The woman's recording audio quality was much lesser than the man's, which is distracting.
The writing did not appeal to me, making for an unenjoyable experience.

I went into this as I do with many books going by the cover which is much different on
Netgalley. It is a sweet secret UK Billionaire romance.
I just couldn't find a realistic connection between the MC's. I felt there was a lack in the building of their relationship, too much was concentrated on their past and present life issues. I did like the plot but I just wanted more which is why I gave it a 3.5 and rounded up.

This book is a little bit like a pizza with the works, there is a lot going on.

Dual POV
FMC - Bella, under-appreciated/overworked ad agency member
MMC - Joe, one-man-show (owner, chef, and delivery man) of Joe's Eatery

The writing style wasn't bad and the characters were interesting enough for me to keep reading. However, lots of the situations and the accompanied dialogue was unbelievable and non-realistic and there are a lot of tropes shoved into the story.

I was shocked to see that there are 43 chapters in this 226 page book. Some of the chapters are only a few pages and probably could have been edited together or taken out entirely. The FMC and the MMC don't actually know that they have spoken to each other until Chapter 8, which made their relationship feel a bit secondary to all the crazy work and family drama both were experiencing.

Once they did meet, the dual POVs could get confusing, especially when Bella and Joe were in the same scene at separate times. The timeline would reverse to gain the other person's perspective, which leads to redundancies that had already been solved.

1-1.5 🌶️ open door romanctic scenes

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for an honestly review and was not paid or coerced into writing a review.

1.25 ⭐️ To say this book disappointed me would be an understatement. It started off with most things that we enjoy in a romance novel. We have this hard working woman who is completely undervalued at her job and this rich, hot, restaurant owner nearby. They find each other and instant sparks. Then it starts to go downhiill…

The FMC was insecure at the most inappropriate times. The first time with the bed incident— I feel like it would’ve been understandable if she was much younger but at 30, just tell the guy that the sheets got stained…no big deal. Then he CLEARLY has an emergency and rather than worrying about him and his dad’s health, she’s wondering why he hasn’t reached out. Are you serious? She even sees him at the hospital and rather than go up to him and ask how he’s doing AS AN ADULT SHOULD, she drowns in her insecurity and again, wonders why he hasn’t reached out. It isn’t until her brother tells her what happened to MMC’s dad that she chooses to care about anyone other than herself for once. THEN they’re at the funeral and is she concerned about how he’s doing? Of course not because she is so unbearable. She’s telling his mourning sister “I don’t know what we are! I don’t know if he likes me like that”. Fast forward, they have sex again, say they love each other (still 0 chemistry at this point) and later on, she is SHOCKED when he refers to her as his girlfriend. You both just admitted your love for each other, why is this a shocking moment? Disappointing story. I had so much hope for it.

The audiobook itself was certainly flawed. The FMC narrator has extremely poor audio quality. It made it really hard to enjoy the parts from her point of view. In addition, there were moments where an accent was attempted. I would prefer the story without the mimicked accents. They did not sound good. The MMC had great audio quality, but there were some parts left in chapter 34 where he was correcting himself and re-recording. I really liked his voice and he read it very well.

Thank you NetGalley for this - I just want to start off with the positives. Bella is a hard worker, I do admire what she’s doing with her family. She definitely gives older-sister vibes, even when she’s getting crapped on by her boss. Joe is still a bit of aloof. I do love that he’s caring and protective. He’s also close to his sisters and the want to be close with his father even though he’s distanced himself from him.

What I didn’t enjoy is the fact that Bella is annoying. She goes on about how she wants to talk to Joe, but feels like he’s pushing her to the side… ma’am… his father JUST died, left him this crazy billion dollar company, found out that his dad was messing around with his ex - right after they broke up (it was years ago, but still), and in the middle of this is trying to figure out what to do with his restaurant. Like what do want from him?

Now Joe.. while I’m trying to like him, I don’t know too much about him. Throughout the whole thing. I wish the family drama was explained more, I was wanting more romance, I don’t know. He felt like a shell of a character - super promising and set up for so many possibilities.

I wanted to like the book, but the random side story lines was distracting. The multiple pov was fun, but it got a bit confusing at times. I felt like there was a lot going on and the romance between these two characters was rushed. I can enjoy a quick romance, but this seemed like it was lacking and hurried out together to mimic something. Honestly, I was more interested in their lives aside of their relationship.

