There was a young man who was terribly handsome, extraordinarily charming and suitably rich. He enjoyed life and all that it had to offer, even if he was growing weary of being alone. One evening, he saw a beautiful woman through a storefront window and he knew that his life would never be the same.
THE FATES HAVE OTHER IDEAS
Before he had the opportunity to meet her he was in a car accident and lost his vision with no knowledge of when – or if – it would return. For several weeks, the image of the gorgeous enchantress was the only light in his dark world; he knew that he had to meet her. So he contrived a reason to go into her store, using his blindness to his advantage as he introduced himself to his dream girl. Sparks flew and he fell madly, passionately in love.
BLIND ATTRACTION
Because in a world where image is everything sometimes it takes losing your sight to finally be able to see clearly.
Like most writers, I spend most of my time telling myself stories and occasionally writing them down when they get too loud to remain in my head. The characters are also very demanding, wanting to go out into the world to be discovered by millions of adoring readers, though they are most satisfied with having only a few readers that truly love them. From the gargoyles that sit on top of the roofs to the Siren who lures her wolf astray to the Aradians and Apocritae to those who battle evil, the characters are everything.
Instead of going through the traditional gatekeepers of the publishing world I have leapt over the walls with the help of digital catapults (kindle direct, smashwords, and createspace) and messenger e-birds (goodreads, facebook, twitter, RNC, etc), going directly to the public. It has been a year and while my strong hold is small it grows larger every day as I connect with other rebels throughout the lands and the readers who support our work. It is a glorious day to be a writer.
When it comes to the actual writing I have discovered that every single one of my books likes to be created in a different way, which makes establishing an environment that is most conducive to my writing is not likely, though it occasionally involves chocolate covered raisins, music, minesweeper, occasionally Mahjong, lots of solitaire, notebooks and scraps of paper, doodling and day dreaming, and fruity, sugar-free bubble gum, not necessarily in that order and not always at the same time.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the love and support of my very loving and very tolerant family: my husband who encourages me to keep writing even when I act a little insane in regards to the worlds in my head, and my three kids who help out so much when I get lost in those same, darn worlds. They politely listen as I go on and on about my characters' motivations and back stories, their connections within the worlds created and how they fight to gain control of their destinies. But I am a cruel writer and make them earn their happy endings.
Since I am also a Romantic at heart, they are all happy endings.

Thirty year old James got the whole package. He is handsome, every woman's dream actually, comes from a prestigious family with money and he is the CEO and co founder of a successful business. He only dated stunningly beautiful women of a particular type, platinum blonde, tall, slim and glamorous.
One night on his way to meet his friends, he glimpsed in a shop window that wasn't set up yet, a very beautiful woman who was sheer perfection, the woman of his dreams. He wanted to go in and introduce himself but he was not inclined to do it in the presence of his friends.
The next day he had an accident that left him temporarily blind. Nobody knew when he was to regain his sight, it could take weeks, months, even years. During his recuperation the image of the girl in the window had gotten him through the worst days. Three months later and back on his feet he was determined to pursue that girl even in his blind state.
Victoria was an attractive, shy, 24 year old who worked hard to open her own shop. Her dream shop that specialised in fantasy and romance. She was excited even though she had to borrow a lot of money from the bank to fulfil her dream.
Victoria's best friend was a wealthy, lady of leisure, spoiled and incredibly beautiful Taylor. Having lived most of her life with Taylor, made Victoria have low self-esteem. She'd been living in Taylor's shadow. Once a guy saw Taylor, Victoria just sort of disappeared. Her college boyfriend dumped her for Taylor. Taylor did sleep with said boyfriend after the breakup but Victoria did not take it to heart as she wasn't in love with him or anybody else in her life. In fact Victoria was a virgin.
One day the most magnificent man stepped into the shop. She've noticed the white cane in his hand. He asked her out making her wonder why, till she realised: He couldn't see her. She knew he was out of her league. She agreed to go out with him and as he planted a kiss on her cheek she felt like she'd been struck by lightning. She knew that once he gets his sight back what reason would he have to remain with her?
