Quinn Emery is a true, dyed in the wool cowgirl, from the brim of her Stetson to the tips of her favorite old pair of Tony Lama’s. She’s returned from college, bent on raising Quarter Horses under the wide South Dakota sky and nothing is going to distract her from that goal. Not a narcissistic ex-boyfriend, her brother’s fantastically successful dude ranch or a her desire for a place to call her own.

Craig Lynch has come home too. Now a widower with a ten-year-old daughter, he has to reestablish a life as a rancher after traveling all over the world. Not such an easy task, but when he sees Quinn, he knows life is going to get much more complicated. Last he saw her she was ten, but now she’s an incredibly sexy woman and the attraction is too strong to ignore.

Falling in love, however, has more complications than either bargain for. A reluctant daughter, the jealousy of an ex-boyfriend, and the shadow of Craig’s late wife nearly destroy everything, but Craig is determined to convince Quinn that love can overcome anything.

Book Review- Sweet and wild by Cerian Herbert
This book centers around a young woman who was raised on a ranch and loves that way of life. She is strong and sassy. Quinn knows her way around horses and yearns for a simple life. She is a great character. However, she is a bit unhappy living and working on her brother’s dude ranch. It is more for tourists than a working ranch in South Dakota.
I liked reading this book as I know the area the author writes about. The main character knows what she likes and wants. Her crush, when she was a child, is her brother’s friend. Her feelings are still there. When he comes home with his daughter, I like how she tries to talk herself out of her feelings but is unable to. Her attraction to Craig is too much to ignore. It is almost funny when he notices she is an actual woman instead of the child he remembers. Their relationship takes them by surprise along with everyone else. I truly like how this story plays out and the reactions of the characters. Their relationship isn’t easy because of outside factors. It is realistic and believable. I’m a bit surprised things took so long to figure out but when you are dealing with very stubborn characters, I guess it can be expected. It was a great read and I give it a 4 out of 5.

I enjoyed the book. There were a lot of obstacles for the main characters to maneuver through and it kept it interesting. I did end up wondering what went on with Fire the horse and his training. It seemed to me the author intended to go somewhere else with the buildup of that part of the plot, and then suddenly changed her mind and kind of left it hanging.

This was a sweet romance. Quinn is quite an independent woman who knows her own mind - when her (now) widowed childhood crush comes back into her life she doesn't hesitate. But the course of true love can't run too smoothly; jealous ex-boyfriends, a ten year old daughter and a protective brother all lend a hand to way-lay the HEA.

Beautiful story! Loved it! Quinn is a very interesting heroine and I can totally understand her crush on Craig. What a man!

The author has a real talent for description. I've never been on a ranch, but I could very easily picture the settings of the story.

I'll definitely read other books from Cerian Hebert!

Main character is a cowgirl which is a little of a switch.
All the characters were well developed and although there were problems from the outside they were dispatched and it was a well-paced, good read.

3.5 stars. A review of this contemporary romance story that was slow to progress and seemed to have some section that seemed to me to be "fluffy" as well as have many hurdled for main characters to have their ... will be on my blog in August 2015.
