Daniel Ruiz García (Sevilla, 1976) es escritor, periodista y especialista en comunicación. Su primera novela, Chatarra, obtuvo el Premio de Novela Corta de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid y, años después, inspiró un corto cinematográfico preseleccionado para los Oscar en 2006. Le siguieron cinco novelas, que le han valido reconocimientos como el V Premio de Novela Corta Villa de Oria o el Premio Onuba de Novela. Sus obras más recientes son las novelas Todo está bien (2015) y La gran ola (2016, XII Premio Tusquets Editores de Novela), y el conjunto de historias titulado Maleza, que con su publicación fue saludado como «el especial poeta del extrarradio de las ciudades españolas» (Juan Ángel Juristo, Abc Cultural). El calentamiento global (2019) es su última novela.
