With the sudden death of her mother, Claire Kelp’s life is turned upside down, throwing her into a whirlwind of depression and emotional disconnect from the only family member she has left; her stepfather, Max. Against his advice, Claire agrees to join her two best friends on a road trip across the countryside. Without phone reception, and no way to leave, the girls must determine how to survive their time alone with the handful of suspicious people thriving in the small town.
Deciding whom to trust, and accepting that people are not always what they seem, is a deadly lesson that Claire will have to live with for the rest of her life.

This took forever to get interesting for me, and even then I didn't love it. It wasn't awful though.

Up until 50% of this book it was only earning 1 star from me. Most of that was spent describing the 3 girls personality's and what a control freak Max is.

Then the story starts getting interesting where it earns one more star. Although what was actually happening in that town wasn't what I had expected. I just kept thinking have they not ever seen a horror movie?

The the ending had a completely surprising twist earning another star. I really did not see that coming.

The only thing I didn't understand is how someone can live there and not realize what's happening.
