Excellent restaurant and excellent cookbook. So far, I have made about the third of the recipes in this cookbook and all of them were delicious. I bought a curry plant because of this book. :)

Ajanta is an Indian restaurant in Berkeley, CA that goes beyond the usual 8 or 9 dishes offered at most Indian restaurants. They have a constantly rotating menu and most dishes won't be on again for at least two years.

This is the cookbook that tells you how to make those dishes. Fortunately, the book is almost as good as the restaurant. Lots of photos for the difficult recipes. And good shopping lists. That is really helpful.

Given that about one month worth of our meals are cooked from this book every year, I think I have to give it five stars. Excellent find.
