Oliver and Olga are back and on their way to Japan. Before they reach their destination, there is a brief stop in Bangkok to meet up with the Latin Pop Star. When they arrive in Japan, Oliver's expectations of the client and reality are in direct contrast. Oliver faces another of his challenges when what he truly wants and what he truly desires come into conflict.
I am an absolute fan of Livia's series of books about Oliver's adventures. As such, I have been really looking forward to reading this new installment. I was kindly gifted a copy by the author for an honest review.
I was surprised because the amount of sex scenes in this book is very low. In a way, I really liked that. It is nice to know more about the characters as individuals, seeing them around living normal lives and not only having sex all the time. I like the way the relationship between Oliver and Olga is heading to, even if they don't know yet. But it is something you can feel while reading. It is that sense that you know more than the characters that engage you to keep on reading, to know whether they are going to realise what you already know.
When Oliver goes on with his plans to marry a rich woman, Olga doesn't really like that idea. Will their relationship suffer from that? Will Oliver get the right bride? What will happen when they both travel to Japan to meet the Samurai? Don't miss this book because you are in for surprises and twists. I really liked the ending; it made me scream for more!
I cannot recommend this book more, and I cannot wait to read another installment of this interesting series.
The not so good things? I found typos and incorrect words :(
This series just gets better and better! No other words. Perhaps great, greater, and greatest. Maybe excellent and brilliant. Yes, those words as well. I live inside of Oliver’s head. I’m him. I’m in awe. His relationship with his parents endeared me to him. His relationship with Olga is complex. He’s complex. The ending of this book made me fall in love with him, again, and again...
I’m not sure if Livia Ellis can write a bad installment for Memoirs of a Gigolo. That sounds like I’m too much of a fan, but I’m saying that in an honest unbiased way. Ellis continues to release each volume of Oliver’s memoirs and keeps me wanting more each time.
In this one we get a great glimpse into Oliver’s past and why he is in the financial situation he’s in today. Until now, the reader gets the gist of what happened. In volume four, Oliver opens up about it all. We get to connect with him on a deep emotional level. I feel that, at least for Volume Four, this series is taking (probably a minor) step away from being a moderately erotica based story. The majority of this volume is spent on developing a better understanding of characters like Oliver and Olga, figuring out the relationship between the two of them, between Oliver and his past, between Oliver and his home/family history and what it means to him.
There’s a few interesting twists near the end of this volume that’s really making me want Volume 5 to be released as soon as possible, but I can’t get into that without you all reading these first. All I know is that the start of Volume 5 will be very interesting.
I've read every single instalment of Memoirs of a Gigolo and my addiction shows no signs of slowing down. This volume was as good as the others even if (or more so because?) it focusses more on character development rather than tons of sex. I'm fine with that. In fact, I really enjoyed learning more about Oliver's background and the story with his fiancée that led up to the mess he finds himself in towards the beginning of the Memoirs serial.
I love the detail that is put into this story and the characters, all of it really makes me care about what happens next. Ollie might be hard to relate to from afar; due to his background as well as his current occupation. But he is also so likeable!
This is one work that I'd love to have sitting on my bookshelf when it's all done, an exception to my current habit of almost exclusively buying and reading ebooks.

I just adore this series. I am hooked. I just bought book 5 because I gave to know what happens next. I feel for Ollie, shoot I would be his countess, it doesn't matter how many clients he has had. He is just lovely, that and who doesn't love a challenge. I an intrigued by the samurai, I did not expect the end at all. I still adore the LPS, I like him and Ollie together. I love Olga, I am still hoping she becomes Ollie's countess in the end.
Wow, oh wow. The story just keeps getting more complex, and Oliver's adventures are certainly just that--adventures. I'm fascinated by this series, and read this entry pretty much all in one go. I really couldn't put it down. I love it when I'm that engrossed by a character and a story.
