Review:
Her Twisted Pleasures is told as a series of vignettes. Each chapter is a sexy scene told from one of three POVs and takes places in a new setting and time. It progresses linearly, so it is very easy to follow. And, I have to say, I really did love that Miz James decided to tell it this way. I don’t believe I’ve ever read another vignette-style novel. It gave the story a fast pace that pulled you along from one chapter to the next. And it was exciting to know that it was never going to slow down, never let up.
The first, and primary, point of view is Talia. Talia, a paralegal, is in a relationship with Will—her first long term relationship. Ever. Talia craves change. New things. Different things. The familiar usually bores her pretty quickly. Something about Will, however, has kept her interested. More than interested, she’s grown to love him. But that doesn’t curb her desires, her need for adventure and spice.
The second point of view is Will. Will, an undercover vice cop, knew from the beginning that Talia had restless tendencies but he couldn’t stay away. As their relationship nears the one year mark, he begins to worry about her seeking some strange elsewhere. In order to prevent that, to control it, he asks his best friend Alex to seduce her.
Which leaves us with the third point of view, and my personal favorite, Alex. Alex, a lawyer at the same firm that Talia works at, is a bit of a manwhore. Or a lot of one. When his friend asks him to sleep with his girlfriend, he doesn’t even bat an eyelash… because, the truth is, Alex has always wanted Talia.
And from there we get a very sultry and seductive and entangled romance. It was both titillating and torturous the way that Will lets Talia believe she is cheating on him, all the while getting seriously turned on by her exploits. And, woah, does Alex deliver the sexy on each and every said exploit. That man is… so dark and morally ambiguous that you can’t help but want him. Talia definitely gets all the kink and spice she can handle!
I was a bit worried, initially, because Talia likes to use cute-cutesy words for her lady parts. I didn’t know if I could take an entire novel of “my button” and “down there.” Thankfully, her silly terminology actually has a point and, though she grows bolder as the story progresses, it actually became really funny anytime she used them.
Her Twisted Pleasures had me till the very end. I became so invested in Talia and Alex and the feelings that grew between them. I desperately wanted their HEA. My only true gripe is that when it ended, it felt unresolved. Thankfully, Miz James promises to give us more of Talia and Alex (and Will too). This story was H-O-T. I can’t wait for more!

Ridiculous is the first word that comes to mind. this just wasn't for me. I hated all the characters. Talia, especially, annoyed the ever living shit out of me.
The terminology drove me crazy and I found myself skimming over the endless sex scenes. When an actual line of dialogue popped up, it just made me hate said character even more.
I hate to not finish a book. That's why I kept going. I needed to know...and what I know is this book/author is not for me and I will not continue with this series.

If I had a shelf called "hottest, filthy, twisted smut" this book would be on it.
It's really hard for me to rate this book and the 2 that follow it. First of all, I think they should have been one full length novel. No reason for there to be 3. There was a lot of potential here. With some editing, some further character development, and a little more plot, there could have been an excellent, cohesive, novel. As it is, its little more then smut with wishy washy characters.
The 3 main characters are seriously fucked up and not at all relatable. BUT, for all of us who enjoy some twisted kinky fuckery, this book has it in spades.
If I were rating the series on filthy smut, it would probably be a 5 start book. Rating it on plot and flow I'd MAYBE give it 3 and thats generous. It is very possible the author was only going for hot smut, in which case, mission accomplished.
I'll also say book 1 was the best of the 3 IMO

Sex sex and more sex
If you ever wanted to know what it was like to read the script to a pornography this book is for you. I'm not overly sure how I felt this book. It has it didn't really read as a book however I did finish it so there was something good about it. The three main characters are completely screwed up in the head and screwed each other to take the focus on of it. There wasn't anything wrong with the book I just like a little more substance in the stories I'm reading.

Wow this book was some kind of hot. No one under the age of 18 should read this book. I think I may have been to young to read it. lol. Okay now that I have that out the way let me tell you about the book. First let me say what kind of man could let the women he is suppose to love have sex with his best friend and watch. Not any men that I know but everyone is different. Talia loves sex and her boyfriend knows this so Will gets his best friend Alex to have an affair with her. Talia has no idea that Will knows everything that happens between her and Alex. Let me tell you she is not happy when she finds out. Could anyone really think that you could share bed with someone for months and never fall in love. Well you will just have to read this book to find out if that is true. Give this book a try if your looking for a hot book to read.

