January Valentine is the pen name of Victoria Valentine, New York writer and indie book publisher. See Victoria's Author page: amazon.com/author/victoriavalentine
I chose to use a pen name because some of my writing is steamy, and I wanted to separate Victoria, who writes contemporary fiction and children's storybooks. Since my birth month is January, January Valentine seemed an appropriate pseudonym.
I also host a blogtalkradio show: Away With Words, every Wednesday evening at 6 PM EST where I interview other writers and poets and discuss writing in general: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/aww1
In June, I released my first paranormal romance, Beautiful Experiment, book one of Island of Defiance Trilogy. Wheel Wolf was released on August 20th, and instantly became an Amazon bestseller in Horror/Suspense/Paranormal.
I've written three other novels: Love Dreams contemporary romance, Sweet Dreams in the Mind of a Serial Killer, and Head Over Wheels New Adult romance. All are available on Amazon and other booksellers, or will be shortly in ebook and paperback.
I publish books for other authors through Water Forest Press, which I founded some years ago. In the past I have written poetry and song lyrics, but now I focus on fiction. I've created multiple websites and blogs that I don't have time to manage very well. My desire to be in a rock band brought me into a recording studio ... where my lyrics sprang to life with the help of a local alternative rock band. Together, we produced a CD.
I enjoy designing book covers and youtube videos. I enjoy hiking and swimming. I love all kinds of music. Watching horror flicks and Tyler Perry movies are my escape from reality.
I have an addiction to engraved pens that I buy to accompany each of my books. My office is filled with paperbacks and swag.
New cover added on 2/28/13 which better depicts the entire story, especially the scene outside the club. Another aspect is the chipping away of the wall between Jewel and Indigo.
Q & A with January Valentine
You write adult contemporary romance, horror and thrillers. What made you decide to write about young love?
I'd first like to say, while the story is woven around a passionate young couple, the protagonists are both over 21. Head Over Wheels contains an intense level of heat which should be considered inappropriate for readers under the age of 17.
The lure of young romantic fiction appears to be ageless. As a romance writer, and reader, I also enjoy a certain level of physical contact between hero and heroine. I want to feel the power of that electricity. So, I've tried to bridge the sexual gap that lies between new adult and adult contemporary romance.
What is the storyline?
Head Over Wheels is a lighthearted romance (at times) dealing with heavy topics (always.)
Jewelia has recently turned 21, and is realizing that being of "legal age" doesn't necessarily mean she knows everything there is to know about life. Here is an abbreviated synopsis to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.
Turning 21 hasn't proven very fruitful for Jewelia Delarosa. Still, one lost boyfriend & two failed classes haven't gotten her down. She's got her sights set on a career with the NYPD, and is on course ... until she meets an irresistible and unpredictable medical student who contradicts everything she thought she knew about Life, Love, Commitment ... and Sex.
Tell us about Jewelia.
Jewelia is a bright and energetic young woman with a promising future. Since childhood, she's dreamed of being a Crime Scene Investigator. She feels more comfortable on a dance floor than anywhere else in the world. She has strong family ties, and during the course of the book, often "consults" with her grandmother, with whom she had a close relationship before her grandmother passed away. She lives in Manhattan with roommate, Emma Kim, and works part-time security for an upscale department store while completing college. Emma is the more studious of the two, offering advice, even her wardrobe, and is a central character.
Tell us about the Indigo (Jimmy.)
Even young adults have a past, sometimes baggage to lug around. Indigo is no exception. He's in his twenties, stunningly handsome, and disturbingly unpredictable. Just completing medical school, about to begin his residency in a NYC hospital, he's not looking for an attachment. However, there's something about Jewelia that catches his eye, makes his blood boil. She threatens his self control, among other things you'll have to read the book to find out about.
What other characters help highlight the book?