This was more of a 2.5 ⭐️ for me.

Many thanks to NetGalley, Audio ARC provided by Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op and the author for the ALC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This one was so much better than the Makeup Girl. Even then everything was too quick yet not really?? It was a ONS?? but wasn't. Like I did like how organically everything came together yet it felt too weird? artificial? I don't know how to explain it I guess.

So Bella works as a social media marketing manager and meets Joe properly when she orders pizza for her friend and he comes to deliver it. But it turns out that Joe had already seen her and was attracted to her and was sad he didn't know who she was?

I was so annoyed at Bella for the way she was getting frustrated st Joe?? like Girl you know what is going on - seriously.... Anyways I was also annoyed at Joe for how taken for granted he was taking the whole scene to be??

The narrators were good at the characters, even though the accents sort of went in and out.

This is a light hearted romance between the pizza guy and an overworked pr executive. If listen to this for what it is its enjoyable, however it does have problems. It spends too little time in the before and how the relationship happened and then true to life concentrates on real life issues but not how they effect the relationship. It lakes a bit of substance , the pov make interesting listening but the quality of the male recording was a bit off compared to the women's. This is perfect for romance readers who like this approach to love. While the lack of what happened before spoiled the overall story for me it was enjoyable as an airy fairy romance , so it 3.5 rounded to 4 as i know a lot of people will like its easy going approach. Thanks netgallery, publisher, author and narrators.

This is why I don't give a lot of thought to reviews before I read a book. I enjoyed this one a lot and I am really glad to have read it.

There are a lot of edits missing, clearly marked parts where the narrator indicated a repeat to get it right but both versions are left in. The first couple times I thought I was losing my mind. haha It was still great narration!!!

The idea for the book was cute, but the relationship jumped from 1 date straight into relationship/I love yous category without any build up. which is a very different take in insta-love.
The male narrator is great, but the dialog between characters is un-relatable.

***** I received this as a free audiobook from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

I thought this book would have more humor in it. I found this book very dull and rather boring. The characters weren’t very exciting and the storyline was mediocre.

3⭐, 2🌶️

This book was cute, but nothing extraordinary for me. I'm writing this review a week after finishing the book and struggling to remember any of the plot or dynamics of the couple.

The branding of this as an erotic novella threw me off - there were like 3 spicy scenes total (it felt like a contemporary romance) and 8 hours, which felt like a full length novel. I did ejoy both of the narrators work.

(I want to say that the cover and blurb on goodreads aren’t matching to the book)

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

It was a quick and sweet read! What sold me is that the MMC owns a pizza place. I loooove men who knows to cook 😋

I wasn’t very fond of the writing though. It skipped some action and sometimes it got me confused on some scenes. It was especially felt during smut scenes.

I also wasn’t liking the chemistry between main characters. It felt rushed and nonexistent. I feel it’s hard to write a proper one (chemistry) if one of the tropes is insta love which I’m also not a fan of.

"The Pizza Man" story is a modern romance novel told from two different perspectives: Joe, a pizza restaurant owner, and Bella, a social media coordinator at an advertising firm.

The plot revolves around Joe's dissatisfaction with his family's business and his passion for cooking, which led him to open his own pizzeria. Simultaneously, Bella is frustrated with her job due to nepotism and a glass ceiling preventing her from getting a promotion, despite her hard work. Their paths cross through a pizza-themed advertising campaign that Joe reluctantly agrees to, and later, when Joe delivers a pizza to Bella's workplace. The story explores their initial attraction, professional struggles, and the complications that arise from a missed connection and a dramatic misunderstanding at a work event. It concludes with them navigating their budding relationship amid personal and professional challenges.

The author's literary approach is characterized by a dual-perspective narrative, which provides a comprehensive view of the main characters' internal thoughts, motivations, and professional struggles. The simple and accessible language, combined with a focus on character development and romantic tension, positions the novel squarely within the modern romance genre. The storytelling style effectively builds empathy for both protagonists by showing their vulnerabilities and ambitions from their own viewpoints.

Eddy's technique for character development is particularly noteworthy, as the characters' professional lives to add depth beyond a simple love story. The narrative weaves in themes of career dissatisfaction and personal passion, with Joe's love for cooking and Bella's frustration with her job serving as key drivers of the plot. The pacing is deliberate, building the initial attraction and then introducing a conflict based on a misunderstanding, a common trope in romance fiction. The author's use of this dual-perspective structure effectively heightens the emotional stakes and makes the eventual resolution feel earned.

𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁:

I’m guilty of requesting books on NetGalley because of covers and this is one of those! Isn’t it just adorable, I totally went into this one blind. I enjoyed the narration and I think having it dual narrated was key to the story as this book alternated POV and it would be confusing if done by one person. I enjoyed the stranger to lovers and pace this story took. I found it was refreshing to see MCs deal with real life issues and have to work to prioritize growing their relationship. Definitely some heavier undertones in this one.

𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐬:

Bella works in a thankless job as a marketing consultant. Her job helps fund her mom’s health expenses so she doesn’t make waves. But it’s getting ridiculous and her boss is making it very hard to work there.

Joe is giving everything he has to startup a pizza eatery, it’s been his dream to run a restaurant. He is definitely not following in the family footsteps as he walked away from the family business. He wants to build something on his own without the ties to his billionaire father.

Bella collides into Joe for the first time when he’s out on the street dressed as a slice of pizza. Then from there they keep bumping into each other as they live in the same neighborhood. So the question is how many times do you bump into the same stranger before they become something more.

Fate definitely has plans for these two they just need to prioritize finding love over what life throws in their way.

𝑳𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒀𝒐𝒖’𝒍𝒍 𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒅:

* Strangers to Lovers
* Social Media Coordinator FMC
* Pizza Eatery Owner MMC
* He’s a Secret Billionaire
* She’s Working to Pay Medical Bills for Mom
* They Both Live in Same Neighborhood of Calitain
* Death of a Parent
* Novella w/ Spice
* Alternating Dual POV

Joe sees Bella one time when she comes into his pizza shop and is smitten. Bella is having some family hardships, and trouble at work. When Joe's world implodes, Bella is there for him. But is it just a fling, or is this something that can last?

It was sort of just... bland. I didn't care about any of the characters, and the story didn't really draw me in at all. They seemed like teenagers going through adult things, and it was annoying often. There were many times where I was just confused at why the character was doing what they were doing or thinking what they were thinking.

Spoilery examples:-The FMC's best friend finds out she is on a date and begins pestering her and blowing up her phone to the point where she has to go to the bathroom to talk to her. Then she finds out he is probably rich and tells her to get back out there asap.-The FMC is a virgin, then just jumps this guys' bones with no build up, and then freaks out about there being blood on the sheets.-MMC mentioned his dad being a constant in his life.... as they are estranged...-Then she is butthurt that the man she lost her virginity to doesn't text her back. When she knows he left because his dad had a stroke and was in the hospital, and he had no idea she was a virgin.-He says that even if his best friend frustrates him he can't stay mad at her... Sir, you just found out she's been sleeping with your dad behind your back for YEARS and gave him the recreational drug that coupled with his heart issues probably killed him.

The narration was fine. Both narrators did a good job of having different voices for all the characters.
I rated it 1.5/5 stars rounded up to 2. Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing for the advanced listeners' copy!

Thanks NetGalley for the ALC of this book. While the description and cover of the audiobook were completely different than what I received, I hope I am reviewing the correct title.

TW: death of a family member, family members in hospitals, workplace abuse, harassment, funeral, drugs (off-page), open-door/on-page romantic scenes.

There was a lot going on, and at times it felt disjointed. Separating the book from the narration for a moment- it was very, very hard to get into. The female narrator often felt as if she was reading off the paper at points and her dialogue delivery just felt forced. Since this is a dual POV story, there was also a male narrator (British) while the female sounded American. Not that this necessarily but the mismatch felt off. There was no chemistry between them, not that there has to be since it is an audiobook, but in my experience, most audiobook narrators add enough breathiness and intonation to bring the story to life. That didn't happen here. I felt nothing for any of the characters aside from, "Is it over yet?"

About the book itself:
We have Bella, an overworked & under appreciated advertising agency employee, and Joe, the owner, chef, and delivery guy for Joe's Eatery (he's apparently a great chef, and a secret billionaire).

I continued to listen to see if it would get better; spoiler, it did not, at least not for me. The dialogue didn’t feel believable or realistic. Some tropes felt forced. I think part of the issue was the structure; even though it alternated between Bella and Joe’s chapters, the narrators still performed each other’s dialogue. So Bella’s narrator voiced Joe during Bella’s chapter, and vice versa. It didn’t work.

