Once I started this book I could not put it down I had to know what happen next. Rose has been struggling for years and she decides to end her life but her plans change's when she meets Caleb who has a secret and who is hot. Soon she finds out that she isn't really who she think she is she is someone different. Caleb is the only one who really knows Rose and to protect her. I could go on about this awesome book, But i don't won't to ruin it for you. If you haven't read this book you need to its awesome. Hope there is another book soon!!

Compared to the other reviews I must have got the edition that came out later. Mine said revised edition in the blurb, there were very few grammatical errors in it. I loved it, I had no problems reading it. I found her keeping a secret from her family for years pretty big, at the end her mom still doesn't know.

As to the plot I found that once I started reading I couldn't put the book down. I read it from start to finish this morning :-).

I didn't give it a five because it left me wanting to know more about the characters.

I am waiting for the next one.

This book was a good read, it will definitely keep you guessing and I just love all the characters (well except a select few). It does need a bit of editing but other than that it kept me wrapped up in what was going on and Rose is Pretty badass.

This was a powerful story. Rose overcomes so much, abuse, disease, loss and finds love and strength. This isn't just a Vampire love story. There's so much undertone here, and I love every bit of strength this book showed. You can tell the author poured herself into it! It's amazing.

WONDERFUL STORY OF ONE AMAZINGLY STRONG WOMAN'S JOURNEY TO COME TO TERMS WITH HER SITUATION AND ALL THE TRAILS SHE HAS TO DEAL WITH ALONG THE WAY. THIS IS NOT YOUR ORDINARY VAMPIRE STORY. WITH THE HELP CALEB (IN ALL HIS HOT GLORY) SHE WILL SHOW THAT SHE WILL FIGHT TO THE END.

I bought this book not knowing what to expect. I was compelled to buy it because of the author bio on Goodreads. The author is a woman who has struggled in life on come out on top, she also has health issues similar to mine. Now on to the book.... I was truly impressed! I love vampire stories. I am still looking for the vampire to turn me.
Rose the heroine of the story is truly an inspiration to all women who have been beaten down by life or men. She is a very strong independent character who will do anything to protect those she cares about. Caleb is HOT, comes from money but is not snobbish. He is a little old school or gentlemanly depending on your definition. I think he is a perfect combo and just what Rose and her son Josh need in their life.
One of the ongoing conflicts is how an independent woman like Rose goes from being cut off from everyone she knows and loves to being surrounded by new people that claim her as theirs and will protect her and hers at any and all costs. Caleb is not the only one willing to put everything on the line for her, his brothers; Conner, Carson, and Clayton are right there and very accepting of their brother’s new love. Caleb’s sister Cori shows up within a few days and instantly adores Rose, she is so happy to have a new sister. The fact that Caleb and his family are so accepting of Rose and those closest to her shows how more people should behave. They break rules to let Rose become active in her friends and families lives again.
I appreciate how Angee the author didn't ignore traditional vampire lore but also added her own twist to the vampire laws and traditions. I would definitely recommend this to readers 18+ or very mature young adults. There are sex scenes (not too explicit) and violence, but it all fits within the story and does not feel forced. I would like to mention that I read the kindle edition which has quite a few typos and mixed up words in the sentence structure.

I won this book at one of Angee's events. I read some of the reviews and information didn't see all the errors that I'm reading about. I found this book to be wonderful. Rose finds out she's an hybrid vampire. And Caleb is there to help her. This book was fast paced and enjoyable. If I was asked do i recommend it. The answer is yes. Great job Angee. :-) can't wait to read more.

I'm really disappointed that I have to rate this book 2 stars. Based on feedback from others who have read it or recommended it, I expected something better. The premise reminded me of the Night Huntress series and that is one great series. In that series, the first book was slow at first so didn't hook me completely, but the ones that followed were awesome. I thought this book would be similar in that Rose is a hybrid, so was Cat. Rose is different from other hybrids, and Cat was just different and unique. Unfortunately, although the story line has lots of potential, I have to agree with some of the others who rated this book. Unless I have an earlier version, there were a ton of grammatical errors throughout the book. However, it wasn't just punctuation and extra/missing/duplicating words. It was also the style...at times it read clear and flowed well, and then at others it was a bit dis-jointed and stilted. I still think the book has potential to be really good, and I am no editor or writer myself, but I have read a lot of books and this one just didn't feel complete to me. See below for examples, but keep in mind it will contain spoilers so read at your own risk.

