Caroline Seebohm conducts a guided tour of England's country houses, to reveal the beauty, graciousness, and idiosyncracies of rural English life. 350 full-color photographs.
Listed by DPL as a recommended read for Downton Abbey fans, I was easily drawn to the homes of the English countryside. Some of those featured date back into the 1500s with lots of Gothic, Tudor, Elizabethan, Jacobean, Restoration, William and Mary, Queen Anne, and Georgian stylings to explore from the casual to the chic. The family chapter photos feature all the "kids", the furry kind that is. Enjoy with a nice cup of tea!
