Thirty years haave passed since insurgent students compelled the inclusion of Black Studies into the curriculum of colleges and universities. Born out of centuries of of freedom struggles, Black Studies challenges the exclusion, marginalization, and oppression of people of color within and outside the academy. Black Studies intersects various methodologies and offers new perspectives, revising traditional assumptions and organization and organizational frameworks. Black Current Issues, Enduring Questions is informed by research in a number of Sociology, Political Science, Education, History, Religious Studies, Literature, Art, Film, Cultural Studies, Women's Studies, Ethnic and Diaspora Studies.