I really, really liked this book! A very solid 4.5 stars.
It was smoking hot, so I kept a hose near my iPad just in case it decided to combust.
I confess that I loved Alex, and was less than so-so about Will. While I liked that he was the one that initiated Alex & Talia, I just didn't have any real feeling for him.
Where is Talia's head with these two? I thought she was falling
harder for Alex, but when she was with Will she thought that if he choked her, the sex would have been better than it was with Alex, and she told Will that was the best sex she'd ever had. Argh. Now Alex is moving, and Talia broke it off with Will. I'm hoping Talia will have to run to Alex to get away from her crazy boss.
Team Alex, can't wait for the sequel!!

A nice hot "snack" - don't expect a really deep plot, but there is enough of a plot to make this a story rather than just a pornographic read. Just what I was looking for on a lazy summer afternoon.
I liked the fact that it wasn't the same old romance theme - man and woman meet, have spat, over come odds and make up. There was a little of that element to this story, but it was mostly HOT.

A lighthearted book about a girl that gets bored with her partners. I found it hard to relate with or like her, made more difficult by the jumping POVs. Some hot scenes, but the ending didn't quite work for me. No HFN or HEA in sight although there appears to be another in the series.

Better than average story
Tragic love and impressive characters fill this erotic book about three broken lives and, of course, loves. Well written and sharp where it needs to be you find it suitable for a good time and a sadly romantic story.
The three main characters are so very well developed that you really want to believe in them even if you don't really know much about their working lives you know about their personal issues. It makes the book. A sexual read that shows that maybe pushing boundaries isn't as good as we think it will be. We will see what happens with book two.

IF PORN BOOK IS WHAT YOU LIKE...THIS IS!
It's true we've been warned, this has a clear label it's for adults only, Erotica. At the same token, the synopsis also implies it has great substance, a good plot and intriguing characters. Don't get your hopes high, that's what drew me in the first place and bought this book. To my great disappointment, this is just all about sex, pure explicit raw sex scenes, pages and pages of them, just SMUT all the way through. So to me, instead of Erotica, Porn would be more an apt label.
All three characters, Talia, Alex and Will are tough to connect with, each have their own motive. In the grand scheme of things, SEX is the one thing they have in common. They crave it, no matter how they term it, they're slaves to it.
Will asked his best friend Alex to have sex with his girlfriend Talia for as many times he wants as long as he has control of their tryst. So together, they connived and contrived ( without Talia's knowledge at first ) where Will can listen in and watch every sexual encounter of Talia and Alex like a peepshow. If he's not able to watch, Alex would meet up with him in a bar later for a drink and gives him detailed description what he and Talia did. And this is all because Will noticed a slight change in Talia's demeanor, so he says, so he's hoping to cheer her up by having sex with Alex countless of times. Believe me, there were plenty of them, anywhere and everywhere, including in Will's apartment and in his own bed too. Will would encourage and prod Alex to do it in his presence while he's cooking dinner for them. He'd pretend to step out taking a bogus phone call supposedly from his mother so he can stay in the hallway and watched Alex and Talia do the dirty. He gets so turned on from watching, I think he's SICK! He'd tell Alex what he wants them to do, though he claims he loves Talia so much, watching them doing the nasty gains him his own perverse sexual satisfaction.
Talia is one sick woman, promiscuous and a sex addict who's only concern it seems, is sex and having sex, didn't matter whether it's with Will or Alex. I really think she's a sex maniac, I mean she's just finished having hot and heavy sex with Will, leaves the bedroom while he's sleeping, finds Alex in the kitchen and goes at it with him, then goes in the bathroom and helped herself to another orgasm, goes back and join Will in the bedroom and have sex with him again.
I can't say much about Alex, he's just a guy who likes and enjoys sex, especially when there is no attachment or commitment. And of course he likes having sex with Talia since she's willing and has Will's blessings. In the end, they all got what they wanted ultimately, a manage a trois. This involves anal, raw and explicit rutting.
If you don't really care for a good story with substance, you don't care about the characters or give a hoot whether they are likable or not, and you just want hardcore porn, this book is for you. I have no qualm reading erotica, I'm neither naive nor a prude, but there's a very fine line between erotica and porn, to me, this clearly crossed that line.

