This was an intriguing story and certainly well plotted. It could have used a good copy editor, but it was certainly entertaining. I look forward to future novels by this author.

I am sad to say that Intuitions Nightmare is one of the worst books I have ever read. Had I not agreed to review it here on Goodreads, I would have stopped reading before I reached Chapter 2.

This book is horribly written. Ashley Pearce constantly changed tenses, sometimes even in the same sentence. She also kept changing the tone of the main character, Aidriana; this character, who is supposedly a high school senior, started off in a very stilted voice (e.g., "tears devoured my eyes in a searing burn") but then swung wildly between pretentiousness and unrealistic "teen talk." In what world would a teenager say either that she "instantly melted into the ice blue eyes of my love" or that, upon learning her best friend was pregnant, she "was suddenly having extreme thought vomit," much less both? Consider this particularly egregious passage in Chapter 2, when Aidriana goes to the hospital to visit her friend Alexa:

[The receptionist] looked up at me with little interest.

"Did you need help?" she barked.

"Well, I'm here to see a friend of mine and . . ."

She cut me off quickly, "Name?"

"Uh. Alexa," I stammered. The woman was horribly rude and I had never felt so disrespected.

"Uh. I need a last name," she shot back.

And that was the final straw for me. I couldn't believe how horrible this woman was being. "First of all," I looked down at her name tag and smirked, "Brenda. There is no reason to talk to me like a pile of shit. This is a hospital and most people aren't visiting this hell hole for the fun of it.. How dare you be such a disrespectful, bitter, heartless bitch."

She looked at me, eyes wide and jaw dropped. She was clearly speechless. "I . . . I'm . . . I apologize, miss," she stuttered.

And, yes, the punctuation errors are Pearce's as well.

Pearce also repeatedly uses words incorrectly. For example, characters regularly "stammered," rather than staggered, around a room. She could have used the services of a good copy-editor to catch not only her many infelicitous turns of phrase, but also her many misspellings (e.g., calling a loved one "hunny," rather than "honey").

I received a free copy of Intuitions Nightmare from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I was surprised at the level of suspense and excitement in this story. The teen characters were believable, and although of the sort that cusses like it's in vogue, (not a personal preference), I felt they were real characters. Some phrases and instances were rougher, in that it seemed repetitive, or a strange reaction to what the character was feeling previously. But overall--the suspense and the believability of it made me very forgiving. I enjoyed it. I kept wondering what was the truth of everything, what would happen next--even talking to myself of how they should or shouldn't have done this or that. Such a investment certainly indicates I found them real. The story was very intriguing! And the end...that was a delicious surprise.

Overall, I think we can expect great books from the author in the future. She feels very promising.

WOAAAA.. what a mind blowing book.. at first this storyline seemed like it was headed in the direction of the butterfly effect but after reading further on I thought the butterfly what???? I mean this book has more twist and turns than six flags....It kept my interest and that isn't a easy thing to do considering I usually only read Urban Fantasy... Anywho if Intuitions Nightmare had to be summed up in one sentence it would have to definitely be NOTHING AND I MEAN NOTHING IS WHAT IT SEEMS...

Intuitions Nightmare was a book that kept me in a state of curiosity about what was going to happen next. A book that can keep me enthralled and curious to the end like Intuitions Nightmare is hard to come by. I more than enjoyed this book and could not put it down. I am looking forward to this authors next book.

Intense Story...
This is a story of Aidriana who wakes from a nightmare, only to find her dreams blending into reality. Leaving her to question what is real. A good psychological thriller...great plot!
The twists and turns will keep you reading to figure it out.
Leaves one thinking..

Ashley N. Pearce’s Intuition’s Nightmare is a psychological thriller that lingers long after the last page. I went into it expecting a supernatural mystery, but what I got was something more intense
something unsettling in the best way.

The story follows Aidriana, a woman haunted by a chilling nightmare that seems too vivid to ignore. Pearce drops us right into Aidriana’s disorientation from the beginning, and as readers, we start to question reality right alongside her. Her descent into paranoia, her unshakeable anxiety, and the strange occurrences that mirror her dreams had me flipping pages late into the night.

What really worked for me was how Pearce portrayed the unraveling of Aidriana’s mind. The random blackouts and haunting visions didn’t just feel like plot devices they genuinely echoed the spiraling fear and helplessness that come with losing touch with reality. I often found myself doubting the narrative, second guessing what I had read, which I think is exactly what Pearce intended.

The tension in this book is constant. Pearce crafts an atmosphere where nothing feels safe or reliable. I kept asking myself: Is this a supernatural curse? A mental breakdown? Or something darker hiding in plain sight? That ambiguity makes the book unforgettable.

If you enjoy stories that play with perception and keep you guessing, Intuition’s Nightmare delivers. It’s not just about fear it’s about the terrifying possibility that your own mind might betray you. Pearce has written something that feels intimate and deeply disturbing, and Aidriana’s struggle felt raw and believable.

Highly recommend for fans of psychological suspense with a paranormal twist.

This book explores the fragile boundaries between dreams and reality with chilling precision. I loved how the author captured Aidriana’s descent into paranoia and confusion. There were moments I had to pause and reread because the layers were so cleverly done. I would have liked just a little more clarity toward the end, but maybe that ambiguity is what makes it so compelling.

Twisty, turny, and deliciously dark — this story keeps the reader in suspense from the very start. As the plot unfolds, you begin to wonder what’s real and what’s a dream. It’s the kind of book that pulls you in, blurs the lines between reality and imagination, and doesn’t let go until the final page.

Interesting book. Duel personality or fantasy life when the real one is too hard to handle.

An decent read, though I feel it could have been done better.

The concept of the mind retreating and creating a fantasy to exist in is one I have always been interested by. As this is the main focus, I had hoped to be enthralled - instead I was a little disappointed.

The storyline felt a disjointed and unfinished in places, with gaps where more detail or emotional content would have been well placed. The ending, although tying up the story, felt rushed after such a slow build up.

Overall this was an okay read, with an interesting concept, but it could have been done better.
