Celeste Anwar AKA Julia Keaton AKA Jaide Fox

A love of the dark and mysterious spurred Celeste's imagination through her teens and into adulthood. She was always reading a horror book well into the night. It was only natural that she captured those stories swirling in her head down on "paper." And she's been loving every minute of her new writing career.

Born and bred in Louisiana, she loves setting books on her native soil and most especially loves writing about those sexy Cajun men.

I Love Hot Cajun Werewolves!!!

Gabriel
description
Gabriel sighed. He just wanted a simple life, with a woman ready, willing, and waiting in his bed ... and a car that stayed running more often than not. He didn’t think that was too much to ask.

Gabriel is a lonely werewolf that longs for a woman of his own. When he finds Jessica, he is captivated by her scent. But Pack Law prevents him from claiming her as his own.
She was in heat. Never had he smelled a woman so ripe for fucking. The scent and knowledge threatened to burn away all rational thought. His hands clenched into tight fists, his fingers digging into his palms. His arms bulged with the effort to restrain himself. For a few minutes, he could think of nothing but taking her and laying her on the street, pushing her legs apart and burying his cock deep inside her.

Jessica puts herself in harms way by not the brightest female. I mean any woman that would visit a graveyard, alone, in the middle of the night after being warned of Vampires and Werewolves, is just asking for trouble right?
description

Gabriel and Jessica have wonderful chemistry. This is one action packed novella as the turf war between the local weres and vamps threatens to ruin Gabriel's attempt to claim his mate.

I was throughly entertained by this book, and completely captivated by the werewolf hero/love interest- Gabriel Benoit. Funny, hot, seductive, persuasive and dangerous, Gabriel made the book for me. The author got that irresistible Louisiana charm spot-on in Gabriel's character. If you read this book for no other reason, read it to experience Gabriel.

Jessica Talvert is visiting New Orleans after discovering she is adopted, where she meets Gabriel, who spends most of his time trying to charm his way into Jessica's bed. Jessica is torn between common sense and Gabriel's devastating sexuality and sweet charm. She struggles to resist his hot kisses and smooth words. She is unfamiliar with the long standing Lycan and Vamp war, but is about to find out waay more than she ever expected, about them, and about herself.

Gabriel trails Jessica, both tempting her and aggravating her. He does save her from some attackers at the cemetery (doesn't that girl know better than to go to a New Orleans cemetery at dusk, by herself??).

There's a variety of action, scene changes, jumping around, etc. The story is longer than a novella, shorter than a novel. You get one red-hot Cajun werewolf, some smokin' hot seduction and yes, sex, werewolf and vampire action, and more.

Don't expect a lot of depth and you'll be OK. Think of it as a sexy action/adventure with some paranormal elements and you should enjoy. I'm partial to a good 'Nawlins story, and because Gabriel is so freakin' sexy, I say this one is good.

Ok, this book had serious potential. I loved the heat and the passion.I just could not get past is accent. I know some people loved it, but to me it just made him sound silly. I love the shifters in heat concept and the need to mate...HOT.

This was a quick little read if you are looking for a hot shifter book. If you like the whole Cajun accent, you'll probably love it. 3 stars.

Stolen moments

With the very first page the author immerses us in sultry steamy nights that continue to heat up throughout the book. This one is a short, fast paced read that was my first experience with the author. The characters were intriguing and detailed making me expect to see them just around the next corner. And the story was a brand new take on werewolves and vampires leaving me thirsty for more. This is a fantastic story if you are looking for a quick hit of romance. I hope the author continues to add more stories like this to her library.

This was a weird one. I kind of get why it's gotten such mixed reviews. It's one of the books you'll either love or hate. Sadly, this one's not to my taste. Bloody beatings, almost rape, pace so high there's no substance to the characters makes for an annoying read.

There really wasn't much substance to the characters, they had the potential. But sadly the pace of the book was so high, substance got sacrificed for plot-twists. The pace was crazy, too much happened in too short a time. There was no time to pause and dwell on what was happening, it was on and on to the next thing all the time. I believe this book would benefit hugely from an expansion; both with the characters and the plot. Sometimes giving the reader time to think and digest is a very good thing.

As it was, I ended up skimming a lot of the book. Something that bummed me out as I loved the cover and was beyond intrigued by the blurb. With the crazy pace and no time to connect with the characters, there was a surprisingly huge amount of smut here. The UST wasn't all that tense, and the Hero only wearing old, ripped jeans and nothing else wasn't sexy. It might have been had the author had the time to explain why.

A lot of potential here, but as everything felt rushed, it kinda fell through...

Interesting read about Jessica and Gabriel meeting in NO, her chain was snatched and he was the one to get it back. After all the warnings given she ignored them all and found herself putting him in danger trying to protect her. Then his pack, which seemed out of control and desperate, finds them and more drama follows. I thought they’d be more civilized but it seemed it was a free for all with them, more like a book I read about panthers. Like they’d go to rape just to mate but even then they wouldn’t touch someone already claimed which it seemed Gabriel’s pack didn’t care. The vamps in this seemed just as bad but their appearance was so short that you don’t get a feel for what they were up to besides food. Didn’t like the ending but maybe there will be additional books. Not a bad read but not even close to some of the other really good wolf and vamp books out there.

I really enjoyed " Utter Domination" another Celeste Anwar book about werewolves, so when this book came out I decided to buy it. I so wish I had read the reviews before...

Halfway through the book I still didn't feel any connection to the main characters, which is rather odd because to that point 99% of the pages were about them and their feelings, with just a brief interaction with another character.

The erotic scenes were hot, but there was not a story interesting enough to keep my attention. After this one I would have to read glowing reviews about her next book before buying another book from this author.

This book was confusing. It was hard to follow along with the story and the story itself was not that interesting. There were many times I was like "this is supposed to be a romance" because it all felt forced OR the author didnt explain the situations/feelings well enough for me to connect. I dont ever write reviews, but this book didnt have any and I thought it really needed the warning. I would NOT waste your money.

Now, I understand why there are so many mixed reviews for this book. The book is a love-it or leave-it type of book; there is no in-between. I, personally, didn't like this book. The way the writer wrote Gabriel's voice annoyed me, but I understand they were in New Orleans. The book is super short. Also, it took the plot to pick up until the very end of the book.