He knows what she needs, and that's his best friend Alex. And after she's admitted her sexual attraction towards him Will hatches a plan.
ALEX
Alex has been hurt in the past and now only likes to enjoy casual sex. He's hot, dangerous, scary and rough. Flirting with his best friends girlfriend is fun, but Will has other ideas. Will tells him how much he loves Talia, and will do anything for her, she needs her sex life spiced up, and Alex is the person to do it. He must follow the rules; Talia gets whatever she wants from Alex, she's given whatever they think turns her on, Will gets to watch and be told about it afterwards.
This book is a full on Erotica, there's barely any romance, it's filled full with sex, and it's good sex too. Great to read an Erotica that's not based around BDSM, though it does include some great power play. 4 stars for the best sex I've read in a while. Taking away a star because I didn't really like the characters, Will and Alex's personalities were pretty defined, but apart from Talia being VERY sexually emotional and horny, I didn't know much about her and therefore didn't find her very likeable.

Will tells him how much he loves Talia, and will do anything for her, she needs her sex life spiced up, and Alex is the person to do it. He must follow the rules; Talia gets whatever she wants from Alex, she's given whatever they think turns her on, Will gets to watch and be told about it afterwards.
This book is a full on Erotica, there's barely any romance, it's filled full with sex, and it's good sex too. Great to read an Erotica that's not based around BDSM, though it does include some great power play. 4 stars for the best sex I've read in a while. Taking away a star because I didn't really like the characters, Will and Alex's personalities were pretty defined, but apart from Talia being VERY sexually emotional and horny, I didn't know much about her and therefore didn't find her very likeable.

Her Twisted Pleasures is HOT--great escapist fare. Author Amelia James notifies readers in a forward the story is complete fantasy and that she is not promoting/condoning the behavior of the characters. I think that allowed me to be more flexible and in the moment with the story. Anyway, I loved it!
Talia is in a long term relationship with Will, an undercover vice detective. She is also wildly attracted to Will's best friend, Alex, a partner in the law firm where Talia works. Will knows that Talia is bored easily, and he seeks to push her boundaries in the bedroom to keep things fresh. Alex wrote the book on pushing boundaries, and Talia can't help but be pushed by the two men in her life who are so different from one another. I'm not sure why I love this dirty girl, but I do.
This tale has lots of scorching explicit romance scenes including some light bdsm, asphyxia play, partner switching without safe sex, and one ménage scene. At times the sudden switches in point of view and a few editing bloopers (sentence out of sequence, repeated later, or run together) made things a little hard to follow, but those were minor annoyances against such an engaging story. You will not find a traditional HEA, at least not in this book of the series.
Somehow James kept all three characters in this triangle from being bad guys, and I for one will look forward to the next book, Their Twisted Love to see what hijinks are in store for next for Alex, Will, and Talia.

Okay....let´s keep this review short.
I didn´t like this book.
Don´t get me wrong. There was more than enough potential here to make this book a spectacular read. There just wasn´t enough emotions that are necessary to make a love triangle great or even good. No angst, no remorse, no guilt, no passion, no nothing. Which was sad because I had my hopes set up high after reading so many 5* reviews for Her Twisted Pleasures. I was supposed to read about sex and about a screwed up love interest. It was screwed up alright. Some readers might get a kick out of all the sex ( and this book has plenty of it ), but in the long run....a plot is what makes a book worth the read. If that´s missing ( like in this case ) then the story will make you forrow your brows more than often. And that´s what I did. I kept trying to understand the beginning, the middle part, and the end. The beginning was okay. It didn´t blow my mind but it kept me reading. The middle part is where an actual plot pops up but that vanishes in the end. Nothing fits together. It all made no sense to me. I didn´t see the BDSM, nor did I feel the romance that was supposed to be in this book. I have a wild imagination, but no matter how far I stretched it...I didn´t see any submission or dominace.
The ending was....well, if I hadn´t known that I only had 10% left then I would have DNFed this book. So...I read it to the bitter end, feeling 100% unsatisfied.
Would I recommend this book?
For readers who enjoy sex, sex, and more sex with no emotions attached: yes.
Would I re- read this book?
No.