Pete Williams is an NYPD cop emerging from rookie status, hoping to work undercover. Of course he's hot and rides a Harley. From the moment they met, Pete and Jewelia formed an instant bond. Pete is a central character.
Every good romance needs a villain: enter Vanessa Whitehall, the girl who's part of Indigo's past. Vanessa goes above and beyond your average bitch-witch.
William Addison aka Billy Arkana finds something in Central Park he thought had been forever lost in high school.
I enjoy blending multiple genres in my stories. My romance contains humor. My thrillers contain romance. My horror contains all three elements. While Head Over Wheels has some potent moments, it also has a humorous side. Like life, it's a bit of this and that.
Yvonne and Derek add that bit of humor to the back story. Derek's ambition is essential to the plot.
The story focuses on building relationships, overcoming obstacles, attaining goals, and dealing with passion ... and pain, two of the most elemental emotions in life.
~~I received a free ARC in exchange for an honest review~~ Fighting for you starts off what seems to be in a dream. It hooks you right there. You have to know more of what is going on. The story is about Jewel, she is a young woman living in Manhattan, and she has just found the person that makes her heart skip a beat. She is mesmerized by his eyes alone. She doesn't actually mean Indigo until a bike race a few days later. They are both smitten with each other. There is a ton of sexual chemistry that neither of them can ignore. But Indigo has a secret that he can't tell her, not yet at least.
January made me cry, and not just a little bit, but ugly tears, that wouldn't stop flowing down my face. I was getting upset with her because of the amount of tears that were flowing. But she totally redeems herself. She write with beauty and grace. She lets you know the characters, and what they are feeling. You feel the emotional roller coaster that they both go on.
I will be reading more of January's books. She has made me a fan of her work! You will love her book!
January Valentine’s newest novel is something to be savored; however, doing so might be impossible, because the story picks the reader up and sweeps the reader along on a wave of non-stop action, passion, mystery and suspense. All you can do is hang on and enjoy the ride.
This novel, which contains graphic sexual language and scenes, is for mature readers only. January Valentine has indeed mastered the art of writing such passionate scenes erotically yet tastefully. The sexual scenes are wickedly hot, without being raunchy. She knows how to tease and titillate her reader, so that the reader is not simply reading about the characters’ passion, but experiencing it along with them.
The heroine, Jewelia, is a beautiful, spunky, determined and sensitive girl who is an aspiring NYPD officer and wise beyond her years. The man in her life, Jimmy (Indigo), is a handsome physician in training who harbors a deep family secret from his past, which, as Jewelia discovers, is the key to unlocking his heart. When Jewelia thinks she’s been betrayed, the author uses that as a tool to heighten the passion that is yet to come, and to bring her and Indigo even closer. And when Indigo is forced to choose between his desire for Jewelia and his family obligations, what threatens to tear them apart is the impetus for bringing them closer together. Every time something threatens their relationship, their bond becomes stronger, and we learn, as Jewelia does, what it truly means to be in love with someone and commit your life to him. And when Indigo allows himself to unburden his secret to Jewelia, he understands the meaning of trust and how it can become an unbreakable bond. This is an incredibly romantic love story and a coming-of-age story all rolled into one.
January Valentine is an exceptionally talented writer who has a superb ear for phrases and vivid descriptions. Her characters are well-developed and tangible, allowing the reader to invest in and form immediate connections with them. This is a page-turner which will not disappoint you, and only make you hungry for more.
This book had me on the edge of the couch, literally. It was a beautiful story with some hot sex scenes. Between those steamy scenes and the character's roller coaster relationship your senses are on overdrive.
Jewelia is a beautiful young woman with a hint of spice. While working her way to being a police officer she meets Indigo. He's a gorgeous man working on his residency. They first caught each other's eye at a coffee shop. These characters were well thought out. You connect with them and are invested in the outcome of their relationship right from the beginning. You wrap yourself around them and experience it all right along with them. I even found myself wanting to kick Indigo in the rear a few times throughout the book for using his "on/off" mood switch too much with Jewelia. Without spoiling I will let you know that he did, however, redeem himself and finished smoothly in the end.
