About the author

The combination of years spent working with words in the secretarial field and a love of reading romances sparked Layla’s initial urge to write. Add to that the experience of reaching a landmark birthday, and you might say a mid-life crisis was born. Relocating from her native California to Texas in 2000 provided more time to focus on the craft. A direct challenge form a critique partner turned Layla’s writing toward the sensual side and she hasn’t looked back since. Writing erotic romance allows her to spread her creative wings and let her imagination take off.

Multi-published in historical, paranormal and contemporary, Layla’s sexy stories are mixed with a bit of humor or a tug of emotion, but always have a happy ending.

Layla lives in south Texas with her engineer husband and teenage daughter. Her other three children are scattered up and down California and having adventures of their own. When not writing or plotting her next story, she spends time reading, watching movies and traveling (so many possible locales for the next adventure).

Review: The Trixy and Garth relationship

is full of emotions from their past. They both

have regrets and hurt from that past. But they

both seem to have strong enough feelings towards

each other that this deal that they are making,

has positive feelings for both of them. The

only thing about this book that is remotely

negative is that I wanted more. More of a wrap

up of their relationship. This was a quick and

easy, sexy read.

This little story jumps right into the action. Setting Boundaries is an erotic menage about a fight for water rights and most of the story's twenty-seven pages is about Widow Trixy Manville fulfilling an agreement with her neighbor... and his brother. Now this isn't something you're going to pick-up for the intricate plot (even though Ms. Chase did a good job setting things up and making you care about Trixy's situation), it's something you're going to get for a quick, erotic read... and Ms. Chase doesn't disappoint! If you're ready for something short and super-steamy, Setting Boundaries is for you! We give it 4 Midnight Magic Girls!!

Great concept but it read like a scene written for a full length novel. I’ve been spoiled lately with fully developed stories condensed without having to sacrifice any of the fundamental essentials. I felt like an intruder, watching strangers having unemotional sex. The author produced a well written tale but, without more character and emotional development it felt unfinished – I felt unsatisfied.
