In the aftermath of a battle that forced Ruby to flee the safety of the guardian angels, she settles into a small town, hoping to blend in and forget about the ones she loved. It isn’t until Hunter stumbles across her working in a bar and a well-timed email from Ivan Aleksandrov that she realised she could go back to Sage Sanctum—for a few days, at least.

Out for revenge, Lucian will stop at nothing until he has Ruby for himself, but he isn’t the only one that needs her. The council, a group of gods/goddesses have a mysterious hand in Ruby’s return to Sage Sanctum and Mr Aleksandrov is eager to find out what it is.

Destroying Lucian is the least of her worries when Ruby comes face to face with Eli De Luca, the love of her life. It seems her departure has affected him more than she thought it would, but his frustration with her isn’t strong enough to hide the electricity that crackles relentlessly between them.

Determined to end her very real nightmare once and for all, Ruby fights the biggest battle of her life, one that affects not only her, but everyone involved.

"I'm not going to risk it."

His statement saddened me - if not for love, then what else? I was willing to risk everything for Eli except for one thing, and that was his life. Leaving him was the most selfless and selfish thing I'd ever done, but I didn't regret it.

Love is a safehaven.

But when your very presence can put the ones you love in danger, sometimes you have to sever ties. Sometimes you have to pretend you're heartless - that your heart doesn't bleed, doesn't cry out with every step you take away from them.

Sometimes you have to run and just keep running, doing anything; anything if it will save the lives of those you love.

Ruby has never blended in.

And now is no different. She may have her magicked charm, that changes her appearance, but it can't hide the scent, the life, that clings to her. Nothing will undo what she is - a goddess. And it because of what she is, and the danger she faces from the blood-thirsty vampire Lucian, that she has to hide in the first place.

But Hide and Seek can't be played alone.

Ruby may be doing her best to hide, but too many people are searching for her, wanting her to be found. Hunter is on her heels; his feelings for her and his new demeanour - the latter one of the many downsides of his being a vampire - too intense for her to handle. But Ruby can't bring herself to end the life of a former friend...a friend who saved the life of the guardian angel she loves with all her heart.

Eli.

Ruby may be severing ties - but some ties just can't be severed.

Sanctums are normally 'private places from which most people are excluded' (or so the definition goes...) but Sage Sanctum isn't excluding Ruby. Far from it. Ruby receives an invitation from Ivan Aleksandrov - requesting her presence back at Sage Sanctum.

Torn, Ruby longs to return but is painfully aware of what her presence there could mean. She'd be killing the last sliver of safety those she cares about have. Reminding herself that is only for a few days, she accepts the invitation...and is soon on her way back to where it all began.

But Mr Aleksandrov is not the only one that wants Ruby back. The council are more than eager to have Ruby return; her return suiting a mysterious purpose of theres that, when it comes to light, may change everything Ruby has ever known or guessed about what she is - and what she is capable of doing.

True love never dies.

As hard as Ruby tries to ignore the bond and the emotions that lie between them, she can't deny how her heart - her whole being - reacts to seeing Eli De Luca. The love of her life. The one thing she wants more than anything else. The one thing she can't have.

Eli treats Ruby with a casual politeness - but his polite words and lack of proximity can't quite disguise the hurt he harbours over her actions...actions done to save him. But just as frustration, guilt and hot tempers lie beneath this pair's facades of indifference, so does a burning attraction and love that has yet to be extinguished.

The battle is far from over. Salvation is just out of reach.

But Ruby will fight with everything she has to achieve it. To end Lucian and his malevolent plans. To protect Sage Sanctum and the gods and goddesses that pace within its walls. To see a world where angels and goddesses can find love without persecution.

To find that happy ending and make it hers.

Filled with adventure, Salvation is the next gripping instalment in the Guardian Angel series by Skyla Madi. Open the book and let yourself be pulled between the pages into a world unlike any other!

So... I was going to comment the day I finished reading this AMAZING!!!!! book , but work and real life got in the way so....here goes - I ordered Salvation the minute it was available - I thought I'd try to read it over the week and finish it this weekend - needless to say I read it within two days! It really is that good. I love how Skyla brought the characters together. I love the 'surprise' about Ruby and Hunter and I love the way Eli and Ruby are together. This is a must read series! One of my favourite - :)

Best book so far. Everybody say bye, bye bye to the big baddie. Still, there's something shady going on with Ivan and even more shady with this new council. I hope the final book doesn't disappoint. If Eli and Ruby don't end up with their happily ever after, I will scream. You have been warned. I'm watching you council and guardians.