I love the way January Valentine used the different backgrounds, career paths, and family woes to weave this romantic story together. She knows how to grab a readers attention and hold it until the very end. If you are looking for a romantic read that has humor, emotion, and just the right amount of hotness look no further.
I find that I am probably not an audio-ear. Mainly while i'm working myself! But that has no reflection on 'Fighting for you' AKA: Head Over Wheels.
Narrator - Melissa Barr was fun, vibrant and upbeat to listen too. I loved her enthusiastic delivery. Fighting For You - is a refreshing read second time round - it was defiantly fascinating to hear Jewlia's story through someone elses voice other than my own! Not only because it was a whole new invigorating kick , but in audio too!!
January Valentine has done it again! That goes without saying that I read this book in February 2013, and still now today I remember it like it were yesterday, and now I hear the changes as it's been read to me.
Did I love the first version better from the second? - Normally I am the type that love the original more; and in this case that is still true. But I must say that I love the revamp too! It's a brutal authenticity. The only thing I am left to say is; 'January Valentine is boundless!' & an adept new revamp of 'Head Over Wheels' is a grEAT! Refresh! :P
Wow! Someone get me a doctor! Classic love story between two people from different worlds. I enjoyed reading their story, although it did take me longer to read than most books. And now a bit about the story...
After a few chance meetings at Kelly's Coffee Shop, Indigo and Jewel officially meet and the sparks fly even faster. She is almost ready to start the police academy and he is getting ready to start his residency. When they are together, they are hot. Unless they are getting interrupted by Indigo's family or past. They seem to be off again on again as Indigo's mother makes her feel too out of place. Will they survive and make it? Can this cop and doctor overcome his family and past?
This was a thoroughly enjoying read. Just enough action, adventure, romance, and spice. Another book from January Valentine that I can highly recommend!
Head over Wheels was perfect, and I absolutely loved it. There is nothing better than starting a book, where right from the first page you know you want to read more. It doesn't always mean that a story has to start off with a bang, it can simply be due to what's written on that first page or the way it's written. I hoped that it would continue in this light, and it did.
Jewelia or Jewel, as her friends call her, works part-time in a department store as security. The kind of security where a girl can dress up fancy as all get out, have hair and make-up done and whatever else the store provides... for free. But then, the whole point is to look like a regular customer. She's also studying Forensic and Political Science, loves to watch CSI (me, too) and well, aspires to be just like them. Who better than to clean up the streets of Manhattan? Jewel, like most young women, has experienced the 'break-up'. It's been six months and the gorgeous guy, Nikos, she'd been dating is no more. Life must go on. Jewel locks eyes one morning at Kelley's, where she buys her daily dose of coffee, with a guy even more gorgeous than her ex. A curious game of checking each other out ensues. Jewel is quick to message her best friend, Emma, with a pic nonetheless of the hotness she's come across. The things girls do! I loved Emma, she's a true best friend and one who comes up with lines like this one: "He's hotter than my Honda before the engine blew." They met before Jewel started college, at a time when she was apartment hunting. She saw the ad, they met and the rest as they say is history. Emma is kind of her psychologist, but then she's in the right profession - mental health.
Jewel can't get this guy out of her mind, and is back for her ritualistic coffee posthaste the next day, without being too darn obvious that is. He eventually shows up, but after her most embarrassing and hilarious entry, nothing comes of it.
Both Jewel and Emma take part in a bike-a-thon (with loads of grumbling from Jewel), where they come across none other than this gorgeous guy with a friend who have stopped to fix one of the bikes. Nothing like the present to make the most of what's in front of her, and up to them she goes. 'Cause you know, she's completely qualified where bike fixing is concerned. Not! By the end of this meeting, not only have Jewel and Indigo (James Ballou - pronounced blue, hence the Indigo) met without any concrete future confirmed plans, Emma and Arkana, Indigo's friend apparently went to the same school years ago. A spark between these two is also ignited.
