Spellbound moves from simple, consistent rules to more difficult ones. Students use an inductive process to confirm the rules they learn. Mnemonic devices and "best guess" strategies help them cope with alternative choices and exceptions. Each portion of text is followed by exercises, oral and written, for drill and kinesthetic reinforcement.
