Six months after being discharged from The Clever-field Mental Health Clinic and supposedly on the mend, Sydney Henderson finds herself on the brink of self-destruct. Unable to escape the tragic events of her past she struggles to move forward amidst her multiple personalities that corrupt her mind, institutionalizing her range of freedom.
Situations heighten when Brittany and Shelly, her gorgeous yet scandalous childhood friends reunite with her and triggers her uncontrollable disorder. They immediately become a reckoning force. Trapped in a Borough filled to the brim with violence and pain, Shelly, Brittany, and Sydney make a pact with Judas Mendez, a malicious back stabbing rude boy in a bid to get out of East London's notorious Hackney projects as he relinquishes his crown as King Pen of the streets.
Judas Mendez is tired of hustling under his father’s thumb, and foolishly sets out to expand his drug business with his new-found ride or die chicks by his side, but suspicious enough, his fiance Naomi doesn't share his vision nor direction of their empire with his new trusted circle . Soon she finds herself fighting for more than their investments when she learns the depth of his deceit, and strong bond with Sydney. Loyalty and love have no place in this gripping tale of sex, intuition, lies, and manipulation; but all is revealed when new personalities step onto the scene determined to take over the leading role.

Louise Payne tells a story based on loyalty and the underworld. Sensi is a dirty cop who has many people on payroll including his son Judas. Judas tries his best to run things on his own without the approval of his father. Sydney is fresh out of the mental clinic and back being with her friends Brittany and Shelly. They sign a deal that they can’t refuse before they realize that everything comes with a price. Naomi, the sister of Sydney and fiancé of Judas, gets a shock when learning of Judas’ infidelity. Judas wants Naomi to be his ride or die chick, but that’s not the life she plans on living. There’s no telling what will happen when his deceit is revealed. This book was just an okay read to me. It was very interesting that it took place in London. What made that interesting were the terms that were used throughout the book that are used in that region. I feel that with a little more work this book would be at least a 4 star read. There were some editing issues that were hard to overlook. Also the author did not separate the flashbacks from the actual story which interrupted the flow of the story. I had to reread certain parts over again due to now knowing that she had switched from the present to the past and vice versa. I also felt that some parts of the story were all over the place and a lot of details were given that did not add to the story. I will be willing to read another book by the author to see her growth as an author.
Sydney Henderson is dealing with a warped sense of reality in Playing Dirty Mind Games by Louise Payne. Sydney has a personality disorder that landed her in a mental health clinic. After being released, Sydney's personalities are fighting to take over her life. Sydney is having a hard time controlling them and soon turns to destructive behavior.
Sydney's sister, Naomi has tried to help Sydney the best way she knows how and that is giving her a place to stay. Naomi is pregnant and does not want Sydney's mental condition to affect her life with her man, Judas. Judas is trying to make his mark in the drug game but his love for women seems to keep getting in the way. Naomi does not agree with his choice of profession, which becomes a problem in their relationship. Will Naomi and Judas keep it together? Will Sydney be able to stand on her own?
The mind can play tricks on you and this was not evident in Playing Dirty Mind Games. This was an interesting book to read, but I wanted to know more about Sydney. This character's disorder was not present enough in the storyline for me. The transitions in the story confused me at times and this made it hard to relate to the characters. I believe with professional editing this could be a good book.

Judas is the boss in the street and has the advantage over everything that is illegal due to his father Sensi. Sensi is a detective who uses his son Judas to handle all of his unfinished street business. Sensi uses his position as detective to play with everyone's life as if he is in a game of chess. Judas is his pawn and he also employs Judas’ right hand man, Essen, to body anyone who owes him anything especially money.
Judas receives orders from his father to keep an eye on Naomi, the daughter of a boss that Sensi had eliminated previously. Judas complies with his wishes and in the process of keeping an eye on her, he ends up falling in love with her.
“Playing Dirty Mind Games: Same Game Different Players” by Louise Payne was great. It draws you in from page one and it is full of ups and downs and suspense. Readers, if you love a book full of drama, lust, sex, lies and games, this is the one.