Short of telling you where this is all going, I can only but reiterate that it was wonderful and I loved it. It's not a simple love story, but then how many really are? There's the inevitable baggage carried around, more so where Indigo is concerned. He has trust issues, which when you read 'Head Over Wheels', you'll know why. It's sad and heart wrenching, but then he is the way he is due to his loss including his parents' marriage and the not so pleasant environment he grew up in. Tragedy has a way of either pulling people together, but at times completely rips them apart. Here you will also see the difference between Indigo's parents and Jewel's family.
Added to this mix is Vanessa - a 'good' friend of not only Indigo's, but his family. She's the uber viper bitch we all hope we never come across in our lives, or relationships. She made me want to get downright and dirty with her, bringing out a really nasty side we are all capable of when faced with someone as horrible as she is. But, let me tell you, although at times Jewel becomes fed up with the whole Indigo-feeling-sorry-for-Vanessa-moments because of her circumstances, Jewel is not one to take crap. In fact, she's quite capable of looking after herself, is strong in more ways than most of us are, and she has the quickest tongue and comebacks I've come across. Loved her to bits.
There are a number of other characters in this story that make it even greater. I loved Pete and Casey (a gay couple), but more so Pete as he always has Jewel's best interests at heart. He's a real mother hen. A bit of everything has been added to this story making it more than just a romance or love story, as it's riddled with obstacles that need to be overcome, frustrations that will drive you crazy and it's also full of humour - something I always love. There's even some suspense! But, make no mistake that this is primarily, a love story. A hot and spicy love story.
If you've read 'The Edge of Never' or 'Hearts in Darkness', any romance really - you will love this one, too. And, can I say that Ms. Valentine has a way of writing that is just fabulous. Everything flows, the right amount of snarkiness is peppered here and there throughout the story, when it's supposed to be funny it is, but when those hurtful, sad and tender moments are needed? they have been placed in exactly the right place.
I'd love to read (if there will ever be one), an installment about Emma and Arkana (Billy) born from their school days up to this point. I did mention this in an e-mail to the author, but (lol) this sentence was quietly side-stepped. Guess I'll have to wait and see. I can beg if the need be, Ms. Valentine. Just say the word.
Fabulous! Read it. I recommend it. I love romance.
I have to add this. A note from Indigo to Jewel at a time when things had gone haywire. Isn't it lovely? She kept it under her pillow. Brought tears to my eyes. I'm soppy that way. Sigh.
"To the part of my world that shines brightest; Jewelia, my joy.
Love is a gentle song which leads a heart to a meadow. The fragrance of paradise, a thoughtful hand on a shoulder Love is every perfect note in the sound of your voice The lifetime I've spent in search of you Each breath I take missing you Your sigh when you're fast asleep Memories I'll forever keep Love is your eyes when they gaze into mine A traveler of sorrow, a soul lost in time. I love you, Jewelia. Always, Jimmy"
This is a story that has one person unable to move on from the past while the other is fighting for her future. Jewelia and Indigo are good together, but when things get too intense, Indigo backs off because of his past. I liked Jewelia's determination to have the future she wants, but she waffled a little too much. The journey to the end was very bumpy but worth the time.
This audiobook was a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.
Head over Wheels, by January Valentine, is the right title for this delightfully spicy romance novel. It is scrumptious from page one to the end. It opens with a breathtaking poem and awesome artwork. It steams ahead into the sensual dream of the main character, Jewelia Delarosa. She meets a delightful treat of a sexy man in the cafe, and the fantasies to reality start to spin out of control.
Set in Manhattan, the story centers around two ambitious college women studying to be professionals. Their bond is like a younger version of Sex in the City characters, deep and committed. Set in a modern style of Manhattan's fast-paced life and infused with delicious romance, it is an enthralling read for mature audiences.
