The library had this book, so I checked it out when I was just starting to read about self-defense. Besides being extremely old (published 1978) and therefore generally out of date in terms of weaponry, the tactical information it contained wasn't that spectacular. Some of the home defense information was helpful, but for the most part any modern firearm self-defense book will do a better job than this (see Armed Response and The Concealed Handgun Manual, for example).