**Spoilers ahead**

Rose is on a plane reliving the last 5 + years of her life. Back 5 years, Rose was described as someone in pain seeking death who runs across someone in New Orleans who says she can help Rose. Rose meets Caleb who explains what is going on and that he will look out for her. She thinks he is attractive, he thinks she is attractive, but the next thing you know, she is back in the future and heading home after having "disappeared" (i.e. distanced herself from everyone close to her including her son, but still manages to fall in love a couple of times and have relationships...so why not with the hot vampire who was helping you when you thought he was attractive upon originally meeting him and understood what was going on with you? Why waste 5 years? What am I missing here?). She eventually runs into him again and things then move really fast. He tells her he is crazy about her, she realizes she is really attracted to him, and now they are bound, but not. Uh huh. Again, this could all really work if the book would have provided more context (and yes, this would have made it longer, but sometimes you REALLY need that to make it work. Ever read Sherrilyn Kenyon or J.R. Ward? They don't always worry about the size of the book, but rather that you understand what they are driving towards).

Now enter his family and her friends. I'm not going to describe the whole book, but Caleb alternates between being a bossy, controlling, but protective asshat who does not think to get to know the little woman and is then shocked and jealous when his brother does. He wavers between understanding his mistakes, but reverts back occasionally and again, this could work, but it all seems rushed. Then there is Rose. She is a contradiction. She is described as usually aloof, but yet had relationships and even loved several times. She lets Caleb treat her in ways she never would have before with anyone else, but doesn't call him out enough. Cat would have stabbed Bones to get her point across. And Rose has that potential too! Rose turns out to be this really deadly fighter and well prepared, but that does not fully come out until close to the end of the book. And it takes them all until then to realize how self-sufficient she is.

Not to beat a dead horse, but IF this book could be revised and re-released I think it would definitely appeal to more readers who love paranormal books. It does have some good twists and interesting characters (all the brothers sound yummy) for future books / novellas. In addition, this book ended before catching the man seeking Rose so definitely more to come there. Would I read the next one, maybe, but I'll be honest, I am going to read ALL of the reviews before I do. I understand that opinions vary and I don't always agree with everyone, but most will include some truths within their reviews and that will be enough for me to determine if I want to spend the money buying the next book.

I was given this by the author in exchange for an honest review. The cover and synopsis drew me in. As I read the first page, I was slightly annoyed by the many grammar and punctuation usage. I kept reading, only to come across it again and again. I'm no editor, but I was very good in reading passages and pointing out errors while in school. You may even find some in this review. Like I said, I'm no editor.

Although the title is named Hidden Family Secrets, I didn't get that from reading this. The secrets weren't revealed in this book. This is more like a prequel to something more. Getting the reader ready for the next book, is the vibe that I got. Although the incorrect grammar usage and punctuation irritated me, the plot has promise. I could definitely see myself reading the next book, if it were properly written that is.

I loved the characters. Rose is the main and the story is centered around her. Caleb is equally important. At least, that's what my perception was while reading this. Vampire stories are meant to make your own, and the author did that. The revelation of the characters and narration of events were not enough, or they were too much.

Two or three characters were talking in the same paragraph. Sometimes within the same sentence. If you like a really good vampire story, then this is for you. The plot itself has promise. If it were rewritten, it would be great. But the title needs to be changed and add in 'the prequel to...' because the only thing gained in reading this is the events that led to Rose meeting Caleb and the discovery of her talents of being a hybrid vampire. The only secrets were the secrets she kept from her family about her vampire status. Not something from deep within her family tree as the title implies. I'm guessing there has to be another book because this did not explain any 'Hidden Family Secrets'.

If you are not fond of incorrect punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, and organization like myself, then this book is not for you. It has potential but it needs to be rewritten.

First things first, I really did enjoy reading the book. I loved the plot, and the uniqueness of this story. That being said, let's get the ugly out of the way. This book needs to be re-edited, as I'm sure others have mentioned. This book can and will be truly amazing once that is done. I happened to speak with the author, and that is in the works. I truly believe deep down this book has the potential to be GREAT! There are quite (and I hate using that word, because that was one of the problems, using quite when it should have been quiet) a bit of grammatical errors, some spelling errors and punctuation errors.
Overall, this book still kept me interested. I loved the characters, I mean, who doesn't love a group of yummy vampire brothers? I know I do. Some of the scenes did come through as a little stiff, but maybe that's the way the author wanted them portrayed. The author was very descriptive in the scenes which were great.
Poor Rose has been battling some unknown disease for years, when finally she decides she doesn't wish to live like this anymore. Upon deciding that, she wanders into a psychic shop for a reading. What she doesn't know is this psychic, Magura, is real. She knows exactly what she is, and invites a very handsome male vampire to come and help her out. After this first meeting, for some reason, Rose decides to take off for 5 years, to keep her secret from her friends and family and to keep them safe. Not sure what that was all about, it seemed kind of abrupt.
Rose reflects upon the last 5 years, and heads back to where it all began, because there is someone approaching her friends and family, asking about her. Turns out it's Caleb, trying to flush her out. New things come to light, as well as new powers for Rose. They realize that even after a brief meeting and 5 years apart, they are in love with each other and have mated, and married. The book kept me intrigued, it brought in new things for a vampire, and for a very good reason, I loved the twists, and my mouth hung open. Will be reading more!