When Jewelia tells her roommate, Emma, about the gorgeous hunk who catches her eye, the two girls cook up a plan on how to attract his attention the next time she runs into him. Ah, the intrigue and the scheming kept this reader entertained.
Then the fateful meeting was not to be, for intervention and competition faulted Jewel, but she was not one to give up. In the midst of scheming, Jewelia, Emma and police detective buddy are chummy and life rolls on. Jewel is volunteering for a bike-a-thon, and living the city's life with all it thrills and surprises.
The author has a unique style of writing that compels the reader to want to see what will happen next. There are little insights which warm the reader's heart, then again the spicy romance that makes it steamy hot. This story is definitely a roller coaster of emotions, which is one of the threads that kept the story flowing and interesting. Ah, the situation is set, and the bait is ready, and the two will meet, either by destiny or coincidence.
Jewelia and Indigo continue to dance around each other, learning, exploring and discovering each other. Roommate Emma is also surprised by a flash of the past and the saucy romance ignites as secrets unfold between the four college professionals.
The suspense, conflicts, and events are exciting and hints of desire titillating. The conclusion is powerful. This reader recommends this book for those who seek steamy romance. You may want to research this author and preview all her other books and if they are like this one, they too are definitely a reader's paradise.
I highly recommend Head Over Wheels spicy romance, written with a poetic and modern creativity of future promises and dreams coming true through a revenge plot and personal life storms. The author takes the reader on an exciting experience, following the characters as they struggle to discover what fate has in store for them.
Head Over Wheels is my first experience with the New Adult genre and it was definitely a pleasant one.
Told in first person, Head Over Wheels is the story of Jewel who has just turned 21, and has found out that life doesn't immediately become clear just because you come of "legal" age. She's a smart and funny (even if she doesn't know it) young woman with a bright future. A little man crazy at times, she seems to have that same bad luck that I did at 21. Tripping over something while trying to appear, um, sexy to the attractive man in the cafe, being tongue tied... Oh and having that dream where she's almost naked in a public place and making a fool out of herself in the process!
Enter James Ballou (aka "Jimmy" and "Indigo"). He's hot, he's intelligent, he's a doctor and he's got problems. He's a product of the hostile and heartbreaking environment he grew up in and he carries around the scars even as an adult. As attracted as he is to Jewel, he just can't quite take that final step with her into a fully committed and healthy relationship. I was surprised at how steamy this book was! Jewel and Jimmy have amazing chemistry with each other, it's just that they're their own worst enemies. Both of them have baggage and at times it seems like Jimmy's is just too much for Jewel to handle. She has moments where she questions the wisdom of waiting for Jimmy to come to his senses and fight for her and for their relationship. All things that we struggle with at any age. When it's good it's great and when it's bad it's almost the end of them.
Not to be overlook is Jewel's merry band of friends. Each of them serves a purpose in Jewel's life, she has a mother figure in Pete and a therapist in Emma. They provide the laughs when things get too serious and give readers something else to focus on other than the on again, off again relationship between Jewel and Jimmy.
Author January Valentine's writing style is grown up, but not too grown up. She's found a perfect blend of youth and adulthood that bridges the gap between YA novels and Adult Romance. She doesn't dismiss the challenges people in their 20s face but she doesn't over dramatize them the way that teenagers have the tendency to. Head Over Wheels is great for readers who may have outgrown YA novels but are still not ready for full blown adult romance.
Fans of both YA and adult romance should give Head Over Wheels a try, there's more to it than meets the eye.
This one took me a little bit longer to read and get into, and I was honestly thinking it was probably around a 3 star rating but around 30 - 40 % it really started picking up and took a turn for the better. I found myself more engrossed in the story. I actually loved the heroine Jewel, which is rare for me because I'm usually more invested in the male characters. Head Over Wheels gets 4 stars.