Joe's father's death also felt oddly timed.

Two stars is being generous. It wasn't my cup of tea, but it might be someone else's.

‘I remember the first time I saw her. It was the week my restaurant had opened. Steam rose from the pots, fogging up the windows, but her voice cut cleanly through the haze.
“Can I get a chicken pizza?’ She asked.’

Joe has set up his own business making the best pizzas in Calitain.
Bella works in a commercial company, working harder than all the executives but constantly being ignored for her efforts.
They know of each other, they’ve seen eachother but it’s not until a Gala and grief when their paths entirely cross.

We love a slow burn romance with characters you can relate to. We have all had some kind of experience with sexism in a workplace or being ignored for all the hard work you have completed. ‘I was stuck in a cubicle, lonely, while my boss acted like he could pimp me out to some sleazy client.’ Or, wanting to succeed in your passion but needing the confidence boost.
There is nothing more attractive than a man who shows his passion throughout his work: ‘This place was my dream, built on passion and a genuine love for creating good food. I wasn’t about to hand over my kitchen to just anyone.’
The Pizza Man is a slow-burn romance which allows you to fall in love with the characters and plot. You want them to want eachother throughout, you want the best for both and you never stop caring about these two characters.

I would have loved to have an ending to the storyline with Werner and Grayson beyond what we had. However the romance and connection between the characters made up for it.

4 stars

I was instantly drawn to this one as soon as I spotted the name - who doesn't need a bit of pizza in their life !?

But as soon as I saw this cute front cover too, I was completely sold!

I absolutely loved our characters, Bella and Joe.

Despite Joe's background, I found them both to be so relatable and that made it easy for me to become immersed in their individual stories and of course to root for them as a couple throughout too.

This was a bit of a slow burn, but there was so much else going on that it still felt as though I was skipping through the pages and racing towards the ending.

I just couldn't put this down.

I really liked that there was some conflict along the way, but that this didn't completely blow up.

Each event was easily explained away and that was it, sorted and move swiftly on.

I found this quite refreshing as so many romances dwell on these areas and I find that frustrating at times.

The dual pov format worked really well here and allowed us to really get to know both Joe and Bella fully.

I love getting right into our characters heads and exploring their feelings, fears and inner monologues.

The dual narration really enhanced this aspect.

It was also nice to see other family characters throughout.

These were all well developed and not just sitting around the edges of the romance.

I could see some scope for a sequel maybe?

There's a little touch of spice in here. This was well written and in keeping with the tone of the book, whilst also progressing the relationship perfectly.

A great read which I devoured in just one day.

Okay, I'm going to be 100% honest here. Normally, I'm not a huge fan of romance books or novellas. They all tend to sound the same to me. However, Eddy Twice has a way of accomplishing more in 100ish pages than most authors can in 400 pages. She can evoke a whirlwind of emotions, its crazy. I find myself laughing out loud throughout a lot of this book. Yet the it was more than just a romantic comedy. The author makes you care about the charators.

This book had me in stitches more than once. The whole mishap with Bella being a little tipsy when she was supposed to meet her BFF's "friend" was absolutely fantastic. It was a perfect blend of humor, sensuality, and cuteness. The irony of the situation added a fantastic touch!

I absolutely loved Bella's character. I found her to be relatable. Granted, I haven't been in the same situation as her at 25 (lol), but if I were, I can totally imagine feeling the same way. That said, I'm so glad things turned out the way they did. It was a much better outcome considering her personality. She would have regretted it otherwise. And Joe, well, he is so much more than just a pizza man.

But I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll stop there. This is yet another fantastic book from Eddy. I recommend reading it if you're seeking a steamy and charming romance that you can devour in a day or so. It's definitely a page-turner. Just a word of advice, though—don't start reading too late at night, or you'll find yourself up all night, desperate to finish the rest!

Rounded up from 3.5 stars.

By the cover and blurb both are not matching. The ones from ARC is by the same author and same book title, but it's about Bella & Joe.

The story is beautiful and a quick and easy read. Actually, it took me 2 days, and I didn't want to put it down. I like the build up, how they finally gotten together even though it can totally be interpret as creeper stalking. But Joe doesn't want to be known as a spoilt billionaire's kid, trying to break out on his own. Bella kinda given up on love but maybe this guy can be true. Bella can stand on her own, and she has her own set of baggage. The money thing never really came up between the two, even though both parents were next to each other in the hospital.

