When I found this book I was looking for a better way to handle interruptions. I was getting to a point at work that I couldn’t go a day without anger and frustration over constantly being interrupted. I knew that I would not be able to change my work environment completely, so I would have to change the way I handle the interruptions and the way I manage my time.
This book gave me some techniques to minimize the interruptions, and be able to relax and focus without anxiously anticipating the next one. I have used those tips, as well as some of the other techniques mentioned to schedule my day, plan out my tasks, and have ‘catch-up’ meetings with my employees so that they save up any of their questions and concerns for two 15 minute blocks a day.
In our world today, where time seems to be compromised, Le Blanc shows how to allocate precious time by prioritizing and treating time as a commodity. In other words time=money. Unlike other time management books I've read, this one offers some lesser known techniques to utilize our schedule better. With the exponential proliferation of technology, devices that seem to make us on 24/7, it affects our attention span and forces us to multi-task. This for many of us, is not the best way to use time management. The author explains how we can control time rather than time controlling us.
