Gabrielle Raiz is an author, a keen foodie and health-loving educator who perhaps surprisingly started her working life as a dentist. She has a knack for making things practical and understandable and has a flexible approach to her food and her yoga.

Gabrielle has recently expanded her food writing to publish 2 top selling books "Green Smoothie Magic" and "132+ Delicious Salads, Dressings and Dips". All of her recipes are fuss-free adaptable recipes which most importantly use easy to find ingredients that anyone can make. Some embody beautiful simplicity of 1 or 2 ingredients while others are marvellously complex, but never hard to make!

Gabrielle's talent as an author was crystallized through much online writing and of course with the publishing of her highly successful first book: "Hot Yoga MasterClass" (which is now finally, recently available on Amazon).

Her hallmark style has an easy, intelligent and conversational tone with a touch of humor!

In both her currently chosen fields (!) of nutrition and yoga she has built a solid reputation for creating products of beauty and above all, quality. "What you eat and how you move are 2 fields in which being mindful and present are vital", Gabrielle says. "I love that I help people do both!"

As the "Hot Yoga Doctor" she helps tens of thousands of people every month in every corner of the planet improve their yoga practices by demystifying all things yoga, hot yoga and Bikram Yoga™.

Something you may not know about Gabrielle (and rather unusual for a yoga instructor) is that she used to race motorcycles! But as she's been known to say "the last time I rode a motorbike was to go and buy a pregnancy testing kit". Her daughter is now 10!

Amazing. I flipped through it a bit in my yoga studio waiting room and had to have it. It's in depth and technical for each pose in bikram/hot yoga. The photographs are excellent in showing the progression of poses and common errors. Raiz teaches best practices to avoid injury, which I've found differs from what some instructors say in class. However, Raiz provides sound reasons for why her method is safer. I've begun incorporating her advice during class and have seen noticeable improvement.

It is what it promises to be: a textbook, though some refer to it as their "hot yoga bible." Either way, it's an incredible slog to get through cover to cover. Hot yoga is very different from other styles, particularly vinyasa, so be prepared to have what you thought to be foundational yoga knowledge contradicted.

Great book , can explain many mistakes you may do without even realise .
This is why I am giving 5 star :)
The only problem is that is big (A4) and heavy and not so easy to even read .
Also a big penalty is the black and white photos .

I will return to this book regularly. So much helpful information in this text, often to the point of being overwhelming. I focused on one pose at a time, not in the proper hot sequence but rather on poses I want to improve.

I've been looking for years for a Hot Yoga book to recommend to my yoga clients. I've always recommended Bikram's Hot Yoga book with a disclaimer...it's not very informative, the photos are not necessairly of perfect alignment, but it's the only one out there. No more looking around. This is the finest yoga book I have seen. It gives clear concise instructions, valuable photos of how to do and not do a pose, it's beautifully shot, gorgeous graphics and FULL of information. If you do Hot Yoga it is your investment to a better practice. [close:]

Love it. I've been studying a pose a week, and it's really been helping me with my technique. Clear, concise, masterful. A book well worth purchasing for even the recreational yoga student.

I'm not sure I'll ever actually be done reading this book but I have gotten through the whole thing once. It is a great reference for the hot yoga poses.

Got this class for my teacher training and am so impressed with it. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to teach or further practice in hot yoga.
