Jenny King’s best friend has just become engaged to Mark Stoltzfus. Jenny herself has begun seeing Jacob Lapp, who recently asked for her parents’ permission to court her. She is worried about Jacob, who’s sister has just been excommunicated for trying to defame Annie Fisher and steal needed items from her classroom.
What happens next could spell the end to the simple harmony that Jenny has enjoyed.
Rachel was born and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Being part of the Mennonite community, she started writing Amish romance fiction as a way of looking at the Amish community. She wanted to present a fair and honest representation of a love that is both romantic and sweet. Her books about Jacob Marshall, "A Home for Jacob series," is the most popular of her books.
This must have been written by someone else. The first two books in this series were page turners, this was so slow that I had to force myself to finish reading it. The typos, grammar error, mixing up the names of the characters was just awful. They never went back to Hannah Lapp after she started working as a nanny in the Englischer world. I would not recommend this book.
A man, Mr Carey, came to see Jenny wanting her to make two quilts for him to sell. She agreed to do this if he would sign an agreement on the terms and price she would receive. With her boyfriend standing there he agreed. Mr Carey had no intention of paying her the full amount. You'll have to read to see if Jenny got her money or if Mr Carey got his way. Won't take you long to read but it's full of adventures.Enjoy!
This is the third in a series of Amish romance stories by Stoltzfus. This one seemed to me to have a stronger story line. The repetition problem I saw in the first two novellas is not as prominent in this story. I liked reading about the challenge Jenny had as an Amish woman dealing with an Englisch business man who had no problem with ripping off these 'meeker' artisans. I will read more of the books.
I really enjoyed this book, It would be much better if the book was longer, and continued with their lives. Plot and theme were good, it! Just leaves you hanging. , and wondering what's. next. Maybe this was a sample, and I thought it was the whole book.
Book two of An Amish Love Story Series, Simple Harmony, was a very well written book. The story had me wondering what was going to happen next with Jenny & Jacob and I was worried about the tornado. I am looking forward to reading the last book in the series next.
I enjoy this author and stories about the Amish. Seeing characters from the earlier books was great. I definitely recommend this book and any others by Rachel Stoltzfus.
It was nice. Just nice. I felt it was written too simply. The Amish might be simple people but the story shouldn't have to be. The 'happy ever after ' was too Disney for my tastes.
These wonderful stories could easily earn five stars with some editing. While I don't usually give major deductions for editing problems if the story is good, this has too many editing problems to ignore. The stories were very enjoyable with great plots.