Head Over Wheels is the story of Jewel and James Ballou (aka "Jimmy" and "Indigo" too many names, just call him Jimmy LOL). Jewel is a bright young woman, studying to be a police officer. She meets Jimmy one day at a Cafe and it's instant attraction. They don't actually get to talk until they run into each other again at a bike-a-thon that Jewel's roommate Emma drags her on. Jimmy is smoking hot, sexy and in medical school....Dr. McDreamy anyone? Even though the chemistry is there and they start seeing each other, Jimmy is hot one minute and cold the next and with all these mixed signals Jewel just can't figure out exactly what he wants. So we get loads of sexual tension! Oh, and I have to mention his mother and his crazy friend Vanessa, who obviously want to put a stop to Jewel's and Jimmy's relationship before it can even really get started....it's obvious there's some baggage there.
"Jewel, I have extensive knowledge of the human anatomy. I know the physiology of an orgasm, and the effects on a body when it's denied release. I know what to do to a woman...how to bring her to a screaming climax."
I can't leave out mention of Jewel's friends Emma and Pete, and even Jewel's family who help make this story and provide us with laughs while Jewel struggles with her and Jimmy's relationship status.
Head Over Wheels was funny, full of steamy sexual tension, romance and even had a little mystery to the plot. I was actually shocked as some of the story was revealed, I did not see some of it coming.....so if your looking for a light fun read this one is for you!
INDIGO:"Jewel, I have extensive knowledge of the human anatomy. I know the physiology of an orgasm, and the effects on a body when it's denied release. I know what to do to a woman...how to bring her to a screaming climax."
OMG INDIGO - HOT HOT HOT
This is one of the most romantic books I've ever read. Troubled Indigo is so damn sexy and strong, but he has a sensitive side that makes him vulnerable, which is what makes Jewel hang in there while he finds his way. The way she describes his doctor hands touching her body is such a turn on. The author really nailed it by creating flawed characters who are realistic and emotion provoking. I love Jewelia's strong personality. I got right into her mind and experienced everything with her. I felt her confidence as well as her frustration. At times I was close to tears. The main characters are a perfect match and produce a lot of heat. The passion between them blew me away. On top of everything, the story line was very involving. The author made me feel for every character, even the supporting ones. This book is filled with love, desire, uncertainty and so many emotions that kept me turning the pages. The sexual encounters are well written and descriptive, yet not vulgar. Every woman deserves a real life Indigo. This is a book I'd read again and recommend to anyone who wants a strong plot that they can dive into and become lost in.
This book is told from Jewelia's point of view and at first my brain was spinning with the way her mind works! You quickly realize that this is just Jewelia....she's crazy and erratic and so REAL! You can't help but fall face first into this story as you get into her mind.
Jewelia and Indigo's relationship is powerful and turbulent from the moment they first lock eyes in the coffee shop. Jewelia is so out there for you to see (granted it is told from her POV), and Indigo is locked down so tight.
Throughout the story Indigo flashes hot and cold and we can't begin to decipher what is going on in his big brain. We want so badly for him to open up and show us his pain, but he feels he has to keep that part of himself separate from Jewelia. It is such a struggle to the very end.....
I absolutely loved this book and I am quite sure I will be reading it again, just before the next one comes out! The next book will be told from Indigo's POV and normally I wouldn't care to read the same story again......but Indigo is so very damaged and I am dying to see his side of this story. I'm so happy that I will essentially get twice the book as there were many scenes I would have loved to get more of!
I feel a little stingy giving this book only 2 stars but 2 stars is "it was okay" which is how I felt about this book. There are some aspects of this book that certainly earn more than 2 stars but for me I just felt like the entire book was very up and down. As I am well and truly in the minority with most reviews maybe I'm just not the right age demographic this book is aimed at.
