A year into her life as a hunter, Lila fears nothing. That is, until she receives a vision from the Lord to hunt down a fierce hunter gone rogue. Years earlier, Joaquin was merely a lost man looking for salvation. The feelings awakened inside the assassin after his sign from God will lead him to unbearable suffering and a battle with Lila.
The Angelic Redemption series began as a dream nearly four years ago. Filled with romance and thrilling battles against evil, The Fallen was published in 2012.
Micah is due for publication in July '13 with Scattered and Wounded Soul to follow later in the year. The final two books are planned for the first half of 2014.
When I first started reading this, I wasn't sure how I felt about it, but I am so glad I kept reading. This is basically a story of good vs evil, God vs the devil, and the mystery behind whats going on, who is what, and who is the mastermind. The multiple perspectives threw me at first but than I understood how it was setting up an awesome twist I never saw coming. I can't wait to read the next book. I liked the characters though I feel like, at times, they were all over the place regarding their character. I listed as pnr but I am not sure I would call it that since everyone one is automatically mated up and instantly in love with their "mate" stranger or not. I love the story line, the plot, the idea behind the good vs evil and the hunters. I do feel some of the characters lacked depth or they just were. The deepest characters to me were Joaquin and Heidi. They had dimension and a noticeable character development I enjoyed reading about. The author is really good at hooking the reader. The mystery and story line have me hooked and dying for more. I just hope the characters become more than what they currently are. I look forward to the next book I must know what is going on in the dreams.
This book is quite different. If you are expecting the same old vampire hunter blah de blah then this isn't it. It has a lot about God and such in it. I am a Christian so this was refreshing for me but it was also quite...weird to be honest. I kept flashing back to Faith Hunter's Rogue Mage series as I read it. I am giving it 3 out of 5 because it didn't totally wow me, but I think I may read this book again just to see if I can get a different perspective on it. Overall, not a bad book, but not my favorite. Also, being self-published (it looks like) the cover didn't pull me in...I know, that shallow, vain girl that likes the covers. I don't judge a book by it's cover, but it certainly doesn't hurt to make something look nice. The end.
First of all, I won this book from Goodreads. It took me a little bit of time to get around to reading it, mostly because it is signed and I am always paranoid about cracking the covers on my signed books. I finally bit the bullet and read it and I am so glad that I did!
I loved Lila's character. I liked that she represented a strong role and stayed strong even after meeting a hottie. I also enjoyed Joaquin and Roman's characters although I am having a hard time deciding which team I am on.
All in all this was a great read. It was different from a normal paranormal romance in that I felt the relationships were more believable. It wasn't just all sex all the time.
I have not read any of Horn's books before, but I will definitely be looking into reading more!
Ok so 1st off I won this (Yeah!), 2nd the author was kind enough to sign it (thank you!). The book had and interesting story line which was great, but the characters left me a little cold. they were a little robotic. Overall I will read the sequel to see where this story will go, hopefully the charcters will become more likable as their charcters develope. Again thank you to the author and Goodreads
