Great

This is another great book in the series. I loved it and am getting very little sleep while reading the series. It's so hard to put my kindle down, I just want to know what happens next and am so entranced by these books.

Hunter by Cheree Alsop is book 6 in the Silver series. This one follows Dray and Gem (from book five). Set in a small farming town, Dray is the only werewolf in the area. He was adopted, and so doesn’t really know much about his wolf side. When a cute, bouncy girl moves in with her family, he’s immediately drawn to her smell. She, of course, knows exactly what he is.

But the local livestock is being viciously slaughtered by wolves, and Dray’s parents are concerned. When a wolf is shot and Dray realizes its Gem, his whole life changes in a moment. The pack of wolves is a rouge werewolf pack making trouble, and soon Gem calls in Jaze and the crew for help. Dray finds out that werewolves aren’t the mythological something he thought they were, and finds himself in the process.

I think the part about this story I loved was the gentle reassurance Dray gives Gem after her ordeal in Lobotraz (see book five). It’s also the loving, open relationship Dray has with his parents. They didn’t know about wolves when they adopted him, but they’ve spent the last ten years supporting him anyway. And they do it again and again throughout the book.

Dray is also incredibly brave. At one point, he rushes into a burning building to save the patients. He doesn’t back down from defending his territory against the rogue pack even though he’s not an alpha. He defends Gem from jerks at school. And, in the end, he is instrumental in a fight helping Jaze, but I won’t say more and give away the plot.

Review:

"Hunter" by Cheree Alsop was a well written read. "Hunter" was the sixth book of the Silver Series of Dray Dawson who was one some hero in this read. This hero who thought he was all along meets up with Gem Hawthorne...then a wild pack of werewolf's show up too and the story really takes the reader on a action packed read, with many twist and turns. How will Dray be able to protect his family, friends and the town of 'Thistle?' Well, this is where I say you must pick up this excellent read "Hunter" to see all the what, where, how and why of it all and meet up with those wonderful wolf protectors ...Jaze, Jet, Kaynan and Vance and that is all I have to say about that other than you must pick up this read.

The characters were all very well developed that kept me reading and I didn't put it down until the last word. What I enjoyed about "Hunter" was every time I thought I knew which way this story was going this author would come in a completely change it directing it totally in another direction. However, in the end you will be given a story that shows just how this hero will "find the courage to step into the unknown" that will change his life forever.

Would I recommend "Hunter?"... I will only say YES!

I have really enjoyed this series. I am always amazed at how Ms. Alsop can craft a story that has me hooked within the first few pages. I was so thrilled to read Hunter. As we get to see how things go for Gem from Azure. I am truly empowered when I read about Gem and her outlook on life is so different than I would have pictured. Now Dray is isolated until he meets the new girl in school, Gem! Dray is always looking out for others and that is something you don't come across very often. Dray is so likeable and just a good old farm boy! One of my favorite scenes is the bailing hay with the tractor. It was sweet and fun! I will tell you all that I was impressed with the ending and how Dray put himself out to protect those he loves. Which changes his life forever! Ms. Alsop does an amazing job with character development and keeping up with past characters! I was surprised many times when I thought things were going to turn out one way and then I got thrown for a loop and things went a totally different direction. I simply could not get enough of this book! I do look forward to seeing Mouse get his story. I know I will not be disappointed. This story is not to be missed it is jam packed with first love, adventure, some thrilling fight scenes and much much more.

I truly hope you enjoy this read as much as I did!

Just FYI~ This does contain some violence.

Hunter is the sixth book in the Silver series and this time, we head out of town, to a small farming community where Dray lives. He is slightly frustrated as he is 'one-of-a-kind' as far as he knows and there are some things he just can't do if he wants to keep his secret - playing football being one example. That all changes when Gem and her parents move to town.

Yey!!! Gem gets her Happy Ever After! And she really couldn't have chosen a nicer guy. I love Dray, I really do. His commitment to his town, his friends, and his family is wonderful to read about. I love how his relationship with Gem moves quickly and yet also seems perfectly natural.

Things are hotting up for Jaze too though, which is making me long for the last book. I love how Ms. Alsop is able to tie all the different characters and locations together in such a seamless manner.

Although Jet will always be my favourite, there is something about this farm boy that has made him come a close second. Fantastic writing, smooth pacing, perfect characters - so, yep, I highly recommend this book!

Dray is a werewolf who has grown up among humans, unsure if there are really others out there like him. He struggles to live a normal life while keeping his secret. But when a pack of wild werewolves shows up to terrorize his hometown, Dray's entire world is flipped upside down.

