence(Saurabh Arya)
A story well thought of, many of them would have went through but never would of thought of as a story to be penned down.
A story of two people preparing for UPSC Exam and come close to each other. The story is about how their love grows in between the high voltage preparations for exams and how they chooses their priorities and how they realize what is more prior to them.
Good attempt by Sourabh, but I don't feel the love till I reached the end of the story, it was simple ending but beautifully return.
And one more thing I didn't like the title, I know sometimes it is hard to find a good title, but title too holds the key when reader take up a book to read especially when it is a short story.
A Path of Throns(C Suresh)
This is one of the story which deals with maturity and psychological factors of human being and the only story which had an beautifully narrated love making scene.
The story is about Rohit and Shilpa who deals with an unusual situation in their life with the love they posses for each other. The start was unexpected but the end was an expected one. At the end story loses the grip, as there is no interesting scenarios, it goes as we think. But I want to appreciate Suresh sir for the narration of love making scene because it the toughest part to narrate it with such a beauty and soul.
In the story I will not go with Rohit's outburst that too in the first night and when he know Shilpa and all her past life. I think this reaction should have been after around 6 month of their marriage. And again as said to saurabh same goes to you sir I didn't like the title, especially when it is a short story.
Love Undefined(Pankaj Mittal & Rachna Sheth)
This was the story I wanted to finish in one go because it generated a curiosity what next, sometimes it look predictable and all of sudden it becomes unpredictable.
A guy searching for what the true love is, watches a couple daily in the platform, their love teaches him what he was searching for. Traveling means are the easiest way to narrate a story with some question marks, as Vinit sir, Anjit, Abhilash and Sourabh Pankaj also used it very nicely. The beautiful part of this poem was Rachna's Poem which were like icing in the cake.
Happy Ever After(Sanhita Baruha)
"Some stories end with no lose no gain, no love no pain...."
The story is about Diya and her love Rohit, how she get ditched, embarrassed, how she comes out of it, how her friends give her support, how Sagar falls in love with her, how Rohit comes back to her and over all of these how she handles everything in the end.
Sanhita wrote it in a simple way, but the story lacks the spark in some places, still Sanhita shows some promises to be good narrator.
The Intercity Express(Stephen Anthony K)
This is core love at first site story, once again another story with a traveling medium and again it is used in a different way and in this story plays the essence of the narration.
The story is about Meher and how he fells in love at first site with his Mehak, how he finds her, then Mehak fells in love with him and at the end they know the depth of their love. The best thing I liked about Stephen is the way he used the supporting characters Akansha and Tarun, he made their own space and as a reader I can remember all the characters of this story even Maurice Selvaraj. To make every character to live around readers mind is great thing a writer can achieve.
I Love You, I Love you too, But.... only as a Friend(Himanshu Chhabra)
"There are two sides of a coin of our life. One is 'Love' and other is 'Friendship'. From his side, it shows 'Friendship' but I promise, I will keep tossing this coin until it shows 'Love'."
This beautiful lines from Himanshu won my heart, his story narrates the school friendship and school romance of lil girl. The uniqueness of this story was the phrases and dialogue which he used in the story will remain for a long time.
The drawback of Himanshu's writing was that the emotions of the characters in the story was not connecting while we read the story.
And then... I fell in Love!(Drishti S Dasgupta)
The cutest story of the bunch. The story has a feminine touch to it.
The story is about a super model falling in love with an ordinary girl. The story is not that ordinary as it looks like but it has some twists and some beautiful moments and a few good lines which will make you smile at the end.
All those bloggers and authors (who know me) - accept my apologies for reading this book late :)
Uff Ye Emotions, a collection of love stories, was an average read. Somehow, all those love stories seemed typical to me. Maybe, I am biased towards this genre. Though, the effort that people invested in this anthology is commended. The stories are ok, some good ones, some boring ones. Language, at times, was faulty and I guess the book needed some editing before getting published.
Good luck to all the authors, featuring in the book. Hope they taste prime success soon :)
Its a really good book with a mix of some nice love stories and some ok-ok love stories..
Its a bit hard for me to pick out one story as the best but I liked the one where male character get married to rape victim.. and their experience on their first night after wedding. What I loved most was teh climax of the story and I wish..every male would be able to do the same.
It's a collection of short love stories and most of the stories are Fine some good and few are excellent. In all this is a wonderful effort which allows many bloggers to get published. In fact few of my blogger friends are featured in here which was my primary reason for picking up this book. We need more efforts like this. Keep it up folks.
People who don't read generally ask me my reasons for reading. Simply put I just love reading and so to that end I have made it my motto to just Keep on Reading. I love to read everything except for Self Help books but even those once in a while. I read almost all the genre but YA, Fantasy, Biographies are the most. My favorite series is, of course, Harry Potter but then there are many more books that I just adore. I have bookcases filled with books which are waiting to be read so can't stay and spend more time in this review, so remember I loved reading this and love reading more, you should also read what you love and then just Keep on Reading.
Uff Ye Emotions Review: A cake for the chic lit lovers, but...
Almost all the stories are similar in their theme and settings (incidentally many are set inside/outside a train/railway station). While some stories may touch you, some may just make for a light read. If you feed on chic lit romance, then this book will be a ‘paisa vasool’ (money’s worth). But if you love those chaste love stories portrayed by Austen, Bronte and Mitchell in their classics, then you will be a touch disappointed with this one. With simple and not-so-impactful English and an overdose of chic romance, “Uff Ye Emotions” may not quite elicit a happy “emotion” within you.
It is awful. Simply awful. One has to see it to believe how abysmally bad it is. I wonder how the authors feel about having participated in this. The 'poems' seem to have been written by a perverted third-grader. The stories won't make it to lowest rung of Bollywood movies. Language is unspeakable.
This book is an eyeopener. I give it 1 star because zero star is not possible.
Bored to read the same kind of genre.. !! author has planned to kill yu with bunch of love stories...!!! all the stories followed up the same open expected story line, which eventually decreased your eagerness in reading the story. 2stories was worth reading and others were just eaten up and wasted my time..! Cursing myself for buying this book !! You will find a lot of better books out there !!
A perfect example of poor editing and strange stories. I felt I wasted my time. The only story that made sense to me was of C.Suresh. How can the stories be award winning? Sigh sigh
Excellent book and amazing stories.. Nicely edited, you must read once.... One of the stories I was reading at night and at the climax it comes out to be a bit scary love story. I was all alone in my room and i felt her presence for a moment. I was thinking if I lament for her story, she might take me with her.
