60 Minutes
Amongst the drug lords, hustlers, musicians and politicians stands a single woman operating Bridgeport’s biggest sex ring. Jani’rah Eldemira Jean runs a tight ship but will soon find that even her loyal attorney can’t help her out of her situation since the feds have witnesses to testify against the Madame. With only a brief recess, Jani’rah has 60 minutes to find the witnesses and eliminate them.
Her childhood friend and sweetheart, District Attorney Daniel Morrow, is put on the case. His colleagues are depending on him to bring the notorious Madame to justice but turning his back on Jani’rah is something he can’t do.
After the case goes haywire and Jani’rah walks away, Samuel, the father of two of Jani’rah’s victims, puts a bounty on Jani’rah’s head and the countdown for her life continues as people from everywhere attempt to kill her.
Will Jani’rah come out on top once again? Or will her last heartbeat be the last tick of the clock?

Action packed!
I enjoyed the action! The story was well put together & I liked how it ended. A lot of action and a quick read make it 4 stars for me!

This was my first time reading from Fire & Ice. I heard good things about this short story and wanted to check it out myself. Jani'rah Jean aka Madame J is not only an independent woman but she operates the cities biggest sex ring. Madame J's business is very organized and she runs things with an iron fist. Loyalty is all she has and she makes sure her girls and everyone else in her circle knows that being loyal is a must, if she even thinks you cant be trusted she will make sure you are dealt with. That all takes a turn when the Madame is faced with a situation not even her lawyer may be able to get her out of. The people she once thought she could trust are now willing to turn their backs on her during her time of need. So the madame has 60 minutes during her trail to find the person who will willing to be a witness in her case and eliminate them. Will she be successful or will her time run out?
I enjoyed the story it was kind of different with the 60 minute count down. What would you do if you had 60 minutes to get your freedom or to remain free? Jani'rah has to go through this not once but twice in the story. There is a a mix up part because in the beginning Daniel was moving to atlanta with his family but then towards the end it mentioned he was in virginia unless i read that wrong. All in all was a good short story, had some drama, and a lead female running things. By the way things ended it seems to me like there will be a part 2.

What happens when a young girl's innocence is ripped away from her in more ways than one? Well a series of unfortunate events follow in suit and make her out to be one of Brideport, Connecticut's ...or the United States' most wanted Madames. Jani'rah also known as Madame J had a rough life, but the hard knocks she experienced turned her into a cold ruthless woman with the city on lock as most of the big wigs are at her feet as they themselves dabble with her 'sex for hire' escorts. But when a cop gets knocked and those in her circle start to talk, Jani'rah realizes she has 60minutes not only to clear her name, but another 60minutes to save her life. Will her high school love, D.A Daniel Morrow throw her under the jail or save her from herself? Throw in to the mix a father placing a bounty on her head to seek revenge for his daughters' demise and you have got an intricate plot filled with drama.
I really enjoyed this read. It was fast-pace and had suspense at every turn..or slide I should say of the page. I'm glad it gave us a glimpse at Jani'rah's childhood so the reader could understand why she is the way she is. All the characters added to the plot and made a smooth transition from one incident to another. The ending left me satisfied and there was also closure for the main character and even a hint of a possible continuation of the story.

Madame J is that chick hands down!! The Madame of an underground sex ring, Madame J is put to the test when she is arrested. Someone in her circle is snitching and trying to cause her downfall. In a fight for her freedom and her life, Madame J, also known as Jani'rah, proves that she is not to be messed with!! Throughout this story, you will come across so many twists and turns that your head will spin!

60 minutes is a story about Madame J, who has a sex ring. Madame J is a strong woman whom takes nothing from no one. Things start to turn worse for Madame J, she soon has to stand trial for all her sins. Lives are loss and revenge is found as Madame J tries to win her trial.
The storyline and characters are very good. This book will hold your interest. I highly recommend this book to all.

This was a good short story!! Jani'rah was a boss that was not to be taken lightly...Love the way this story was told!
