Lady Mary Cartwright played at love like others played at sport. To her it was a freeing rebellion that had nothing at all to do with feelings and everything to do with scandalously giving in to pleasure. But when an intriguing new title holder arrives in town and shakes up her world, Mary is faced with the reality that love may be more than a game after all.
When Gregory Howard, Viscount Lincoln, met Mary, he was instantly captivated by her wit and her brazen attitude. A decade later, their chance meeting has blossomed into a deep, supportive friendship in every endeavor of life and love. But when a new arrival to town catches Mary’s eye in a different way, Greg no longer feels supportive. For the first time ever, he finds himself sabotaging Mary’s arrangements and before long the friends are forced to consider something wicked: their true feelings for each other.
I'm Olivia Fuller. I published my first book when I was 4 years old (using folded paper and a stapler!), and gave a new story to my kindergarten teacher every day. Back then I wrote about baby dinosaurs (Land Before Time, anyone?), but now I prefer to write romances. When I'm not writing I watch too much television, goof around with my husband, and playfully narrate the lives of my dog and cats: Sweetie, Cher, and Rocket Kitty. (I mean, what DOES a cat do all day under the bed? I can only assume something scandalous...)
The Wicked Games series is complete! Book 3, LOVE AND OTHER WICKED GAMES, was released November 22, 2013.
I'm currently working on a brand new series and I'm really excited about it! STRANGE AND BEAUTIFUL, a new adult sci-fi romance series coming soon!
Interesting book. It was a bit slow to start, but quickly picked up and drew me into the relationship between Mary and Greg. Mary is definitely not your typical regency heroine, and like most regencies I've read, sometimes the language is more modern than regency, however, I found it delightful. For me, regencies are all about the dialogue and banter and the author does this well, especially the further into the book you get.
It's a fun book, and I think the cover sort of lets it down because when I see it I don't immediately think fun regency romp, but something quite dark. I loved Greg. Great hero, great friend, the kind of guy you'd want to meet in person. In the end, the top criteria for me is likeable characters and I very much liked Greg and Mary and felt they popped off the page and into my life.
I received an advanced copy of Something Wicked and was quite excited to read it! I throughly enjoyed The Wicked Game, so I had been patiently waiting to see what happens to Angela's dear cousin Mary. I was not let down! Being a fast reader, I devoured the second installation which only left me wanting more!
I won this book through a goodreads giveaway. This is not your typical romance novel. The author did an amazing job with the characters. They were so descriptive and captivating. I look forward to reading Olivia Fuller's next book.
