It read just like a text book and it felt so real, there were some points I found myself wondering if all of that stuff really had happened.

I’m often asked in interviews about how I would act/survive the zombie apocalypse if it should chance to occur. Fans of the genre all have their individual plans and ideas. Stories abound and the zombie bookshelf is filling with all types. Now, let’s say that it has all kicked off and we need somebody to provide a documentary about the undead menace. After reading Zombies: A Hunters Guide by Joseph A. McCullough, I believe we have our man.
Zombies: A Hunters Guide speaks with such conviction and authority that I defy you to read it and not scour the internet to check the “facts” McCullough presents. This book assumes our nightmares have come true, perhaps not on the global scale that we’re used to, but rather in fits and starts throughout history. This is a conspiracy theorist’s dream. Zombies are real and have been occurring in a variety of forms since ancient times. If you doubt this, then simply investigate the research laid out before you in this clever tome.
Tips of the hat are found in subtle and clever ways in what can best be described as a written documentary of the zombie menace. Everything from Romero to Barry Sadler’s Casca are somehow tied into a very real and convincingly written piece. I heartily recommend this book to the dedicated zombie fan, and is there any other kind?
While the price may cause some to balk ($17.95 for seventy-five pages of content), I will say that some of the art—including a magnificent cover—make this book worthy. Also, it reads much heftier than its page content. There is a plethora of information here. Also, so much of what you will find is likely to have you Binging and Googling your little brains out.
As a self-professed lover of almost all things British, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that this offering comes across the pond from Dark Osprey Publishing. This entry alone will have me watching for further releases by not only Joseph A McCullough, but from Dark Osprey as well. Additionally, if Mariusz Kozik is the artist responsible for the cover and the full-page artwork…I’ll be adding signed prints of his work to my birthday and Christmas wish lists. Zombies: A Hunters Guide is exactly what it claims to be, “…a must for anyone on the frontlines of the zombie wars.”

Our government is constantly trying to cover up things from the general public. The Kennedy assassination, extraterrestrial life and zombies. Yes, zombies are real and outbreaks have been increasing steadily since World War II.
Joseph McCullough’s Zombies: A Hunter’s Guide is a reference book that will aid the reader in, attempting, to survive should an outbreak occur in their location. There are many who may already be prepared, but there can always be something that is missed. This book is just the tool needed to help avoid missing any important information and items.
Zombies: A Hunter’s Guide is divided into several fully illustrated sections. Since it is very important to always know what type of threat one is dealing with the reader is given a bit of knowledge on the various types of zombies. There are 6 types of zombies, not including Zombie Masters and various zombified animals, according to Joseph McCullough’s extensive research. Each section regarding a particular type of zombie is divided into a few different components, such as, a bit of information about the type of zombie being discussed, the creation, the identification and threat potential and the elimination and prevention. The last few portions of this reference guide is giving information about real life zombie hunters, some equipment, weapons and tactics that may be used by these men and women who put their lives on the line to help keep us safe from the seemingly never-ending hordes of undead. The very last section gives additional places to look further for information regarding this threat to our existence, including other books, movies and even games of strategy to help hone the senses.
A good hunting guide is always a must have for any hunter whether it be for deer, elk, bear or zombies. So when it can mean the difference between surviving or joining the constantly multiplying ranks of the undead make sure Zombies: A Hunter’s Guide is in your bug out bag. It could be the difference between life and…undead.

This book is AMAZING.This is by far the best zombie information book I have EVER read. This book is told from a very interesting POV. It is told like zombies actually exist. There are facts on voodoo zombies, viral zombies, Nazi zombies, and many more. The author has a great choice of words, making the book sound very scientific but entertaining at the same time. The only reason I gave this book 4/5 is because the writing can get kind of confusing
My fav part in this book is the part about learning how to fight zombies. It has everything about the necessary weapons, vehicles, and armor. For example; handguns are better for short distance zombie brain sniping, while melee are not the ideal choice for fighting zombies. This part will definently have you prepared for the zombie apocalypse!
I would recommend this book to anybody who likes zombies, or whom are prepping for the zombie apocalypse! It is also just a fun read if you want to know more about zombies. And I just have to say it again;

This book was pretty good.
Showing the different types of zombies that a professional zombie hunter will encounter during their career was good, and giving details about the background of their creation was also good. The artwork was pretty good as well and I liked that there was artwork from the Walking Dead in it as well.
However parts of the book do seem to be recycled from Max Brooks' masterpiece and the other survival guide knock-offs that are all over the market. Yet the author did go the extra mile with this instead of just copy and pasting and putting his name on the cover.
But the book was just to short for my tastes. It feels like the author is isn't done with this book yet, like there is more to write for this work.

An enjoyable and concise summary of the basics of zombie creation and destruction. An essential primer for anyone who wants to write about zombies in fiction, games, or in non-fiction (?).
Written as a serious treaties on the real facts of zombies, I'm delighted that this will be an artefact of our society that will be puzzled over in future centuries by archaeologists trying to piece together what actually destroyed humankind.

First of all I was surprised at how short this book was that said its basically a fun little zombie handbook looking at the various types of zombies, their creation, strengths, weaknesses and behavior. If you're a zombie fan, Zombies: A Hunter's Guide is worth a quick read but I don't see it as a book to buy as it really offers nothing new a dedicated zombie fan doesn't already know.

Written in the same style as their non-fiction works, this book offers a concise description of the traditional types of zombies. It also describes those who fight them.
