Snow Dates #2

Jack Frosting

Rate this book
A drunken encounter. An unexpected reunion. How long can a newly single dad resist a bare-chested hunk of a housemate?

Clayton
My wife’s infidelity came as no surprise. However, I was surprised when she walked out of my life completely, leaving me to raise a tweenager grappling with puberty. Out of a job and under financial strain, I decided to rent out the extra bedroom in my basement. As soon as I met Jack, I knew I was headed for trouble, especially with the amount of time he spent shirtless.

Jack
At first I thought he was pretending, but the man I was about to rent a room from didn’t remember blowing me in a bathroom stall earlier this year. Normally, I’d be insulted, but it’s not like he was looking at my face. Then there was what I found behind the locked basement door. Once I saw that, there was no going back. I needed to show this sweet single dad that it was okay to take what he wanted, especially if it ended up with me on my back and a smile on my face.

Jack Frosting is a gay, age gap, rom-com with cameos from Snow Balling. It is recommended to read the Snow Dates series in order. This holiday novella features a BDSM playroom, a “frosting” fetish, a reluctant top and an insatiable bottom.

This is the second book in the Snow dates series and we meet Clayton a single dad juggling his teenage son, his marriage break up and being a horny guy!! We also meet Jack the 6ft 3 gym buff who’s actually a slutty sub, who brings out the best in Clayton!

This is a fun, sweet but spicy Christmas read, just what needed! I loved everything about the basement, I loved the kinks and I’m a sucker for a cock cage!!

I loved how they both navigated these new feelings and a new relationship, balancing a dom/sub dynamic.

Despite this being a spicy novella, it was also full of feelings, cuddles and neck kisses.

For the level of shamelessly good s m u t this novella has, you get hella feelings and sweetness. It’s like a little Christmas treat. Like, if a Little Debbie Christmas Tree cake was a book.

Same as Snowballing, this novella is full of kinky, steamy fun, but it doesn’t skimp on the romance and love. You don’t have to wonder how they got to the HEA part because you get the good-good loud and clear. It’s not just spicy bits because there isn’t a lack of romantic storyline. I hate when a novella doesn’t give enough detail, or misses important ones to quicken the pace. I don’t want to be left thinking that there’s no evidence of love/a HEA.

I love that this author always writes their characters how they would sound/think. It adds a level of realism that I will never not appreciate. In this novella, both Jack and Clayton come off as “normal” dudes, living life and enjoying the ride. Even if the plot seems far fetched, it could definitely happen.

The only things that dinged it as far as the rating is concerned were weird things with the timeline and some missed errors. The timeline wonkiness could be just me misunderstanding, though, and I’m fairly unconcerned with the errors because they weren’t exactly big ones that messed anything up. Oh, and I hate that the cat wasn’t shown more. I love books with pets😩🥺

4.25/5! I can’t wait to see what’s what next holiday season! I love this spicy little universe.

This was such a fun Christmas story full of sweetness, snark and so much steam and chemistry.
After a bitter divorce Clayton is keen to explore his bisexuality. He has a drunken encounter with Jack in a bar toilet. Fast forward a few months later and Jack ends up renting a room in Clayton's basement. Jack is surprised to see Clayton who appears to not be able to remember Jack. But there's undoubtedly a lot of chemistry between them. When Jack finds Clayton's secret room in the basement, he's determined to get Clayton. But then one time become more and they can't stay away from each other. I absolutely loved reading this story.

3.5*

This was really quite spicy which is always a winning point, but the relationship between them was very instant (or at least from their second meeting). I would’ve preferred a little bit more slow burn, but otherwise it was a pretty good read.

This is a sexy number for a Christmas present. After Clayton's wife leaves him, he has a hook up in a bar where he's so drunk, he doesn't remember who the guy was. Turns out, it's the guy he starts renting his basement, Jack, the very basement that has a few surprises. These guys have a fun time fling, hiding it from Clayton's son, playing frisky games and loving their life. I enjoyed the lack of angst, the joy they found in freedom to be who they were and their openness in expressing their wants. It's a fun book and definitely better than a kiss under the mistletoe. I received a copy of this book and this is my voluntary opinion.

