Thomas Hardy was one of the greatest Victorian novelists and twentieth-century poets, exploring themes of the human experience and challenging sexual and religious conventions in a way that few other books of his time did. Collected here in this mini compact tome are comprehensive plot summaries and character profiles from each of his fourteen novels, complemented by two-color illustrations throughout.
When I'm not committing various sacrilegious acts (literarily speaking) with and to the works of Dickens, Twain, Joyce, Shakespeare, and other greats, I have the best day job in the world--owning and running Her Bookshop, an independent bookstore in East Nashville, Tennessee.
Another one (there are lots) that is a helpful little book for refreshing your memory on Hardy's novels (no poetry here) or if you are intrigued by his writing but aren't quite sure if they're for you. Obviously there are spoiler alerts (shock) but Hardy is one of those authors whose works are not the plot but everything else.