So they went out and James had the strangest feeling that she was his soul-mate and it had nothing to do with her stunning beauty. When he held her in his arms the feel of her body didn't quite match the image that was in his head. Did he have the right woman? He asked her the colour of her hair, she said blonde. Right answer. Anyway, he knew that she was so much more than her appearance.
On another date he'd invited her to the company ball and Victoria having a glimpse of high society knew this wasn't going to work but continued dating him anyway. Victoria found herself losing her heart to him and James found himself falling in love with her as well. Her personality was perfect for him in addition to her looks. She was the complete package. After exchanging "l love yous" they did have sex and it was wonderful. For Victoria it was the first time.
James woke up one morning and yes, he could see again. His first thought was that he was going to be able to see Victoria. Then he was going to propose. Arriving at the shop he scanned among the customers and he soon spotted her. Her hair was shorter than a few hours ago when he was with her. He took her into his arms and kissed her and she'd kissed him back. Something was different but tried to ignore it. When she spoke her voice was off as well. "You are not Victoria"! He looked at the woman he'd just kissed, she was even more beautiful than the brief glimpse he had on her months ago, but still there was no zing, no connection. The woman he had seen in the window was actually Taylor.
He left the shop wondering if the real Victoria turned out to be hideously ugly. He wanted to believe that he was above such petty concerns but he wasn't. He wished he could say he would love her if she was a troll but he knew he would not be able to.
The main characters were destined to go through a lot of heartache and pain to eventually reach their HEA. There is a lesson to be learnt in this story. Regaining his sight blinded him to what his heart and mind knew all along, that he'd found his soul mate in Victoria. Victoria was blind too when it came to her friend Taylor. I can write a whole book outlining the reasons why Taylor was such a bad friend, one that needed to be avoided.
This book is about low self-esteem, insecurities, superficial feelings and priorities, shallowness, redemption and bad friends. It's really worth reading and the Hero did redeem himself.
James is a successful business and one of the hottest and most eligible bachelor in town. One day, he saw a beautiful woman through a bookstore window. And before he could go introduce himself, he was called away. That day itself, James was involved in a car accident that left him temporarily blind. With his life irrevocable changed, James can't stop thinking about the woman he saw and he was determined to meet her.
So he did. He pretended to be lost, which was easy considering he was blind, and walk into that bookstore where he saw the beautiful woman. There, he meets Victoria, and felt an undeniable chemistry with her. Victoria felt the same way too, the only question is, was she the woman he saw before the accident or someone else?
I would love to give you more but that would totally spoil the whole book, considering that this is a short one. So I would leave you to try and find out for yourself. :D
Self note avoid Too much like a Disney fairy tale. H who only dated beautiful women goes blind temporarily, and falls in love with someone because of her personality blah blah…..then gets his vision back and realizes he still loves her even though she’s merely pretty and not his usual type and someone who he’s not usually attracted to. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
He also had sex with her believing that she was the beautiful woman he saw (her bestfriend was at her store) right before he went blind. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
✰✰½ Zing! This book reminded me why I rarely read mf vanilla books. I read this for one of my challenges and it's worth 5 points compared to 1 for other books so I forced myself to finish. I've actually read another series from this author that I enjoyed but this was painful for me.
First we have (sh*t, I can't remember the heroine's name and I finished this yesterday), oh yeah, Victoria or Vi, who's a honey-blonde - not a platinum blonde which is what our hero, James or Jimmy, prefers. And we have Vi's bff, Taylor, who had no qualms sleeping with a former boyfriend of Vi's, but that's ok, because Vi figured she dodged a bullet, she obviously didn't care that much for him since it didn't bother her that much and thank goodness she didn't waste her virginity on him.
And then we have the 'ZING' 10,000 times.
James happened to see Taylor, a platinum blonde once and then promptly was in a car accident and temporarily lost his sight. Then he went to the shop he had seen Taylor at and thought Victoria was Taylor. He had a completely different picture in his head of what Vi looks like - you know, he had a photographic memory (at least it wasn't a photogenic memory - I did read that in a book once, can't remember the book, but remember the phrase).
Wasn't he surprised when he got his sight back and the woman he'd been sleeping with (yep, Vi gave up the V-card for him after two weeks - you know that zing) and didn't look a thing like his photographic memory remembered - she was after all, a honey blonde.