Oh how incredibly spicy this book was. Good lord it was off the rails smutty, spicy, sarcastic and kinky. If you desire a book that makes you wonder how can he do that? Did this author do extensive research on said topics, did he test drive some of the dungeon toys? Does he have a dungeon. This book was all things sarcastic and kinky. Who knew someone could write such a tale?I loved everything in this book from the sweet relationship to the dorky dad and his kid. If you follow this author you will find he loves jocks and jockstraps. And both play a very important role in this tale of kink in and out of the dungeon. The humor was all that and then some. This guy is definitely on my radar!

This book is fire 🔥

I loved the first book so knew I’d enjoy this one too. And I gotta say, it didn’t disappoint.

I loved how Clayton and Jack came together, and the way Jack found out about Clayton’s basement room gave me a giggle.

The spice in this one was off the charts. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Lots of really hot spicy scenes, with an intriguing basement room and a nice snarky teenager. I didn't quite find the exceptional humour of Snowballing but it was really good to revisit those characters. There was a good buildup of feelings to go with the physical chemistry.

Man, oh man, for a holiday novella this sure does not skimp on the plot or the spicy bits! With the characters, spicy scenes and of course the snark that I have come to associate with anything Finn writes, this is the perfect holiday read! I loved this single dad Clayton and his adventures with Jack!

So much kinky smutty fun! Jack and Clayton were each so likeable on their own, and together they were amazingly sweet. I was not expecting the basement room, but hot damn was it fun! I really liked Jack and Henry's interactions as well. For the length of this novella, we got enough backstory to feel that the characters and relationship were well established. I did not read Snow Balling yet, but had no issues with this as a standalone. Added it to my TBR!

What a lovely little Christmas treat this was!! The level of kink and unabashedly amazing smut included in this quick novella, Finn (and Clayton + Jack) will definitely leave you more than satisfied and making a trip to the shower to cool off from all the steam! 🥵

𝐼𝓉 𝒾𝓈 𝒶 𝑔𝑜𝒹𝒹𝒶𝓂𝓃 𝑔𝒾𝒻𝓉 𝓉𝑜 𝒷𝑒 𝒾𝓃𝓈𝒾𝒹𝑒 𝓂𝓎 𝒷𝓊𝓉𝓉𝒽𝑜𝓁𝑒, 𝒾𝓈𝓃’𝓉 𝒾𝓉?”

Even though this was similar to Snowballing, Jack Frosting had its own unique style of kink (and steam). Clayton and Jack’s initial meeting was by chance, that developed into more than either one asked for. Finn’s directness with the scenes were appreciated, kicking the spice into high gear!

“𝓨𝓸𝓾 𝓭𝓸𝓷’𝓽 𝓶𝓪𝓴𝓮 𝓸𝓾𝓽 𝓮𝓷𝓸𝓾𝓰𝓱 𝓲𝓷 𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝓴𝓲𝓽𝓬𝓱𝓮𝓷, 𝔂𝓸𝓾’𝓿𝓮 𝓰𝓸𝓽 𝓽𝓸 𝓭𝓸 𝓲𝓽 𝓲𝓷 𝓪 𝓭𝓲𝓯𝓯𝓮𝓻𝓮𝓷𝓽 𝓸𝓷𝓮?”

So we had the opportunity to meet yet another crotch goblin, just with an attitude (hormones). Though, I have to admit, Trey still holds the title for sarcasm, with his witty humor and joke full demeanor. Hopefully, Henry can get through this hormonal slump with plenty of ideas about how to drive his Dad’s crazy with quick-witted humor.

Holiday Cheer Meter: 1/5
(Where 1 is as Christmassy as 'Die Hard' and 5 is more like 'Elf')

1st person, past tense, dual PoV
Clayton (35), unemployed
Jack Bonner (26), personal trainer

Soooo, I normally reserve my Christmas reading for Nov/Dec, aaaaand this is mid-February, buuuuuuut I was pretty sure based on the previous book, Snowballing and the synopsis that it wouldn't be heavy on the holiday vibes (and I was right - it concludes Christmas morning but contains almost none of the typical lead-up of a holiday story) and I wanted to read it closer to the release date of the next book in the series, North Pole Dancer (which came out yesterday). Though some characters crossover I think the books would stand alone well as they are introduced/explained in such a way that you understand who they are and their relationships to one another, but it in no way ruins their story or steals the spotlight from the MCs of this book.