So the author is in one of the Facebook groups I am in and she wanted people to read her book. I apologize now for my kind of harsh review.
First things first, the title doesn't have really much to do with the book. What hidden family secrets are there? She tells her parents, son, friends she is a 'hybrid' vampire, so that isn't the secret. Very super briefly they mention how her son might have some supernatural things but I mean super brief maybe 3 sentences. I don't know.
Second, maybe even more importantly, this has a lot of errors. Like grammatical, I'm no grammar Nazi and I'm sure I have errors in this but if I noticed the errors that is bad.
Also the dialogue. It doesn't even sound natural. Very forced, I understand I think it is her first book but I mean is this how you talk to your friends/kids? The relationships, Rose doesn't even sound like a mother.
The plot.
Ehh I give the plot a 2.5 a few new twists but I mean nothing keeping me on my toes being super excited. If I had to have had to buy this I would be annoyed not worth it.
Seems like it could be a prequel to whatever is next. I probably won't read what is next unless it is free and even then ehhh maybe, maybe not.

*I cannot speak of any errors in this work since I did the re-editing*

Fangs, love, and stalkers... Welcome to Rose's life. Rose is an adolescent vampire. Having been bit, but not fully changed, she's suffering with something like vampire puberty. Though she handles it very well considering.
I found the story to be very engaging. While I wouldn't have used such proper speech (she is, we are, etc) in the dialogue for all the characters, I still found the story easy to follow. The story will definitely keep the reader on their toes, and have them up well past bedtime.
I give this book 5 of 5 paws

This book was a gift from the author and the first one I have read by this author. It's for 18+ readers and is about Vampires.

The heroine of this story is Rose who overcame being a battered wife and mother, having an unknown illness (doctors could find nothing wrong) and finding out she is a hybrid vampire. What an inspiration she is the way she handled everything and how she adapted to the changes in her when she found out what exactly was wrong with her. The hero in this story is Caleb (an elite vampire) who helped her understand what the problem was with her and set her up with money and blood. There is also a little twist as to what her occupation is.

They meet again after 5 years and Caleb has never forgotten her and in truth, fell in love with her. Now he just has to convince Rose that they belong together and she is his mate. You'll have to read the story and see how it all plays out. You have hot sex, , intrigue, some violence and romance too. I'm so glad I received this book. This story pulled me in from the very beginning to the very end and I didn't want it to end. So looking forward to the next book!! Thank you Angee and you have another fan!!

I wouldn't necessarily say this was a bad book but I can't say it is fantastic either. It says that errors have been fixed but from what I read they really haven't been. With that being said, that part didn't bother me all that much. Yea I had to stop a few times to figure out what was what but that wasn't a big deal for me. At times the story as a whole was real good and you think it is leading up to something really good and then it kind of falls flat. I do however think that this author has great potential and that if another book was added on to this as a series I would give it a shot. Overall the whole concept is really good and could really make a good series if done the right way.

I received an e-ARC copy for a blog tour in return for an honest review. It's just amazing at how this author sucked me in from the beginning. I loved the fact of this strong woman going through so much but yet keeping a clear head and understanding what was happening to her and how well she adapted. This is an extremely fast paced read and once I started I just couldn't stop. I desperately had to know what was going to happen next. The characters in the story are amazing. This is a recommended must read that will tickle your senses and up your libido. I am extremely excited to read more from this author and to see just where she will take us with this series.

Hidden Secrets by Angee Taylor

2 stars

This would be a great story had the characters been developed fully. The characters are very believable in their vampire/human encounters. I really liked the fact that vampires are not inherently evil just because of what they are. Love scenes are good. Rose & Caleb are good together also. Her interaction with their extended family is fun. I hope the next book is more fully developed. Could rival current day top authors with some expansion in the story line.

Insta vampire love

Where do I begin? The H and h are cardboardish, emotionally stunted and very immature. Even though the female lead is 38 and the male more than three hundred and fifty years old. There are several info dumps, I'm guessing these were after thoughts in the middle of never ending angst by our main characters.

Very dislikable and cartoonish, will not be reading other books of this series.

Omg

I was completely sucked in from the very beginning!!! Angee did an amazing job bring the characters to life!!! I love that she created Rose to be a strong independent woman even though she has an entire family to protect her. Starting book two right now and will probably be up all night reading it!! Way to go Angee!!!

Good read, needs editing

I very much enjoyed reading this book. The characters and the story line are compelling and interesting. The biggest drawback to this book would be all the grammatical errors. It did not diminish my enjoyment of the story, but they did bother me in general. They really should be fixed.