It was torture for me to finish so I'm on to a nice mm romance next that doesn't have a silly female heroine.
With 214 pages it was unnecessary to give repetitive detail on Victoria and Taylor's relationship, this reader got it very quickly and it came at the expense of real character development and a believable resolution that would have satisfied this reader. Still, I did enjoy the writing.
This was a delightful fairy-tale type story that was about two people that believed in fate and true love in theory, but then had their opportunity to put it to the test.
James is a successful, rich handsome guy who thinks he sees the girl of his dreams one night through a shop window, but doesn't get the chance to pursuit this feeling because he ends up in a bad car accident that leaves him blind and struggling to put his life back together. When he's back on his own feet, he is determined to pursue that girl he saw and hope that she will give a blind man a chance.
Victoria has just opened her shop and crosses her fingers for its success since she's in debt up to her neck to get it all going. Victoria lives a life devoid of romance, but not by choice. She's a bit shy about trying because she has the misfortune of being the beautiful rich girl's best friend. But then fate gives her a chance when James accidentally steps into her shop mistaking her for the dry cleaners next door. When he asks her out, she says yes.
Victoria enjoys this budding relationship with James, but just knows that he'll either eventually come to his senses or if he ever gets his sight back he'll realize his mistake. She doesn't care because James is the best thing that has ever happened to her and she has already lost her heart to him. James gets in way over his head and loses his heart to Victoria. He still has that image of her (which was really a glimpse of Taylor, Vi's best friend) from that quick peak through the window, but knows now that she is so much more than her appearance. He starts thinking forever. But then his sight returns-
This was one of those stories that I knew exactly what the crisis was going to be from the get-go, but it didn't deter me from wanting to read on to find out how it would play out. I enjoyed much of the story with the exception of two things. I really didn't like Taylor, Victoria's best friend. I could have lived with the fact that she was shallow, but she said some pretty hurtful and awful things to Victoria and she unapologetically stole guys from her- best buds don't do that. The other thing I didn't like was something toward the end that I won't detail out to keep from spoiling it. Let's just say someone had a severe over-reaction that was almost out of character. I was confused by the emotions of anger and betrayal and even more baffled with the explanation. The things that bothered me were not enough to make me dislike the book and I thought the epilogue was a cute touch.
Those who enjoy sweet fairy-tale like contemporary romances with a touch of spice will want to give this one a try.
I will confess right up front that I helped beta read this novel. And I loved it in its original form, so it has to be amazing now (not that I’m such a wonderful editor, but because Ms. Warneke is that good of a writer).
Yeah, love is blind. And sometimes it’s stupid as well. Especially if you’re a guy who can’t see that someone so perfect is right in front of his face (and it’s not because he’s blind). I loved this book, I loved this story, I loved all of the characters, and I want Taylor’s story ASAP!
If you haven’t already, run, don’t walk, run and purchase the author’s “Siren Song” and her “Stone” trilogy (well, the first two that are out least) because, yes, she IS that good of a writer!
I'll take a guess - it's Sybarites vampire-like venom.:)
I was pretty excited to read this and James just pissed me off in the end. It took forever for him to get his head straight and I feel like he didn't grovel enough to get Victoria back. And oh boy Taylor, what a 'best friend', to have slept with Vi's first crush and then her boyfriend.. she's a self centered bitch really. She wakes Victoria up an ungodly hour just to talk about her plans, then so casually says things that make Victoria doubt herself, and she knew what James looks like (from all the news articles she mentioned her mother shoved at her about him), so when he 'mistook' her as Victoria in the shop and she let the kiss continue... Victoria is stupid when it comes to her 'best friend'.

Blind Attraction is one of those stories that makes you stop and think. But in a good way. Why are two people attracted to each other? What makes them want to be with each other? What brings them together?
When James sees the blond beauty, he vows to meet her. But before that can happen, his sight is taken from him in a car accident. He later sets out to meet her, even though he can't see.
James and Victoria have an instant connection. There's a spark between them. James can't see, but he likes what he sees in Victoria.
What will happen when he discovers Victoria is not who he thought? What will he do?
