When William Murphy suddenly finds himself falling to his death, he thinks that maybe his luck has finally caught up to him. What he doesn't know, is that he's right. Instead of dying, he lands in the realm of the Greek gods. There, he meets a mysterious and uncooperative girl who seems to know more than she's telling. With great reluctance, and a bit of curiosity, he follows her into a land of myth where monsters are the people and gods actually exist.
Unlike most free titles I download, this one didn't languish in the hinterlands of my Kindle for months on end. As soon as it downloaded, I started to read it and was completely hooked by the end of the second chapter. I finished it in 2 days but only because I had to go to sleep at some point. I love the premise and how it's handled so deftly. The humor adds a pleasant tang to the drama and mystery of the tale. I loved it so much that I am seriously chapped that I cannot get the next book in the series yet. One of the best cliff-hanger endings I have read in a very long while.