Honestly, this was just an awesome fun time. I found myself smiling often as I read the book, it just had a great vibe.

I fell for Clayton the minute he fired back, "Over my dead body" to his ex-, Jill, when she texted that she wanted their cat after she left him. In that moment a hero was born.

This book includes an element of hidden identity, which is my absolute favourite romance trope, in that Clayton does not recall that it was Jack with whom he'd had a bathroom hookup several months prior when they are later formally introduced, because, of course, small world, they are actually friends of friends. Jack remembers though, all too well, and then he discovers the secret hidden behind the locked door in the basement (it is almost certainly exactly what you are thinking it is).

Since this is a novella, the relationship progresses relatively quickly, though with a couple small time jumps it doesn't feel too fast or insta- and wasn't laid on real thick, it felt like a natural progression of two people who are compatible. I enjoyed that Clayton's son, Henry (13), was balanced perfectly within the narrative, he was a fully fleshed character and not just a plot device or scene stealer. It was amusing that in trying to show him that a gay guy can be happy and date, Jack inadvertently spurs on Clayton's jealousy. When these two finally get on the same page their chemistry is awesome and the kinky fun times begin, even while trying to keep their relationship on the downlow.

I'm excited to start the next book.

story of Clayton and Jack

This is a roommates to more holiday romance, featuring Clayton and Jack, and is book two in the Snow Dates series.

Clayton is now a single dad and is going through a divorce. He needs to get out of his head for a bit so he goes to a local gay bar, gets a little tanked and has an anonymous hook up with a guy, who frosts his face and leaves.

Months later, Jack, Gareth’s roommate (from first book), needs to find a place to live as Gareth is moving in with Eli. Eli suggests he moves in with one of his single dad friends as a roommate. When Jack arrives at the address to move in he meets the single dad, Clayton, and instantly remembers him as the guy he hooked up with at bar, but Clayton doesn’t remember him.

This is a low angst and light holiday book. Clayton not remembering Jack initially was pretty funny, especially when the penny finally drops. And boy oh boy does the quiet single dad come out to play in his BDSM room, he has a s*x room people, the dirty talk goes from zero to 100 in the blink of an eye.

Clayton’s son was a sweetie. Henry has a crush on Trey from the first book. I hope they get their own book in this series, I need to know their mural crush is going to lead somewhere.

Ben is next. Woo hoo!!!!!!!

Things to expect in this book are:
2nd book in series
MM holiday romance
Single dad x personal trainer
Small age gap (35/26)
Anonymous hook up
Roommates
BDSM play
Monster c*ck
C*ck cage & s*x toys
Spicy times & dirty talk
Found family

Bisexual Clayton's wife after being caught with another man left but also left their son and had signed away all her rights. Soon afterwards he lost his job. Looking to keep paying the mortgage he rented out the room in the basement to Jack he knew he was in trouble especially after he kept walking around with no shirt on. Jack realised that he had been blown by Clacton one night in a club but was not offended that he didn't remember as he was drunk at the time. One night Jack found that behind a usually locked basement door, there was a BDSM playroom so he determined to show Clayton a good time in there.

I enjoyed this story with the two men who had an undeniable pull between them that just couldn't be denied. Their creative use of the equipment and the efforts to hide around Clacton's son were quite amusing at times (made more funny when it became clear they had not fooled him at all). I enjoyed the interactions to the characters from the first book in the series. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

After Clayton's wife leaves him, he decides to spend a night out drinking at a local bar and ends up hooking up with a guy (Jack) in the bathroom. However, he was so drunk when Jack shows up months later to rent a room in his basement, he does not realize Jack is the guy from the bathroom.