Despite a courageous effort on Dray's part, one lone werewolf isn't fit to go up against a pack. The new girl in town, who is none other than Gem, calls in Jaze and his pack for reinforcements. What ensues is a heart pounding, thrill a minute ride that will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next.

Hunter is a story of courage, love, and loyalty that will warm your heart and leave you breathless.

Two worlds. One choice.

Dray is a country-loving werewolf who longs to be normal. When Gem enters his life, he is never the same. Her presence draws him in and soon he realizes he is not the only werewolf in the world. Then a wild pack ruins his town, and his life, and attacks those he cares about most. As a gray, he is weak compared to them. With their unstoppable power, he must summon his strength from within. One that transforms him into a classic monster.

I honestly loved the ironic title. Not only does it allude to the werewolf Hunters in this book and Cheree's other novels, but it also hints at the color Hunter Green. If you have been following my posts, you'll know that the titles in this series are all based on colors.

Dray is an awesome character. He is a lot more laid back than her previous characters. I laughed out loud a lot in this story and it kept me reading. However, there were a few typos, spelling errors, and grammatical errors along with constant page breaks. This has happened before, but some of the page breaks were unnecessary and she could have continued the book's flow instead of using them.

Also, with the beginning of the page breaks, it was hard to tell where the characters were due to lack of description. Her landscape depictions were a lot better in this one. The storyline is solid, and I loved experiencing it from Dray's perspective and imagining a southern drawl to his voice.

Dray, a big ole country boy is dealing with being the only werewolf in town. He was adopted by humans and they have always kept his secret but strange things are happening in town. Gem, from the last book, has found her parents and has moved into town. Dray knows there's something about her but doesn't know what. When they go to confront the pack that moved into the area about destroying prized cattle there is trouble.
I was so happy to see the new characters and to meet up with some of the old characters. I can't give the author enough praise for this series. She has me hook and drawn in and I don't know that I want to be let out again. LOL Many props and I'm reading the next book with much sadness that I'm going to lose me werewolf friends.

Headed to book 7

This series is warm, refreshing look into the best of humanity. It may even inspire another generation of readers. Clean young love, tender hearted caring, loving couples. A true YA series a family can share. Especially now with all the time we spend together. Read talk, story line and worlds may open for all.

During the first chapter I was worried that I wouldn't like this one. Dray is a good ole boy from a tiny town and I was just thinking Egads...where are we going with this? But the author dragged me along like she always does, forcing me to like this big, opie looking kid (in my mind anyways). And of course, here comes the Pack. It was a great story all the way around.

Hunter (The Silver #6) by Cheree Alsop

3 Stars

Hunter, so far has been my least favourite book of the series. Humans adopted Dray as a child and until his first phase at seven years old neither him nor his parents had any idea werewolves existed, and believe he is the ONLY one! All that changes when Gem and her family moves into town.

I think what bugged me about this story was the fact that we went from no werewolves, except Dray, to Gem and her family, and then a rogue pack, and it was just all too much and unlikely that so many werewolves would suddenly find this little town where never before had they bothered with it. There doesn’t seem to be anything that drew them there and it niggled me all the way through just wondering why, why here, why now? Maybe I think too hard or want to know too much, but for it to make sense I need to know these little details.

The story was action packed, with fight scenes, plenty of heroism on Dray’s part and the touch of romance I have come to expect for each of the wolves featured. Jaze and his pack are brought in by Gem and as with the other characters Dray proves himself worthy of being accepted under their protection.

Cheree’s writing has remained consistent throughout the series, her style comfortable, I would like to see a better edit but then I’m picky about these things, it is unlikely that the typo’s will distract the average reader from the story.

Dray and Gem's story was very fast paced and more of an emotional journey then the rest. I'm curious to see how everything will work out for everyone in the series. Dray is just a small town boy who thinks he's the only person in the world like him, so when he meets Gem and her parents he actually tries to learn as much as he can. Although he isn't smart with the fighting and politics of how everything works, he tries his hardest and risk everything for people he barely knows in the end to only end up having to give up his home. But in the end he did well compared to others and how much weight he actually had on his shoulders. The whole train rescue was done well and let him see into how everyone was and how grateful they were to him.

Till next time - Sweets Books

This is a great book. I give it 5 stars. It was a fun read about werewolves. Dray was very different from the others we have seen so far. I loved that we also got to see Gem from Azure (Book 5) some more. The farm and small town setting provide a great backdrop for this tale. I highly recommend this book and any from Cheree Alsop.

These books always amaze me. They are each so unique and captivating. I was glad that Gem got her mate and the story was very sweet and full of angst as usual! None of these books have let me down and I can't wait to start the next one...I'm just sad it's the last!
