Castaway

Where "Survivor" meets "Gilligan's Island" in "The Twilight Zone." Sixteen men and women are stranded on a tropical island-with an intrusive camera crew and a psychotic producer, where they fight for survival, TV ratings, and a million dollar prize. The winner is anyone who loves thrill-a-minute misadventures, gut-busting laughs, and `broad'-minded women.

The premise may be familiar, though the contestants are anything but, when a desperate network owner is hell-bent on blockbuster ratings and casts the show accordingly. Shannon, a budding novelist and former network employee, falls deeply in lust with tall, dark, paranoid Ryan, a Kentucky survivalist who is determined to win. "The course of true love never did run smooth," Shakespeare said. Even he couldn't have imagined the road bumps Shannon and Ryan will encounter en route to love and hot monkey sex.

The women are not only star-crossed, but insect infested and sand crab bitten. In this irreverent spoof, which focuses on an industry where nothing is as it seems, and no one can be trusted, Shannon and Ryan pull out all the stops to `get the girl' - and win the prize. Join them as they discover the best thing about `Paradise' is each other.

Blayne Cooper has also written under the pen name Advocate. She is the Royal Academy of Bards 2005 Hall of Fame Author and a recipient of the 2014 Academy of Bards Lifetime Achievement Award.
Born in Northern California in January 1969, Blayne Cooper is the best-selling author of a variety of fiction ranging from mystery/romance to outrageous parody. With each novel she tackles a new personal writing challenge. The result is a diverse collection of lesbian fiction.
Blayne has held a number of interesting, and sometimes rather unusual jobs (sunflower sexer), and completed a stint as a Combat Medic in the Army National Guard. Today, she is a project manager for a legal publishing company by day, and writer by night.
In 1990 Blayne graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. degree in political science. The next year she married and in 1995 she graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and was admitted into the Oklahoma Bar Association.
That same summer, her spirited daughter was born. A gregarious son completed the family in 1997. She easily ranks her children as her greatest accomplishment.
Blayne has always harbored an interest in fiction, but it wasn’t until 1998 that she tried her own hand at writing by reaching out to an online audience. A couple of years later, her work was published. While she enjoys the challenge of working in multiple genres, it's writing about the humor found in everyday life that gives her the most pleasure.
Blayne loves travel, reading, and spending long, sleepless nights crouched over her computer in search of the perfect words that will make people laugh or weep uncontrollably. She's still looking, but having a great time on the journey.
A rolling stone at heart, Blayne currently resides in the Midwest with her loving spouse, two children, and Wheaton Terrier. (from the author's website)

This is a book about a guy named Chris Noland. He is a high-payed FedEx employee that travels a lot. He has a wife named Kelly, who he loves. During Christmas time he is told that he needs to be in Asia for a meeting. His wife gives him a watch that he always keeps on Memphis time because he lives there. While on a Boeing 777-500 en-route for Asia. The pilots decide to fly around an eletrical storm. They experienced electrical problems and were forced to ditch into the Pacific Ocean. The plane nosedives into the water killing all pilots except for Chris. He hangs on to a life raft, but loses the survival package. While nearly getting sucked in by a engine turbine, he is nearly sucked down from the air in the jet. He is then hauled by tides into a small, remote island. He starts survival tactics, and picks up FedEx packages on the beach. He was cut by the creation of fire and threw a washed-up volleyball at a rock. He looked at it, and it looked like a face. He drew some eyes and a mouth and named the volleyball Wilson. He created fire, went spearfishing, all sorts of survival stuff. He creates a raft and sails out into the ocean where he is found by an ocean liner. His wife had a funeral for him because they thought he died. His wife remarried with another guy. Chris was disappointed but he then remarried with Kelly again. He says that he'll never fly on a plane again. I loved this book. If you have seen Castaway the movie, Im sure you loved it. I recommend this to anybody who likes survival, misadventures, and being stranded.

The funniest book I have ever read. Any time I need a happy lift, this is definitely my go to book. Highly recommend.
This book will make you laugh non stop that people will look at you like your crazy. And I don't mind it. It's my go-to book anytime I'm in need of a good laugh. It's just funny. And I hope that it will be on Kindle and Audible one day very soon. I just love this so much. It's nice to take a break ever once in a while and just have a good rom-com.

Actually read the online version of this - don't think the published version is available anymore.

As online fanfic, this is an old favourite of mine. I first read it several years ago when I had an obsession with uber as well as Survivor. Obviously this was the perfect story for me. The perfect book to kick back on the patio and spend an afternoon giggling and drinking ice tea.

A little over the top, but it made me laugh. The quirky characters reminded me of those typical of a Carl Hiassen novel. I would give it another half star if I could to make it a 3.5 rating.
