Zoe & Chloe #3

Dívky, 16: Bohyněmi za sedm dní

Rate this book

this book has always been one of my favourites. i remember reading it as a kid, reaching the end, and instantly wanting to start it all over again, which is the highest of praise. it’s funny, it’s british (kind of essential for my enjoyment of chick lit, ngl), and it’s an easy read, as it’s aimed towards preteens but still very funny as a young adult. of course, being written in the 2000s, there are a few slurs sprinkled in there - less than ideal - but almost synonymous with the genre of noughties chick lit, heartbreakingly. i actually adore the ending; i like how zoe’s fantasy comes to life so suddenly, and it’s breathtakingly adorable. of course the whole “you don’t need makeup/exercise/etc to be a goddess, you just need to be you” cliche was inevitable, but the scene with zoe and beast cuddled up watching rose perform just about made it bearable. i actually would’ve preferred more of a makeover scene myself, as i’m really into that sort of thing, so i would’ve liked more detail of how amazing they managed to look by the end of their project, only to then realise it didn’t matter after all, it was all on the inside, etc etc - but i guess their giving up on the project was probably a more realistic turn of events. anyway! i’m rambling - this book is a lot of fun. i’d recommend - just maybe grab a pen to scribble out the offensive language.

Really good book. I laughed all the time and could relate to some of her experience. I truly recommend this book.

To není dobrá cesta.

Good book, but no real plot, no romance, and it didn't grip me, as I thought it should have.
