Things changed for 17 year old Mack today.

This is an unputdownable book that is unique, addictive, romantic, and epic all rolled up into one package. I doubt that you will be able to read this book and not have a big impression. You will crave more information and will find yourself staying up much past your bed time to find out what happens next.
It is told through the male protagonist, Mack, who thinks that he is just your average high school boy… until the dreams. His story will take you to a whole new world that is being ravaged by an evil Dark Queen who must be defeated to restore peace (and the rightful King).
The Winds of Darkness is absolutely fantastic. The combination of tension, mystery, and love make this novel a real page-turner. Author, Micki Fredricks, creates characters that are so real; you can’t help but relate to them and care about what happens to them. Her unique style of writing will leave you wanting more. A MUST READ!!!!

Finding out that the author, Micki Fredricks, lives in my town made me want to read this book. Meeting her in person made me REALLY want to read this book! Winds of Darkness has a little bit of everything --mystery, suspense, science fiction, romance, action---it's all woven into the story skillfully. I am not a huge science fiction reader so when I realized the direction this book was going to take after starting in on the first few chapters I was unsure if I would be able to stick with it. But I did and I am very glad that I did.
The descriptions and details that shape the story give such a depth and feeling of actually being "in" the story. As the story unfolds the reader finds him or herself wondering just what is going to happen in the next chapter and that is what keeps the momentum going and the pages turning.
I am really looking forward to seeing what Micki Fredricks has to offer in the future with her upcoming books because she is a skilled writer and her expertise in writing a book that will get a lot of attention by readers and critics alike is quite evident. Job well done! Can't wait for the next one!

Her characters were wonderful and I wanted them to win. I can't wait to read the rest of her series. For the hardcore reader there are a few errors, but they don't interfere with the story. You will enjoy Inzio and all the twist and turns Mack must take to survive.

Awesome, awesome, awesome!! Read this book if you want to escape into a world of action, suspense, mystery, adventure, and love. Travel with Mack to the Lands of Inzio, as he fights for freedom, fights for his people, fights for his life, fights for love.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The writing style of the author is exactly the kind I enjoy reading. It’s easy to follow and moves along at a nice pace. It’s so descriptive; you can easily imagine every scene, every detail and makes you feel like you are standing in the middle of the story. You are immediately sucked in and always wondering what will happen next…NEEDING to know what happens next. I often found myself saying, I’ll just read ‘one more chapter’, but always reading way more than that. Definitely a page-turner! Micki introduces you to the characters, immediately making you feel a connection as if you've known them for years. This book brought out many emotions all the way through, making me smile, giggle, talk out loud, yell at the book, grip the book a little tighter, and even reach for a tissue. If a book can make a person do these things, that’s a great book!
If you are looking for your next book to enjoy and get lost in, read Winds of Darkness!! I highly recommend it to everyone – you will not be disappointed! I anxiously await another book from this author!!

Winds of darkness will have you cherishing each word and racing to the conclusion- all at the same time. Wonderfully and beautifully written, the characters come alive, their pain becomes your pain, their love, yours. Don't start this book unless you have time to lose yourself in the lives of Mack and Noah, and their quest to save Inzio. Only one question remains... When is book 2 coming out??

03/01 100.0% "This was the most riveting book I've read by far. Micki captured the essence of fantasy and created the world of Inzio, I could not put this book down and was disappointed when it ended, since I wanted to read more!!! I am looking forward to more of this up and coming author. I'm praying there is a sequel or sequels in the horizon!! Loved it and recommend it!!"

Winds of Darkness is an amazing story of courage and self-discovery. Mack finds himself on a unique and incredibly challenging journey. It is a complex plot that unfolds nicely and keeps you on your toes.
