I think I've been reading too much manga in general recently but this series was a refreshing break from the over-the-top stereotypes that come with the shojou genre. The dark and brooding hero is not an aggressive asshole constantly forcing himself on the girl and the heroine was unusual and rather charming.
Much too short but at the same time, surprisingly charming because it ends when it does.

4.5 but worth the extra bump for 5. With a title like, "The Princess of Death's Second Marriage," how could I not read? If The Earl and the Fairy, and Wallflower were to combined into a new series, I would suspect it would be something like this. You have an upstart seeking to legitimize this rule, a girl with a fascination for the macabre, and a supporting cast that reads as just ridiculous. I mean seriously, Alicia is practically a blonde version of Sunako. They have a love of horror, are not practically eye-catching in a positive way, are a great cooks, tend to be a bit of a loner, excited about living out books and movies, and are freakishly naïve about life in general. I loved Sunako, and I am sure I will love Alicia just as much. I am soo looking forward to reading the rest when I can actually stay awake for words to make sense. yay!

Такое что-то. Персонажи были неплохи, как и некоторые правдоподобные кровавые моменты, но под конец у меня постоянно было крайне скептичное выражение лица. И конец тоже ниочем. Впрочем, манга запомнилась некоторым юморными моментами и нестандартностью героини. На этом плюсы заканчиваются. Рисовка обычная, ничего запоминающегося.

I read Shinigami Hime no Saikon this morning before finally falling asleep and oh, I liked it. I'm not sure if I'd like the Light Novels the manga is based on, but the characters absolutely work for me in manga-form! Too bad the series is finished after three volumes, though! I'd like more!

I've reread this story and I could reread it over and over again because of it's unique protagonist. She's lovable and I absolutely understand how the duke fell in love with her. It's quite a funny story and my favorite characters are Ruark and Lady Alicia <3 Love them to bits. Sometimes the dialogues get a bit too serious for me especially when the little boy and his priest friend comes into the picture and starts a fight with the duke. So I skim through those parts.

A great manga. It has quite some dark themes but all around a light atmosphere. The main character is awesome, she loves dark, gloomy and interesting things and just goes with the flow. She is a cheerful soul, I loved her :D
It may be shoujo, but not in an annoying or kitschy way. The romance isn't even worth a mention. There should be more manga like this!

The only good thing about this manga is the art - that was nice and enjoyable. The plot, on the other hand, is simple and not well developed (a pity, since it had potential), always rushing in an unrealistic way. At the same time, the characters are flat, with motives which are not well based.

Nice read. Amazing art also. The heroine was very lovable. Although I have a bit of problem on other characters. The maid and the little kid were really spoiled. I really hope they somehow suffer the consequences of their action at least, but I dont think its gonna happen.

A great read though I'm still half way through it. The heroine is quite refreshing considering she's not one of those we consider a damsel in distress. The story is mysterious and a little bit funny :D can't wait for the main characters to fall in love with each other.
