First, although very short, the author conveyed a wonderful story about a little boy who had 'dreams' that saved the lives of many plane crash victims. She also made this reader form an opinion of the characters, that's how real they were. David was a scared little boy who felt the love of his father and his uncle deeply, as young children often can.

What tore me apart was how he felt less comfortable around his mother. during the crisis, I understand the mother was scared for her husband, but her reactions to things David said were so far out of line that I instantly disliked her and doubted her ability as a nurturing parent.

I would say that is excellent development by the author, especially considering the length of the story! Sadly, one line spoken by the mother cost the book a star!

This is a short but intense drama about a young boy and his deep connection with his dad. It’s an emotionally gripping drama that may at times bring you to tears. The storyline will capture your attention from the beginning and keep your interest until the very end. It may be brief, but it packs quite a punch.

Great

Great little short story! It also makes you think deeper and wonder about the beliefs or miracles that other people face.

A small boy with a loving father and distant mother... the father travels a lot with his job.
Plane crashes off course in dense forest... there are survivors but most are badly hurt...
the boy starts to dream about being with his dad.

This was a novella but it packed a punch and stayed with me for ages.... compelling and intriguing it seemed as if the book might lead somewhere on a future novel but I cannot see anything her booklist to indicate that is the case.

This is one of the first books I got for my kindle. It is a short, feel-good, paranormal story with an implied HEA. The author develops the plot around David, nine, a child of Bruce and Gloria Hines. Bruce is required to take an unplanned plane trip just before Christmas and his return is first late, then out of contact and reported missing. The family of grandparents, aunts and uncles gather to wait for any news of the crash which does not come.

That night David has a dream about his father and sees him at a plane crash. How he is able to convince one adult of his seemingly imaginative dream being more than a made up story and the struggles that the survivors go though are strings that pulled at my heart. You’ll have to read the book to find out if that happens to you.

I love this story , it is so sad to think as we grow older we lose the ability to believe in thinks we can't see . perhaps if we could still believe this would be a better world .

Short and engrossing.

A story about a connection between two people that is strong enough to impact the course of events. The story may be fiction but you would like to believe such things happen. And I'm certainly not implying that they don't.

This was a short story and I really wanted it to go on, to see what David did with his gift after saving his father. Would people take advantage of his gift or did it only work with his family?

A quick and sweet read, using a little boy's point of view, with lovable major and secondary characters and a not so nice mommy (an interesting and unusual twist in this kind of fiction).

How strong a love David has for his father. Sometimes you have to believe in more than what can be proven.

Total Score: 5/5

Summary:
David had the perfect life. Even when his mother occasionally lost her temper with his his father was always there to smooth hing over until the day when he went away on a business trip and the plane went missing. His mother withdrew leaving David lost. If it wasn't for his Uncle Paul, his father's brother, he would have been alone in a house full of people. Then a remarkable thing happened, David began to dream about what was happening to his dad, but who would believe a young child?

This was a very compelling short story that held me spellbound until the very end. I only wish it had been longer if only to add to the suspense and drama.