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! It was so sweet I was sad to see it end. I honestly I just couldn't put it down. I haven't read a regular romance in a while (usually I'm a Para-romance gal) and I'm so glad I got to read this book. The flow of the book was perfect. I adored all the characters and I'm hoping this will become a series. The romance and sex was hot. I enjoyed this book so much I've already recommended it to several friends even thought it not out yet. I really enjoy this author's writing style and even though AC Warneke's books tend to be paranormal I think she did a excellent job with regular romance. Looking forward to your next book.
Okay so when I first started this book I HATED Taylor....just going to say that right now. The way she treated Victoria at first was just horrible. Then finding out later what she had done because she was envious of Victoria irked me even more, BUT she redeemed herself by the end of the book. With that said, this was such a great book...showing that looks can be deceiving when it comes to matters of the heart, and what you think you want isn't always what your heart really wants.
I recommend if you have NOT read this novel then you should, it was such a great read.
After a not so great start it picked up and turned into an enjoyable read. The idea was cute: him being blind and dating the 'wrong' woman. It would have been more interesting if she had been plain looking instead of gorgeous, but hey, you can't have everything. The conversations, mostly at the start of the book, were a bit odd and at times we were just told 'they made small talk' instead of shown. But still a nice read.
I enjoyed this story but I have to say that I thought it could be more. James was a decent guy but I thought the whole premise of wanting a woman that he glimpsed in a window, seems so shallow to me. Victoria showed him in a thousand ways how incredible she was and he was an jerk in some parts.
Overall, it was a good story and I look forward to more from this author.
Zing! Although I found the story a little predictable, the author was still able to captivate me. Even when I HAD to put the book down, I was constantly thinking about the characters. I think it's safe to say that I'm falling in love with style of this author.
How much do looks matter in your life? We all have some sort of insecurities! How often do you wish you could go out without makeup and have the person sitting across from you still think you are the most beautiful person in the room or have them not notice that 5 extra pounds around your middle, or you would rather eat chocolate cake vs. a salad. If you went blind and couldn't see tomorrow and had to base all future relationships off of only what your heart and your finger tips could tell you, and then suddenly was granted your sight back! What if the person you had been with wasn't quite what you had in mind. Maybe just maybe they had a little more junk in the trunk, brunette instead of blonde, slanted eyes vs. oval, how much would looks matter to you when it comes to true love? Thats the question 30 year old James Templeton has to ask himself when he walks by a shop window and see's the object of his desires and his life is never quite the same from that moment on. 24 year old Victoria Davis decides to open her "Romance" shop(waggles eyebrows) with the help of her obnoxiously beautiful and somewhat shallow best friend Taylor. She never expected a sexy man to walk into her shop door with his laundry only to give him a piece of her mind. It's only later she notices a white cane the handsome stranger is holding and realizes he is completely blind. When these two exquisitely flawed people meet the sparks fly and the emotion and tension is thick, but some things are never what they seem. Sometimes it takes a little blindness before the heart can truly see whats right in front of you. A.C. Warneke once agian delivers! Being an avid reader I really loved this story, it has a great flow, and was a quick and charming read with a heartfelt romance with a slice of sexy on the side that I would highly recommend!! or for that matter any of A.C. Warneke's books.
It was a good read, but good for just a one-time read I suppose. I liked the chemistry between the two main characters. I gave it 3 stars because I wasn't really satisfied with how it ended. It was a happy ending btw but it just fell short for me. How they made up in the end was like wrapped up too quick... I dunno. Didn't see much of the groveling when James said that he has to grovel more in fact there was none at all! lol
Just putting this out here about their LQ on the phone...
How could he admit that he had spent nearly half of his life in foolish pursuits of the perfect woman when the perfect woman for him would never have been a blip on his radar had he never lost his sight? He was a fool………..James
I LOVED this uplifting story and the message behind it, but I especially loved the fact that it had HOT sex and STEAMY sexual situations throughout. As a reader, I crave books that are written in ways that allow me to experience the feelings of the MC’s. This is definitely one author who has that ability!
