A brief history of Hellenic philosophy from Pre-Socratics to St. Augustine, the author doesn't only present the thoughts of those classic era philosophers clearly and intelligibly, but also makes frequent comment of his own opinion on a certain school. One can of course argue that this is drifting away from the neutrality which an author of history should abide to, his interpretations however, together with many examples given, made the somewhat "dull" subject more lucid and fun to read. Although he misrepresented some minor points regarding Christianity, it's overall a satisfactory introduction to the theories of some of the brightest thinkers in human history.