At A Glance
I was super excited for Salvation with how Sun Kissed ended. And I was not disappointed.

The Good
More Hunter!!! Yay. Even him as a semi-evil vampire, I still like him better than Eli. I know, that's bad. But Hunter just has something about him.

We get to go back to Sage Sanctum, the paranormal school, in this book. Ruby has been gone a whole year, trying to keep the people she loves safe by staying away from them. With Lucian and Hunter hot on her tail, threatening to kill the people around her, Ruby really has no choice. But things have changed at the school with the new security measures and new management. It's obvious not all is perfect at the school but change is one the horizon. But is the change for the better?

I actually liked Ruby more this time around. She's grown up. So has Eli. They both have gotten wiser. They are learning to make their own decisions and live their own lives. I am very excited for their future, even if Hunter is still my #1.

The action was good like it always is. I still love the direction of the series overall. And it was nice to have a mostly happy ending this time around.

The Bad
I felt like there was too much waiting around in Salvation. It makes this book less memorable. It's been almost a week since I read these books and I remember less about this book than the other two books. Even with my notes.

And some of the reasoning was just silly. Too many people playing with other people's lives on a hunch. STUPIDITY!

The Snuggly
We actually get to see more romance in this book. Eli and Ruby are finally seeing eye to eye and caring less about how their relationship looks to others. Annnnnnd....we get a sex scene!!! Woop Woop. It was still YA-ish but pretty sensual nonetheless.

Final Thoughts
I really can't wait for the next book in the series. I know I am consistent with 3.5 stars for each book so far, but you have to realize that that's a good rating to me. It means there was flaws but the story was awesome and the characters were interesting. Very recommended.

This book was originally reviewed on The Book Hookup.

**a copy of this book was received for the blog tour but that did not influence the review**

First Thoughts:
That ended in the best spot. Ever. I can’t wait for book 4 though!

Pacing and Plot:
This installment definitely picked up some speed…it was action packed and I never knew who was going to survive from the beginning of one chapter to the next. The plot was pretty straight forward: defeat Lucian and his team of vampires. At the same time both Ruby and Eli know they can’t live without each other and would rather be together than any alternative.

The MCs:
I really liked where both Ruby and Eli went in this book. They both realized everything else is meaningless without the other. There were no games, no foolishness. They also had a loyalty to each other that was worth breaking all the rules for.

Romance /Chemistry:
Woohoo! Steaming it up! *fist pump* I won’t say anymore, but I’m in love.

Title/Cover:
The title is great, but nothing to knock my socks off. The cover is absolutely stunning, I love it!

Twists and Turns:
Yes. I’m trying to think of how to word this without giving anything away. I think someone should have died, but they didn’t and it is about to get pretty darn interesting. Ooooh yes, I am mysterious. ;)

Ending:
I LOVED IT! It wrapped up so well and I felt all warm inside. However, I’m pretty sure I know exactly what the evil force that Ruby is up against for book 4.

Gripes/suggestions:
When someone was kidnapped they were texting, and they waited A WHILE to send the text. Um, extremely inconsistent. I don’t understand why that was in there. It didn’t fit or make sense at all. Did this affect my love for the book? No. I still loved it!

Final Thoughts/Rec It?
Yes, yes, yes! It was a great read and I’m so into this series. I can’t wait for the next book!

Not sure what your favorite supernatural beings are? Check out Salvation by Skyla Madi for a taste of goddesses, vampires and wizards, not to mention guardian angels. Looking for breakneck action and some pretty intense attraction? This is definitely the book for you.

Ruby and Eli have tried to put aside their feelings—and their bond—for each other and they were somewhat successful but Ruby has been called back to Sage Sanctum. Being around Eli again is only a piece of everything going on and survival of any of my favorite characters is not a given from one chapter to the next. Speaking of favorite characters, how could I not like a girl who’s both a goddess and a vampire? Eli definitely does not disappoint my “thing” for guardian angels and Lucian is a vampire you can love to hate but Hunter is the one that surprised me. He’s sort of the bad boy you know you should stay away from but you just can’t help yourself.

