Because of the ending.
I didn't saw that coming. Seriously, the ending was so unexpected.
well, if I'm going to say something about the pacing of the story. It was kind of fast.
I sometimes got confuse to POV and change of settings/scenes of the story. There's no break, on pointing whose
perspective is being talked about.
It would be much better if the author somehow made the story longer. It was too short. I was expecting some more hurt, despair, emotional conviction ,family matters and romance ;)
In short, it was lacking of something. I don't know how to explain my "something" -- maybe more emotional expression, catch up lines and scenes, like that.
But then, its still a good story, it can still be improve :)

Este libro lo podria leer mil veces y siempre querria tener mas es tan corto pero tan bien resumido que necesitaba y ala vez no tantas paginas me encanto enserio estoy enamorada de esta historia por que vemos que cuanto el amor es verdadero podemos ser mejores personas o intentar serlo y que aveces las cosas suceden y no por eso debemos querer cambiar las o ser diferentes todo sucede por algo pero que una persona que te ama realmente aun siga ahi sabiendo que estas mal eso es digno se elogio la verdad amo las historias de amor de infancia y primeras veces y segundas oportunidades y por eso me encanto este libro 😍❤️totalmente 😭😘

Un libro super corto que me dejo impactada.

Empece este libro creyendo que sería la típica historia de amor, por eso me sorprendió tanto mientras lo leía se me hacia muy raro que nuestra protagonista llevara 2 años sin ir a casa y que todos actuaran tan raro por lo cual mil teorías surgieron en mi cabeza pero nunca me espere eso, de hecho llegue a creer que Chase si era malvado o su hermano era el que estaba detrás de todas las cosas raras que ocurrían, pero cuando Chase revela que en realidad es ella la que estaba loca yo me quede como
Así que inmediatamente me puse a releer el libro y me di cuanta de que todo cobraba sentido y no se porque no lo vi antes.
En conclusión Chase es un amor y se nota que de verdad ama a Virginia y da su vida por ella.

Confieso que empecé este libro porque necesitaba despejarme, y esta fue mi oportunidad cuando vi que tenía pocas páginas y la temática "chica enamorada del mejor amigo de su hermano". Eso decía a gritos "LIBRO RELAX".
Mientras lo leía comenzaba a pegarme internamente diciéndome "¿Para qué lo empecé? Esto es malísimo". Pero lo seguí.
Critiqué a la protagonista porque la sentí un total panqueque con su actitud de Si-No-Si-No-Vení-Alejate-Blablabla.
Pero... ¡PERRRRRRDÓN! PERDÓN POR PREJUZGAR.
El final fue WOW. ¡¡No me lo esperaba!!
Incluso volví a releerlo por arriba antes de escribir esta review.
Puntos por ese final.

WOOW.... No tengo palabras para describir este libro.
Cuando vi su portada pensé que era otra historia de amor pero..... WOOW.... Ahora se que no se juzga a un libro por su portada.
Mi reacción cuando se descubre la verdad
El libro tiene menos de 100 páginas y se lee rápido, la historia hasta cierto punto es "normal" pero en este libro... Sólo puedo decir que nada es lo que aparenta.
Además quiero a un Chase ❤.

Besides all the spelling/grammar mistakes (and there are quite a few!), I really really LOVED this story! It was pretty spectacular!
I don't think I've ever read anything like this before and I've read so many books in the last year, it's crazy.
The love Chase has for Virginia is pretty amazing & what he does for her is just...NO WORDS!
If you can get through all the spelling/grammar issues of this book, it is a really really GREAT GREAT story!

Historia corta. En algún momento confunde un poco. Y luego la trama da un giro. No estuvo mal, sobre todo por qué no fue larga.

Lo leí en un día, es bastante rápido y cuando me di cuenta ya estaba a punto de terminarlo... así que me dije que lo mejor era hacerlo porque llegaba la parte interesante en donde yo asumí que el final sería muuuy diferente del real. Es una historia bastante fácil, pero no por eso predecible. Lo cual se agradece porque pensé que terminaría decepcionándome y sorpresa que no y vale la pena para leer en un día que no sabes que leer y terminas la historia en unas horas.
La historia de Chase es del tipo injusta, que de hecho parece que en un punto todos conspiran para hacerlo infeliz y arruinarle la existencia y es que a pesar de que es corta, la historia se va contando con un ritmo sino bien lento si perfecto para que leas hasta que averigües que es lo que realmente le sucede a los personajes.
Virginia se ve en la necesidad de regresar a casa de sus padres debido a una llamada de su hermano, su mamá está grave y es necesario que ella regrese para repartir tareas, para esto, Chase vive en la misma casa, los padres de Virginia y su hermano lo recibieron después de ver la vida tan difícil que tenía con sus padres. Pero... hace algún tiempo Virginia tuvo ese "pequeño" crush por Chase, siendo que es el mejor amigo de su hermano, no era algo fácil de admitir y mucho menos de sacar adelante, sobre todo porque él es algo mayor y su hermano no iba a aceptar esa relación, además de que parecía que Chase la veía más como su hermana.
Así que prácticamente hasta el final se van aclarando las cosas, ya que tanto Virginia como Chase tienen recuerdos de cosas que pasaron juntos y en la infancia. Lo que como les digo me llevo a sacar una conclusión diferente porque Virginia pensaba lo peor de Chase y él en definitiva parecía no querer negar o confirmar sus sospechas, mientras que su padre le decía que Chase era incapaz y el hermano no podía ni verlo.
Y para no arruinar la historia porque repito que el final es de esos que jamás esperas, recomendada porque es rápida y Chase me agrado *-* Así que cuando no sepan que leer, se encontrarán con que Chasing Memories a pesar de ser corta es romántica pero también realista y que logra sorprenderte :D