An enticingly crafted series of vignettes/fantasies that all focus on one woman, Talia, and the two men she is involved with. Although she craves the sameness, security and safety in her relationship with Will, she longs for the release and abandon that only Alex can provide.

Never once did the point of view changes get confused or muddled, and there were subtle shifts in tone that clearly reflected the “who” in the point of view. Difficult to accomplish with a single character – many kudos to the author for managing three.
What results is a very sultry and sexy romance, where we see growth in the relationships and the characters as the story progresses and they all redefine limits for themselves and their relationships. The book description was tempting and when I started reading Her Twisted Pleasures, I thought I was sitting in a full blown porn. Sex here....sex there....sex EVERYWHERE! * dramatically falling backwards on the couch * A little less sex and a lot more story would have done this book wonders.
And where was the Dominant / Submissive-ness in this book? Where?!
The characters, especially the Heroine, were questionable. The whole Love Triangle thingy was questionable. Can a Love Triangle work when 2 out of 3 are indecisive? No. 1 out of 3 has to be confused or else it can´t be a Love Triangle.
But it turned out to be only 1 said character had his mind set and the other 2 weren´t sure about what they wanted.
And then, after countless screwings without a wink of emotions, the grand opening happened. All three characters were in the same room! Shit was about to hit the fan!! Uuuuhm....that should have happened. Instead, I was rewarded with another round of confusion.
Let´s just put it this way- I didn´t like this one. It was complicated, confusing, and even dull.
I expected more. Lots more.

Oh...to be the filling in a Will and Alex sandwich...what a thrill that would be and what a lucky girl that Talia was.
I've had this book on my kindle for a while now and just now decided to get into it...well a little warning would have been nice and now I wish I'd read the blurb first, because once I started, there went the rest of my day!
This is one of those really naughty, look-over-your-shoulder-as-you-read-to-make-sure-no-one-is-watching-you kind of book...hot as hell and with enough kink to mess up even the most straight-laced reader. This lawyer and cop buddy team of guys were used to sharing women but they did not know what they were in for with Talia...or how much she would get under their skin.
A suspenseful, steamy and erotic book with a whole lot of loose ends to tie up and more action to come in the next book as lives are hanging in the balance and danger is ahead for all three of them.
Grab a glass of wine, a quiet corner and enjoy the wild ride.

Ok umm I dunno where to start. Ok yes the sex scenes were hot! However, by the end I was over them and was actually looking for a story. I sjimmed ghrough the last half of the book to see what happened. By the end, I got the gist that she was mad at them because they lied to her about 'the plan' yet nevermind the fact that she was still technically cheating the entire time. The way she was towards the guys was annoying. At first shes this shy innocent thing. Alex was the sadistic dominating one, whilst Will is the sweet one, but by the end she goes mental cos they messed with her head, Alex is the soft one and Will is the domineering one. Seems like it all just got tangled up in the end.

OMG! This book was soooo good. The two supporting characters (the men) playing off the MC, Talia, and the fact that it ended outside of ANY of my senarios totally threw me off. I mean, I had a good idea of how things would end even though I didn't know when we would get there. But then it was like a second ending that left me going (I won't spoil it) no way? Really? All of them? I wanna say more about the ending of this book but I don't want to give it away so. I can't. But...
I CAN say that this story is filled with smokin' Hawt' s-e-x and lots of it and some romantic confusion and lots of scenes that will leave you lustful for more. >:-D

I wanted to give it a three because the writing is good but I despised Talia. I stopped reading and dropped the rating to two when she called herself a victim. Even if will knew, she still cheated and she still lied. For a woman who truly didn't act guilty, she likes to throw a facade up that she did. I would've liked her had she just owned the role like she did when she was screwing Alex. The only person I want an hea for is will and that doesn't seem like it's heading in that direction. I don't even know how Alex and Talia ended up falling in love either.

"Her Twisted Pleasures" is a series of short stories intertwining Alex, Talia and Will. The characters are well thought out and the plot is filled with hot steamy sex and romance. You will definitely need to splash some water on yourself while reading! Highly recommended to all who love a good erotic read.