It all comes to a head in a confrontation that is exciting and resolves at least one issue and, if I have any quibbles with this particular scene, it’s that it happens too quickly and felt a bit rushed and anti-climactic. Even so, the author left me wanting more and that’s always a good way to end a book, isn’t it?

Salvation is one of those books that most readers will enjoy best if they read the series in order. I did not and, while I can’t say that was a mistake, I know I would have had a better handle on the characters and the core story if I had already read Your Guardian Angel and Sunkissed. I fully intend to rectify my error before the next book, Oblivion, comes out because Ms. Madi is one heck of a storyteller.

I received a copy of this book for free -as part of the blog tour- in exchange for an honest review.

After the last encounter with Lucian and his vampires, Ruby had to leave behind everyone she's ever loved in order to protect them, because she knows the High Power will not rest until he has her.

It's been a lonely year for Ruby, until Hunter -as his new vampire self- appears at the bar where she works. Ruby knows is time to flee and luckily she's received an invitation to go back to Sage Sanctum.

And that's like the first chapter... I mean, this one is so action-packed you can't even blink. I just loved this one so much, I think I finally fell in love with this series.

We go back to the school and Ruby meets again with Eli. There's a lot of anger between them, but also the love they feel for each other is still there and it's more powerful than ever. Now they are sick of all the games, they already decided that a life without the other is no longer an option, no matter who they have to fight. I loved that!

It's really hard to review this book and go into detail without spoiling everything out... so I'm just going to say that if you liked the previous two book -even if it was just a little- you should not miss this one... It's fantastic! It exceeded all my expectations and the ending blew my mind away. I really have no words.

I want the next book like RIGHT NOW!

Much better than book 2!!!! I liked the resolution at the end & it wasn't a cliffhanger but she could write another story.

Mila was annoying in this book, and has growing up to do.

I think I liked Ruby best in this book. I think she has really grown & is thinking about things instead of acting first.

Still love Eli.

I LOVED Hunter in book 1. But through all these books he was never really explored it was here is the other part of the triangle. I think there could have been some great moments between Ruby & hunter that made me believe all these described feelings , but it just wasn't there. I like Hunter but I think he was short changed in the character development area.

these books are so underdeveloped. there is no character development for Hunter to be in love with Ruby. It just isn't there. The author is cutting/editing the story too short. Also one of the pivotal scenes, Ruby is just hanging around waiting. Ms. Madi has a some awesome ideas (i.e. the bracelet that limits Ruby's powers) but never goes any further with it except to introduce the conflict and simply resolve it. These books are a poor version of the vampire academy and the pure/half blood series. very disappointing.

OMG so much better than the 2nd book so glad Lucian is dead! And Eli Eli Eli <3 love him!!! But poor Hunter can never measure up to Ruby 's LOVE for Eli I kind of felt sad for Hunter but I think he's just obsessed with her. This series just continues to get better and better.
Ruby is basically forced back to Sage Sanctum... she didn't want to go, but with Hunter and Lucian closing in on her, she has no choice...
Back to face her best friend, her first love, and a school full of people who openly hate her, and few who respect her.. on top of that, she may be the cure the world needs.

So far I really have been enjoying this series. I read both the second and third novels of this series in the same day. The witty remarks are hilarious and the cheesy moments in these novels are so cute. Some moments made my heart drop and I couldn't help but sympathize with the characters. Overall, this series is amazing and the forbidden romance between Eli and Ruby is adorable.

I loved the 3rd story as much as the 1st, these books are such a feel good easy read story that they are hard to put down. The characters are written so well that it was easy to get lost in their story, lifestyle and relationships, 1 part in this book had me quite emotional & had plenty of action. I would highly recommend these books!

Ugh, I'm over it. The whole series is juvenile but not in the good way. "And then she was having sex." Literally, that's all she wrote. I have a problem, and it's that when I start a series, I finish it... I think this one will break my record. I don't think I can force myself to read the last one because I just don't care what happens. Blah.

Has its moments

This series has highs and lows, and those include heartbreaking moments. I feel like the editing could have been better, in each so far, I have found annoying little errors that ruin the flow for me. Overall not a bad story, guess book 4 will tie up a few loose ends.

Lovely story. I enjoyed the love triangle and the writing so much! But I wish the plot had been a bit more intricate and longer and I totally wish this was longer so I could sink into this paranormal romance, but anyways, loved the series and I'm officially a fan!