I was so confused reading this book was Chase the bad guy, good guy wtf was he? I so desperately wanted him to be the good guy though I really did, he's just so hot, "Virginia couldn't help but notice Chase obviously worked out, often. Had he always been so damn sexy? Yes. That's why she hadn't been able to resist. He wasn't wearing anything but a pair of faded jeans that rode low on his narrow waist. His abs were all defined." I mean I really wanted him to be the good guy it's apparent how much he cares for Gin, and how attractive he is to her, "delicious," he murmured close to her lips. His gaze dropped to the potholders between them and he chuckled. "You. Baking. Now that's a sight I won't soon forget. It's kind of sexy. You wearing nothing but an apron would be even sexier." But as I read on I soon realized that it was Gin who had the issues and not Chase, "it was a dumb move that put her butt against his crotch, but she was desperate to leave. "Keep doing that and you'll be stuck in this room for hours and we won't be talking," he warned." As the past unfolds we learn a few things I can't really mention them but they shocked me but what I loved the most was how Chase was always there and would always be there for her, "hold onto me, baby. I swear to God I'll be beside you every step of the way...if you still want me to be?" Sometimes the power of a first love is all it takes to help you through those rough patches.

Have you ever judged a book by the cover and thought hmmmm --- this looks like a good love story and then once you open and read it , it is so not what you thought it was ? That's what it was like for me when I read Chasing Memories by Adriana Law. What starts off as a nice love story with Virginia aka Gin in love with her brother's best friend Chase and the pair of them skiving off to hook up after the family visited a carnival so turns into a novel where the reader thinks OK , what the heck is happening here as it flips to what seems like Virginia at a college situation with a roommate named Lizzie and we discover that she hasn't spoken to her family in two years. Virginia is headed home after her mother has been in an accident and when she goes home , we see the family in a new light and as weird stuff starts occuring it makes the reader think , alright what's going on here? Then as the novel goes on , things are at a steady place and then the ending goes and surprises everyone and makes us think - wow , what have we just read as not to give away the story , I will leave readers with this one statement "All is not what it seems".
Readers , when you read Chasing Memories by Adriana Law think of Heartbeat by Faith Sullivan as in a way but not the exact , it is similar but not really.

AMAZING
All of us could use a friend like Chase. Loyal to a fault and strong. Stronger than most people ever hope to be.
Adriana Law. Her books are always surprising with a WOW! factor and CHASING MEMORIES didn't disappoint. It's complex characters and it shifting story line that keeps you intrigued. I did deduct 1/2 a star because of Virginia's always changing her mind. We find out way toward the end. So if you too get a little frustrated, hang in there. All makes sense in the end.
Other reviews stated a lot of misspelled words. Me, being the worst at spelling, didn't catch any, but I did notice a lot of missing words- the, of, etc. And that's why I took the other 1/2 star. But please, don't let that stop you from reading this wonderfully heartfelt story of lasting love that's simply...amazing.

This book was not what I thought it was when I got it. I had a hard time trying to figure out the story line. I kinda had an idea that Lizzie was not real and her imaginary friend but was not sure. The twist with Braden and her mom was unexpected. I couldn't figure out the anger her brother had towards his best friend until the end when all was revealed. Chase I felt like he stayed with her because of guilt of what happened. Then I realized it wasn't and he truly did and does love her. Virginia suffered a traumatic event and on top of it had other issues. So with everything dealt to her, her head did the only thing it could to protect her. Mental illness is a difficult thing for someone especially since Virginia was a young girl.
So with that said, I give this four stars.

Chasing Memories was 80% filled with pages of secret love and hate between Virginia and her brother’s best friend Chase. The last 20% was filled with what-the-hell-just-happened!! I am not sure if I loved or hated the turn of events which truly changed the entire dynamic of the book.
I do wish the story was longer. It was a rather quick read and I would have liked to hear more before and after the big Bang! I am really quite digging this author!

I thought it was a little short but still a good story. Showed real problems & illnesses. After reading Falling for a Bentley I had to give this book a try cause I LOVED Falling for a Bentley. All in all I think its a good story and Chase is such a gentleman he was too cute.