Their misunderstanding was dumb, but Joe's sisters cleared it up quickly. I love both of their support systems to help balance things out. I will say, the point of clarity for the two to clear the air was anti-climatic, and maybe alot of people's lives are that way. But for a novel, it was a little bleep.

Like I said, the story on the build up was well done and beautiful where two people came together in the most destined way. The conflict came with a price, and it felt like the focus was more on Joe's said than Bella's side. Neither good nor bad, just unbalanced view. But darn it, I wanted to know what happened, so stayed up way too late just to finish the book.

I listened to the audio which had dual POV narration and there was a very noticeable difference between the recording quality of the male and female narrators. It wasn’t that the woman did anything wrong, but the poor audio quality was distracting. (JK, I made it to Ch 33 now and there are weird editing errors in the guy’s audio as well!).

This book was not my fave and was honestly confusing at times. The FMC narration had an American accent for herself and some other characters, but British for others. The MMC had British for himself and pretty much British for everyone else? I was super unclear about where they lived, which was compounded by the fact that the American FMC’s mom was in the hospital nearby and she had a ton of bills…like, if they are in America, yes, but that wouldn’t be the case in Britain right? I don’t know. It bothered me.

The FMC was super insecure…as a person with anxiety I can identify with that but it was to the point of uncomfortable immaturity. She had several crash-outs about the MMC’s interest-level/feelings for her and it was really cringe given that he was dealing with a personal crisis that she knew about.

And my last bone to pick, the number of coincidences in this was WAY to many. A couple is expected in a romance. Constant coincidences? Nope, can’t suspend my disbelief any more.

Read if you like: Insta-love, secret billionaires

A cute and short strangers to lovers book. It's perfect for someone who wants a cute palate cleanser before diving into another series or someone looking for a shorter read.

The book is on the shorter side, but it doesn't lack anything! The story dives into complex issues such as loss of a parent, struggling with paying for your parent's medical expenses, a crappy job, and diving into a new relationship. It is delivered with a well done dual narration.

This book felt like I was looking into the mind of my younger self. I got frustrated reading about the FMC spiraling that the MMC left her apartment that morning and hadn't responded to her texts or calls. It was only noon. But then I thought back, and yes. I was absolutely like that when I was in my early twenties. The struggles were relatable. Troubled relationship with parents, the thrill and nervous energy of a potential new relationship, and the questioning of your career choices. I think everyone can relate with the FMC having a bad boss who makes everything unnecessarily harder.

My only complaint is that the relationship between the main characters seemed to move quite quickly. In the context of the story, it makes sense. I just wish we had a bit more time before they were in love. Before that, I thought their relationship progressed very organically. I enjoyed that.

The Pizza Man is a charming and heartwarming slow-burn romance that feels like a warm hug—plus, it’s packed with mouthwatering pizza descriptions! Eddy Twice crafts a sweet and engaging story about Bella, an ambitious advertising professional, and Joe, a dedicated pizza chef with big dreams. Their paths cross unexpectedly, leading to a delightful, slow-building romance that’s both realistic and endearing.

I really enjoyed the chemistry between Bella and Joe. Their banter felt natural, and their personal growth throughout the story added depth to their relationship. The alternating POVs gave great insight into their individual struggles and emotions, making their journey feel even more authentic. Plus, if you love foodie romances, this one delivers—Joe’s passion for pizza practically jumps off the page!

My only small gripe is that the pacing felt a bit slow at times. While I appreciate a good slow-burn, there were moments when I wished things would move a little faster. That said, the payoff was worth it, and I genuinely enjoyed watching their relationship unfold.

Overall, The Pizza Man is a cozy, feel-good romance that’s perfect for readers who love food, heartfelt connections, and love stories that take their time. A great pick for fans of Emily Henry or Tessa Bailey!

I listened to The Pizza Man as an audiobook, and the narrators, David Hoskin and A J Wilder, absolutely knocked it out of the park. David, as Joe, initially sounded a bit older than I imagined for the character, which threw me off at first—but as the story unfolded, I completely fell for his portrayal. He brought so much emotion and depth to Joe. A J Wilder is one of my favourite narrators, and she gave Bella such a dynamic, lively voice that fit her perfectly.