Jack soon discovers Clayton is more than just the sweet single dad and is hiding a secret in a locked “storage room”. A secret he very much wants to “unlock” and share with Clayton. It was fun watching them grow closer together and try to hide their relationship from Clayton’s son and failing - the way they were caught was so funny! Neither men were looking for love but they found exactly what they needed in each other.

This is a sweet kinky holiday novella with lots of spice and banter along the way.

🧁ARC Review🧁

This had all things you want from Finn's writing! This short holiday novella is packed with fun, kink and a side of heart!

Jack and Clayton meet in a bathroom for a brief hot encounter. Fast forward a few months later Jack needs to find a roommate and his friend's friend, who happens to be said bathroom meetup winds up being more than he bargained for!

I love that this is a happily for now and no huge overture of love was declared. (Yes-it kind of did but didn't-you'll see what I mean!) Getting more Eli and Gareth was great too and the fact that Jack could keep nothing from Gareth left a smile on my face!

Overall! A fun kinky read sprinkled with a bit of frosting and holiday cheer!

Clayton is left with no job, debt, no wife (after she cheats on him) and a teenage son to raise! He goes to a club one night to blow off steam, has a liaison with a sexy stranger, then goes home and gets on with his life the best he can, but he is struggling financially.

Jack needs a place to live. Friends of his suggest a mutual friend who needs a lodger. Enter Clayton. What follows next is sweet and sexy as hell. I love the relationship between these 2 men. And the “oh no, he doesn’t remember it was me he hooked up with” was brilliantly handled by Finn! This book made me laugh, cry and made me a lil bit hot under the collar.
I love the understanding Jack had for Clayton’s son and the friendship they found.

Loved it

Jack Frosting || Finn Dixon

Jack and Clayton were so fun to read about! After a brief intimate encounter in a bar - which Clayton, Jack then moves in with him and recognizes him right away but turns out Clayton doesn’t remember him.

The two are immediately super flirty and after Jack discovers Claytons playroom - then slips on a left over bodily fluid and knocks himself out.. a more physical relationship begins. Clayton is all sorts of fun Dom in his playroom (and out of it) which is super steamy! 😶‍🌫️

Such a great read! Really enjoyed their story and their sweet relationship mixed with spicy fun!

I wasn't sure that Finn Dixon could match the level of snark and steam that he achieved with Snow Balling last year, but Jack Frosting easily met the challenge and has set a new bar for future Snow Dates!

I appreciate the fact that Finn can weave a full story around all the kinky sex and make it feel like a true relationship emerges from all that frosting!

If you're looking for a kinky holiday, age gap read with plenty of frosting and a HEA, then I highly recommend adding Jack Frosting to your TBR - it can be read standalone, but Snow Balling was incredibly fun too, so I do recommend reading them in order.

This book was not what I was expecting. It was so much better. I thought it was funny that Clayton didn't remember hooking up with Jack. It took him a really long time to figure it out.

These two were hot together. The séx dungeon was quite interesting to say the least. Very unexpected coming from Clayton. I'm not the biggest fan of BDSM but this was pretty light.

I loved how they just kinda let everything happen. It was very sweet. Also, loved the cameos from Eli and Gareth.

3.5* A cute story about a guy whose wife leaves him and his son and he loses his job, so takes in the friend of a friend who also needs a place to stay. Doesn't take long until they are dancing around each other and seems Clayton has a dungeon in the basement. Soon they are taking advantage while the son is at his best friend's house. It was fine and cute but the son is nearly 13, how long do you keep a dungeon in your basement a secret? LOL People must.

Fun, Sexy and Hard to put down…

Clayton, newly single dad of a 13 year old boy and now unemployed, rents his basement room to Jack, a friend of a close friend. Enjoy how Jack discovers Clayton’s adult play room, how Clayton can take control and how all the fun and steamy moments bring them closer together!!!

A quick Christmas read although I enjoyed it I was sat waiting for Clayton to realise it was Jack he hooked up with months before . Jack thinks Clayton is just good at hiding it but he was so drunk he really didn’t remember and when he realises it was a bit of an anti climax for me although Jack and Clayton climaxed no problem 🤣🤣
