This title suitable for ages 2 to 5 years. If Jesus lived inside our hearts, would it show? This delightful little story explores just that as the toddlers in the story learn to be kind and generous in a variety of situations. This is the third in a series of board books that parents can use as an introduction to Jesus and the ways in which we can have a personal relationship with him.
Good introduction to living so people can see Jesus working through us. Unfortunately, the developmental level of the text and illustrations are toddler to school age. The older kids will likely not pick this up, because it is a "baby book." Good book overall, but would have functioned better as a picture book.
I loved the sweet illustrations, and the story was lovely. We read it for our Bible story time (kids age three, three, and six) , and it opened the door for a nice discussion about how people can see Jesus through us. My six-year-old said he would give it ten stars if he could. Thanks for this book.
What a wonderful book! My granddaughter (5 yrs old) is asking questions about God.
This book helped me to let her know He's all around and that He lives in her heart if she chooses to allow him. Thank you for helping me, to help her, in getting to know Him. I'd recommend this book to all children of curiosity.
I read this book looking for a great book to help children see how Good loves them and believes they are unique. What a prefect way to do that by helping them see how Good works through them daily.
Very inspiring!!!! Encouraging !!!! Absolutely love it!!!! It speaks to the world and I think everyone including adults!!! Should read this book with an open mind and heart
Delightful illustrations and beautiful poetry will delight children and adults alike. The author encourages children to do acts of kindness so they can share the love of Jesus with others.
Cute for young kids up to around 9 years old. I loved the message of Jesus shining through the child but still emphasizing His love for the child even when they made a mistake
Sweet book that can help teach little ones to be more like Jesus. I read this to my little one as she was kicking away in my belly and will read it to her again once she's in my arms.
Sometimes it's hard to help our kids understand what being Christlike means. I loved this book because it helped me explain to my daughter how to set a Christlike example.
The complexity yet innocence found within a children's book will always amaze me. This read was quick and easy, but utterly powerful at the same time. I love reading to my children, especially when it's something meaningful and worthwhile.
Found this one in my fall book fair. It's a picture book that, on a simple level, challenges kids to put faith into action. I don't have it with me, so I can't quote it, but it runs along these lines: "If Jesus lived in my eyes, would I use them to see others' needs? If He lived in my mouth, would I use it to give words of encouragement to someone who needs it?"
It's perfect for a church nursery, but I also think it could be used with every age group to make them think about their answer to the question, "By looking at the things I do, the way I live, can other people see Jesus in me?"
Although the facts and sentiments presented in the book are theologically sound, I don't like this one. The whole book is a singsongy sort of prolonged poem, and there's something about the theoretical suggestions in the poem that goes over the heads of the age range it is meant for, I think. We'll keep it on the shelf but I wish I had bought a different book.
