When I couldnt sleep this one put me out every time. Took me like a year to finish. This book was unbelievably boring far too many towns and not enough tales.

Written in the old-fashioned manner, filled with obscure facts. Charming in small doses.

Henry Charlton Beck (1902-1965) was New Jersey’s pre-eminent folklorist, with six excellent volumes to his credit. Great material captured in an individual writing style.