For me, I just didn't really feel the connection between the main characters, and to be honest did not really feel much, except maybe some annoyance, toward our main character Jewel. Jewel's relationship with Indigo was too on and off for me and her expectations in the beginning and the drama for such a new relationship left me wondering why they would bother. I felt like maybe the author was just trying to fit too much drama into the story.
The author definitely has something going on though because some of the writing was just lovely...the characters just weren't my cup of tea.
I enjoyed reading this book so much, my emotions were everywhere for Pete's sake I almost freakin' cried over Indigo's stupidness! But he made up for it in his sexiness, "Jewel..." My name was an airy rush. "I doubt we'd be able to hang together out there," he motioned to the wheels spinning pas us "but Bill and I usually stop at Kelly's after riding." He doesn't like to make mistakes so he's cautious that he doesn't, "he brought my chin up with his index finger. "If it's something I've done, tell me what it is, so it doesn't happen again. I don't like making mistakes...not even once...no less twice." Jewel the girl has some lady balls and I loved it when she put her man in place, "I couldn't help but shoot him an are-you-serious look that even sent me reeling. "You hardly ever text me, Indigo. Why would I turn to you? You're so elusive I..." This book was just a rush of emotions and that Vanessa biatch I didn't like at all.
This book was a little slow going initially for me. It was around 40% that it picked up and got interested for me.
I liked Jewel, she had a way about her that I found inspiring and admirable. She wants to be a police officer and meets Jimmy at the very beginning of the story, this part I found dull. It didn't intrigue me and I almost put the book down but I am glad that I gave it another go and kept reading as it got WAY better after that.
Jimmy was HOT! To say the least, he was her 'training' officer, the sexual tension between these two was enough to thaw out a zero temperature room. I loved that part of it best.
The struggles they went through proved to be entertaining and the supporting characters in this book really helped add a 'wow' factor.
Being a doctor, he'd spot a panic attack in a second.
OMG I really love this book!!!
This is a great read. I recommend it to anyone who loves romance, a great plot, strong heroine and hot hero. There are so many good scenes in this book. I loved the tension between Jewel and Vanessa, and Jewel and Indigo. There is a lot of conflict, love and hate, which keeps the story interesting. It was well written with such good description and dialogue, I felt like I was part of the book. I will look for more from this author.
I loved it. From start to finish I was drawn into the world that is Jewelia. In so many ways I believe her character will relate to every woman because we've all been this vulnerable at one stage of our lives and the passion this girl has is every bit a reality. I was right there with her tears, her joys, her systumatic convoltions of Indigo (AKA:Jimmy), her struggles, the emotions I swear I'm exhausted!!! It is an unforgettable read and one I will carry with me in my heart and love for goodreads. Excellent!
This book was enjoyable. The beginning of the book is a bit slow but once you get to Indigo's confession to Jewl about his past demons the story becomes more interesting. I'll be honest the supporting characters held my interest better. The sexual tension between Indigo and Jewl became a bit frustrating. All in all I did enjoy reading "Head Over Wheels".
This is January Valentine at her best! The characters, the plot, the sex. It's smart and steamy. The story is told from the main character's point of view and you are in the head of an unsure, complex young woman. She falls for a hunk of a young med student, who has his own problems and secrets. The plot keeps you reading long past bedtime!
Ok I Loved it! You can't put it down! Its non- stop passion, suspense, romance....at its best! Please buy and read this book! You won't be disappointed....it was Awesome! January Valentines books get better and better....with everyone she writes! She ...in my opinion is a big up and coming Author! I look forward to reading her next Book!
As much as I liked the supporting characters, I just couldn't enjoy this book. The main characters were very frustrating and sometimes annoying. They had some positive traits, but overall I just couldn't wait for this one to be over.
What a great read... Loved Jewelia.. and her tenacious attitude and gusto for her romance and career.. Great read on Jimmy her other half who has such secrets and turmoil with decisions and family issues. Really well written.. and easily followed.