The attraction between James and Victoria is virtually instantaneous; however, there is not a “forced” feeling associated with it. From the beginning I was able to relate to Victoria; the author did an amazing job of staying true to Victoria’s character. Sometimes, authors lose the ability to consistently portray a character’s personality throughout a story, and more often than not, the personality characteristics and quirks that we grow to love in a character are often overshadowed by others, or disappear altogether. However, A.C. Warneke is truly gifted in her ability to tell a story in a way that highlights the individual characteristics of each character without giving you whiplash.
The story will pull you in once you start to read it, and I promise that you will NOT want to put it down.
I hope we will get to read more about James and Victoria in the future!

This was a fun romance to read. James sees an attractive woman of "his type" at a store she works in and plans to meet her when a car accident leaves him temporarily blind. He figures he would use his blindness to lure her in, only he doesn't realize he falls in love with a completely different looking woman from the same store. All during the time he is romanticizing Victoria, he sees the unknown Taylor in his mind - the tall leggy blonde bombshell he saw prior to his blindness, not the smaller lovely honey blonde whom he really is with. So, when he finally gets his sight back...well...that's things get interesting for both of them.
An enjoyable read. A bit difficult to read at first as the story stumbles to finds its pace, then it flies along fine to the happy ending.
Everything is not always as the eyes can see. I downloaded this one as a free read, and I enjoyed it. It had a great premise; Hot, rich guy sees a beautiful girl that he wants to meet, but looses his vision before he can-he then meets who he "thinks" is the girl and falls for her charm and inner beauty and then it gets interesting. What I did not love about the book was Victoria's low self esteem and how it impacted her decisions, Taylor's demeanor, attitude and entitlement, and how poorly James handled the situation when he regained his sight. Overall, I love a romantic story with a HEA ending, but this could have been so much deeper/richer. For the most part it was a feel good lighthearted read.
This book was an amazing read in my opinion. It goes to show that you shouldn't always base an opinion on a person because of their looks. Even if someone doesn't look like a model, they can still have a great personality and soul.
I couldn't put this book down and it just touched me greatly because of how heartfelt it was and how amazing the characters were written.
You have the rich goody-too shoes man, and the typical girl next door and it shows that love can overcome obstacles that are set in your way.
I defiantly recommend this book to anyone who is just looking for an amazing love story.
Reading it so far: a very cute story with great chemistry between the characters. However, if the word "zing" is mentioned one more time....
UPDATE *groan* I've counted 13 zings so far, and I'm less than a fifth way into the book. Someone's gonna get hurt soon. But the story's still pretty good!
FINISHED Definitely a hot, sexy story. I loved it. However, if you're not into the "love-at-first-sight/jealous-bff-and-long-lost-sister/mistaken-identity" type of cliches, you probably won't like this book as much. Overall, an enjoyable read, although again I must say, there were one too many zings for my liking.
I was so looking forward to reading this book because I loved the whole concept of the story. I was definitely entertained but I have to say that Victoria kind of got on my nerves a little and so did Taylor ~ I found myself more than once questioning why Victoria was even friends with Taylor. I had to force myself from jumping ahead to the time when James finally got his eyesight back and saw Victoria for the first time. lol I LOVED LOVED LOVED the epilogue ~ it was so damned adorable and made up for all the things that annoyed me in the rest of the story. Oh and I loved when James and Victoria first meet ~ so cute and funny!!
A uber cute story. I found myself unable to put this book down and read it in a few hours. It was just a uplifting romance story that makes you feel good. Hopefully there is a squeal because I want to know what happens next.
Pretty predictable but a good "beach" read. Although it is predictable it is well written and doesn't get boring. this is a romance book that is for people that believe in romance and that instant spark between two people.
I enjpyed this book so much.I mean their were laughter, romance and I do mean romance and I kinda got mad in it a bit as well. The way the guy treated the girl. But it was a awesome book and I most certainly will read more of this authors books.
Excellent read!!! Clearly 5 stars but I'd give it more! A refreshing story with believable characters, just the right amount of sexual tension and no cliffhangers. A highly recommended must read!!!
Wow, I kinda already assumed that Taylor and Victoria had the same father, so no surprises there. I had a feeling that Victoria and James were going to have a daughter. I kinda thought that Taylor was a totally b*tch to Victoria.
Chocolate Orgasm sounds delicious ;)
