This book contains violence, sex and graphic situations intended for adult 18 and above.
This read is not for the faint of heart. It will focus on her assault, abuse and her recovery from drug and sex addiction.
At the age of eighteen, Ana Walters lost her mother, her home and her freedom. Within a week after her mother's burial, she was sexually abused by someone close to her. A few months after the assault, she was still trapped. Then one day, she managed to escape her living nightmare.
During her quick escape, she meets a woman who will help her. In the early stages of her recovery, she meets Duke Henderson. With both people dedicated to help Ana recover, what can possibly go wrong?
The after effects of her abused state started to haunt her. It also didn't help that she was strongly attracted to Duke. With all the never-ending hurdles, will Ana finally be free of her demons?

Dark Erotica... definitely drew me in. The first few chapters were great. Then it just seemed like the author was trying to hard to make it dark. Events were scattered. I couldn't relate to any of the characters.
The only thing I enjoyed was Hunter.... and even he could of had more to him.
I hate to say this but I just feel like the author just threw this book together.
I think this is the darkest, most f'ed up situation of a book that I have ever read...which also makes it a favorite.
The poor main character is beyond the norm. From the time she is a child, she becomes afraid of the world--sheltered as a child until an adult. And then, all hell breaks loose. Her protective bubble pops and she is used and abused by someone she sincerely loved and trusted, leading her down a very dark path that just gets darker and darker.
Truly, sincerely, this book is not for the faint of heart. I will stress that...
DO NOT READ THIS BOOK IF YOU ARE AFFECTED BY RAPE SCENES, DRUG ABUSE, PHYSICAL ABUSE, ETC.
It involves some very gruesome, disturbing fears that Pamela does NOT hold back from. I'm talking the worst kind of rape, physical/mental/emotional abuse, drug abuse vulnerability and forced--very forced--then there is psychological and physical dependency. Seriously, the list can go on and on.
Regardless of these warnings, the book is honest, straight forward, and despite the horror, just remember: to someone, somewhere, this could be a true story...
FINALLY something that's not the same thing all over again ... An original story of what life is like when you're held captive, mentally, emotionally and physically .... Ana was such a sweet girl that had run of the mill bad luck and Doug ... I HATE HIM ... I was so angry the entire book.
I fell hard in love with Logan ... such a sweet and kind young man ... then there's Hunter ... How can I choose? Both want to help her, save her from this nightmare and even try to make it right.
I must say that Havoc is so very different from any of the other books that Pamela Ann has written. It was dark, intense it had angst so much angst. Ana has tragedy in her life and suffers abuse at the hands of her step-brother Doug. While reading this book I wanted someone to come along and do to Doug what he was doing to Ana but Pamela Ann followed another path. Ana struggles throughout the story all the while showing courage and holding onto her humanity and most of all hope of breaking free. In this book we meet Logan who is concerned for Ana along with her only friend and Hunter who shows Ana kindness...is her savior although he is not your typical knight in shining armor. Have tissues ready as you will need them while reading this book as you will need them once you see what Ana endures! I hope there is a companion book to this one so we can see what else happens in Ana's life...who will she trust...Logan will she trust and love him or will she trust and love Hunter... time will tell.
I am a really, really big fan of Pamela Ann's writing, but this book isn't up to par at all. It seems to me like a missed opportunity to create a very nice dark novel with great characters.
I am disappointed, the story had a lot more potential than it has been given. It felt rushed at the end and overall shallow. After I have finished reading it, I still have a lot of questions. What exactly happened between her mother and her stepbrother. What was Hunter's real job, informant/undercover? What exactly was the role of the stepfather, because he never really entered the story. Why didn't Logan take Ann with him if he suspected foul play, he just left her there? I don't understand.

WOW! Pamela Ann has brilliantly written a very dark story. She guts readers apart as we learn of what is happening to Ana! She created a character Hunter that I thought I would hate, but ended up loving. She really captured the essence of someone being torn down and having to fight the demons within her family and her life. Unlike some writers, Ana is not magically cured through love! She is a realistic character that will always be left with the scars of her past and must fight each day to find her own happiness. Fabulous job Pamela Ann.
Wow can't believe this book. It really brought a lot of courage to see what Ana went through in such little time. I myself felt like jumping in the book and giving my hand out to Ana. I felt so sorry for her while at times I felt like slapping her myself she could have left each and every time Doug would and she would still stay there. I know she was scared heartless but I would have done the possible to get out of a crisis like that. I so wanted to see her w Logan but after the weekend she had w Hunter her heart really went to him. She was an idiot to feel she had something for Hunter he did treat her like a special person when he was w her but c'mon why sleep w her. I had confused moments in this book. But i was so shocked w the effects of the book i really didn't want to put book down. At the end Ana's happiness what all that mattered good for her. Hopefully Hunter will change his ways for her. Great job Pamela w this book. I loved it even if u had me in such shock w all these scenes Ana had to go through. It makes u think that their are really woman out there that go through life like this and we don't know about it.
Pamela Ann has given us a story that is absolutely AMAZING. Ava's story is one of horrendous tragedy and horror with a happy ending. This story makes Mr think of the classic song from Annie..."The sun will come out tomorrow."
I had to remind myself that this is a work of fiction. The story is very believable. This book makes me want to read everything written by Pamela Ann. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of the darker reads.
Well done Pamela :) This book is amazing and worthy of way more then 5 stars.
This one of the best books I have read! At first I thought I was not going to be able to read it. It is very graphic when she is with her step brother. But I had to see what became of Ana. What a strong young women the Pamela Ann wrote her. I don't write reviews at all but this book really was really good
Ana Walters - is our heroine and she hasn’t had it great. She lost her father during a mall shooting at age ten. Her mother remarried when she was 15, to Bob. Her mom died due to an accident and within a weeks time her Stepbrother, Doug starts raping her. Her Stepfather does nothing as he is drinking so much and then disappears early on in the story. About halfway through the book, Doug gives her to a drug dealer, Hunter to pay back a debt. She is used again by Hunter to gain information on what Doug is doing. What I can’t figure out is what Ana doesn’t grow a pair and fight back? She doesn’t tell, she doesn’t try to escape Doug, she leaves the house with Logan but never once tells him what Doug is doing. THATS CRAY CRAY!!! To add insult to injury, Doug injections her with drugs and then she’s gang raped.
Doug Mitchell - Anti-hero and boy oh boy does he have problems. Once his Stepmother dies, he preys on his Stepsister. Rapes her on repeat and no one stops him. Then he steals from Hunter! BIG NO NO!! This is when things get out of control.
Hunter - he makes a deal with Ana after one night to keep tabs on Doug. However, Hunter doesn’t really understand the horrors that Ana goes through at Doug’s hand until she almost dies. Hunter does save her and she does live and goes to San Diego to start over. Eventually, Hunter finds her. I love Hunter for her. He’s so patient with her.
Side note...can anyone explain why the Stepfather’s name started as Bob and then changed to Bill?!?!