Enserio, este libro me encanto, jamas ni siquiera leyendo la sinopsis te imaginas el giro que da la historia, es tan inesperado lo juro, pero me encanta que apesar de todo Chase nunca la abandone.

Chasing Memories tiene a simple vista la trama mas comun del mundo y de la que todos estamos al tanto, una chica joven, linda se enamora del mejor amigo de su hermano mayor. Asi fue la idea que tenia al comenzar el libro, tambien antes de comenzar ya sabes que Chase tambien esta enamorado de Virginia, pero al parecer por alguna razon las cosas no funcionaron bien, Virginia ahora esta en la universidad y tiene que volver a casa por una emergencia, lo que significa volver a enfrentar a Chase.
Chase es el tipico chico lindo, copado, "roto" por dentro, que se enamora de la hermanita de su mejor amigo, y sabe que eso no esta bien porque es mas pequeña y bla bla bla. Pero hay muchisimo mas que eso en Chase, él tiene un pasado bastante delicado, la mayor parte de su adolescencia la vivio en la casa de Virginia. Literalmente porque los Bennett deciden dejar que Chase viva alli y lo tratan como a un hijo mas.
Cuando Virginia vuelve a su casa nota que las cosas entre su hermano y Chase estan bastante tensas, pero aquello no la detiene en el primer intento de Chase, para que ella caiga en sus brazos, cosa que la hace enfadar mucho al final.
Lo que tiene de diferente esta historia creo que yo, es que en cierto momento la vida de Virginia comienza a dar un giro, comienzan a sucederle cosas muy extrañas,recibir mensajes, etc. y su primer sospecho sera Chase.
Ahora que ella volvio a la casa ¿podra descubrir si Chase esta realmente enamorado de ella o si en realidad esta obsesionado con ella?
En mi opinion personal es un libro muy facil de leer, lo lei en una hora o dos como mucho, me encanto totalmente pese a su comun trama, tiene giros sorprendentes y que me dejaron con la boca abierta hasta el final. La autora tiene una manera de escribir muy simple, cosa que ayudo a la rapida lectura y simplemente me encanto como hace la diferencia con una simple trama.

Estuve dudando mucho, le puse dos estrellas, luego tres, luego dos de nuevo, pero la verdad es que no se merece más que eso. Digamos que quería que me gustara pero la verdad es que me decepcionó bastante, aunque la historia está normalita no me esperaba eso de este libro. Había leído hace unos días antes de comenzarlo una review sobre él, y coincido en algo: vas llegando casi al final del libro el cual no tiene casi emoción, los personajes muy poco caracterizados, ella en un papel de chica superada, pero que no es más que una indecisa, se la pasa todo el libro juzgando a los demás por cosas que en realidad no sabe y de las que no tiene pruebas y siete o cinco páginas antes de terminar te escriben toda la verdad sobre la historia y es algo muy fuerte, vamos, te pones a pensar que todo lo que leíste antes no fue real, por así decirlo. No tengo mucho más que contar acerca de este libro porque francamente no me quedó nada de su lectura, un lenguaje muy normal, un relato muy corto, no se, no te lleva más que unas horas, los invito a leerlo, tal vez lo estoy juzgando duramente, pero pueden hacer el intento y luego escribir su opinión acerca del texto. En conclusión: No me gustó, que quieren que les diga, no se hagan muchas expectativas con él.

Este es un magnífico ejemplo para la frase "No juzgues un libro por su portada" ya que a primera vistq te imaginas la típica historia de amor, yo creí que se trataba de algo similar a Rubinrot pero empiezas a leer y te das cuenta de que NO.
Realmente pienso que los autores deberian tener más conciencia del daño psicológico que me crean y simplemente me dejan sentada en la nada mirando la pared buscandole sentido a las cosa. Si, algo creepy.
Es un libro excepcional. Atrapante y por sobre todo con una trama y desenlace inesperados. ¿Crees que no hay historia que no conozcas? Te equivocas, esto es algo único.
Aunque el final me deja queriendo más, mucho más, porque realmente no sabes cómo seguiran las cosas.

Not your average new adult/YA book.
If you are looking for an easy read or a straightforward love story this is not the book you are looking for.
On the other hand, if you want to read a story about how complicated love, life, family... can be, then you will probably enjoy it.
It's not easy to write a review about this book, because the plot is one you need to unravel while reading it. Poignant at some points, if comes to show you that love is no fairytale. However, if you find the right person they won't give up on you, even when you are hurting them.

No entiendo la relación de la portada y la sinopsis con el contenido. Por supuesto, eso está en el libro. Pero creo que no van al verdadero punto.

No words can explain how amazing this book is....
Chasing Memories is a must read
It's not you normal teen romance book,its a whole different story.I never expected to feel so attached to this book and the characters was incredible.