The story itself is heartwarming and handles some heavy topics while still feeling like a light, feel-good romance. Bella’s life at the advertising agency is all work, until Joe, a pizza delivery guy in an oversized costume, unexpectedly becomes her client. From there, stolen glances, shared moments, and lingering kisses draw Bella toward Joe’s carefree spirit and infectious charm—a huge contrast to her structured, work-focused world.

I loved watching Bella wrestle with whether she should stay safe in her familiar routine or take a chance on the unknown for true happiness. You really see both characters grow as individuals and as a couple, making this a sweet and satisfying read.

If you’re looking for a romance that’s fun and heartwarming, with narrators who bring the characters vividly to life, The Pizza Man is worth the listen!

The Pizza Man is an adorable contemporary romance, enhanced my the narration of David Hoskin and A J Wilder. I was drawn to the book from the description and cute cover, and I’ve been down a contemporary romance rabbit hole recently.

It’s not exactly that it disappointed me, but more that it felt very predictable. I enjoyed the second half a lot more than the first half, I felt like the first half was a little disjointed, I think so things came a bit out of no where - her being a virgin, the friend sleeping with the MMC (Joe’s) father and giving him poppers.

Smut wise everything felt very practical, everything stating action after action. Which is also reflective of everything within the novel, I think the prose could have done with some more descriptions - especially about the food. We’re supposed to see Joe as a good cook, but it’s all very practical in what he’s doing or simple meals and ingredients until about 80% through - I would have liked to have seen more descriptions around this to understand his passion about cooking better before the last quarter, why he’s so prepared to put on the pizza costume in the first place.

It was cute overall and the audiobook really did add a lot with the performances of the two leads really helping with the flow of the novel.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC audiobook.

I enjoyed this story although it felt a little rushed and really wanted the chapters to be longer to help build the tension and provide a little more support to the plot.

I loved the characters and felt they were well written and were dynamic, the pace was very fast but the chapters felt like they ended very suddenly and on the occasions that the characters overlapped it felt a little disjointed and unecessarily repeated.

The most frustrating was the FMC and her reaction to the post first night events, she was very erratic and it felt that she was acting out of character and to say that her lack of sympathy to the MMC's family drama was at times silly and really started to lose my interest at how angry I was at her. She was very immature at times and felt like she needed to have more of a steel backbone. Her friends and colleagues didn't help and their advice was lacklustre. Her losing her virginity caused her to act like she had been attacked, considering that im assuming she is in her early 20's and holding down a job I was shocked at how she handed the situation.

The MMC asking her to attend a funeral after meeting her a couple of times and one night was a little jarring but I was able to look past it.

The narration was good and the pace was good although I had to have it on 2x speed as it sounded a little too slow at times.

The Pizza Man was a really cute read overall, but I have to admit, there were several moments that almost made me DNF. The main character's immaturity and naive mindset were so prominent early on that it became hard to stay invested. She constantly spiraled into these internal monologues—wondering why he hadn't called, debating if she should reach out, and questioning whether she was just a one-night stand. It had that “main character syndrome” vibe, where everything revolved around her emotional perception of the situation. Honestly, it grated on me more than once, and I found myself rolling my eyes or putting the book down in frustration.

That said, there was a bit of growth from her by the end, and I started to wonder if the author intentionally crafted her that way to show a deeper transformation. If that was the case—well played. It ended up feeling a little more deliberate than accidental. Even still, I found myself much more invested in his storyline than hers. While she came off immature and self-centered for a good chunk of the book, he brought depth and emotional weight that kept me turning the pages. In the end, it was a light romance with some good moments, but the journey there was definitely a bit bumpy.

This was such a cute story romance, and I love the secret billionaire trope!! 🤗. I also loved that the characters dealt with real-life-problems.

I think my biggest critique with this book would be the lack of character development. The 2 main characters were a little two-dimensional & unrelatable making it difficult for the reader to connect with them. The characters’ lack of depth, I think, made the narration difficult. There were also a LOT of secondary characters which made it difficult to keep track of everyone and how they fit into the story. (Another thing that really pets my peeves is the use of the sentence:” I could care less.” 😖)

I loved the premise for this novel, and think it had true potential, but overall felt unfinished to me.

Tropes:
*Strangers to Lovers
*Secret Billionaire
*Workplace Romance
*Death of a Parent
*Dual POV
*Mild spice