This is the story of Ana Walters. She lost her mother, her home and her freedom within a week after mother's burial. When Ana was 10 years old her and her father wen to the mall and in the food court there was a gunman shooting up the place and the gunman stood over her with the gun aimed at her and her father pushed her out of the way and he was killed instead. Five years later Ana's mother married again to Bob and he had a son named Doug. Doug was her friend for about a month. When they first became step brother and step sister they were fourteen and fifteen years old. Then there is Logan Green next door who tries to befriend Ana and Hunter who she cannot figure out. She doesn't know if he is good or bad, she thinks he is bad but in the end you really have to figure it out. This book is a very dark tale of drugs, abuse and it had so much angst. It hurt to read about the abuse that Ana incurred in her young life. The sad part is that her step brother the person she thought she could trust, Doug took her virginity and she would never be the same. It is a hard read but it was very compelling and I couldn't put it down until I was finished. I love Pamela Ann books.
I appreciate books showing point of view victims. None of us can truly understand the power monster have over victims. And it's classic that more often than not we live around people like Dough not knowing what they do. Book kept me half night as I couldn't put away.
I have read most of Pamela's books and enjoy most of them. This book I had really been looking forward too however I was rather disappointed. The book starts off really good and has it's moments throughout but it has so many unanswered questions. so her step dad just ups and leaves without a word but after she escapes he sends a sorry note. um what? And why have her sort of start a thing with Logan, him saying how much he has always liked her, her promising that when she's ready for a relationship she'll be with him. then hunter appears and they get together for good and it just jumps like oh hunter and Logan are good friends and such. um there is something missing. It's good that she ended up with hunter but like nothing happened to segue her almost relationship with Logan to hunter. it wasn't bad but I definitely think the ending needed more
Love pamela, and her books. However, even though she asks you to keep an open mind reading this I just can't take to it. I read personally for escapism. To go into a world filled with unconditional, fierce and crazy love with a touch of danger and will they, won't they?, not forgetting the HEA!!. And although Ana kinda gets her HEA of sorts, this is not my sort of reading. Can't say Ive read anything like it before nor do I plan to again. If this is called dark erotica they can keep it, I felt depressed and low reading this. Sorry Pamela I'll stick to your more happier stuff x
Ana loses her dad in tragic shooting at 10, is home schooled, and then loses her mom at 18. With no other family and no were to go she stays with her Step father and Step-brother, when the abuse begins. Will she be able to break free and start her own life? Will she find any allies to help her escape?
The book was very well written, but be prepared it is a dark book. It will make you cry and break your heart for Ana.
It was hard to give this book three stars because I'm a huge fan of Pamela Ann. However, this just wasn't my favorite book. I like dark erotica as well as the next guy but this just wasn't it for me. I missed the romance. I think she should have come out of it a little sooner or spent more time with Hunter. I wanted to see more of the romance from them. Anyway; I liked the grittiness of the book but I hated the LACK of romance.
Dark Erotica... definitely drew me in. The first few chapters were great. Then it just seemed like the author was trying to hard to make it dark. Events were scattered. I could relate to any of the characters.
The only thing I enjoyed was Hunter.... and even he could of had more to him.
I hate to say this but I just feel like the author just threw this book together.
Very different from Pamela Ann's other books. This was very dark and haunting. It comes with a warning, if you've been traumatized by drugs or is a victim of rape and sexual assault, then think before you read this book.
This book has a goo ending, although it took the heroine too much bad experience before she found safety and solace. And even in the end, she wasn't in a perfect state, she still gained her freedom.
Not for weak at heart. Abuse of all kinds are in this book. I think I enjoyed it because it's not a fairy tale ending. Ana shows us that even though losing both parents far to early in desperate tragedies that it's possible to be a survivor. Abuse from her step brother almost drove her to the end but she was determined to make it out alive.
This definitely wasn't Pamela Ann's usual writing style but I must admit it was pretty good. I need to ask if this is a series because it felt uncompleted to me, even though the novel was so compelling.
I love Pamela's writing but this book seemed to be lacking her normal boldness. The basic story was good but Ana's emotional turmoil came with repetitive internalizing. This story felt as though something was missing.
I haven't rated this book because I'm not sure how I feel about it. I've read several of this author's books and I'd even consider a few among my favorites but I feel an irredeemable line was crossed here.
