Jahzara knows betrayal all too well. After discovering her ex-friend was a snake and damn near losing her life behind it; she's ready to move on. The only problem is that she doesn't know which direction to move on to. Between the love she has for Quin and her undeniable feelings for Imran; she has no clue who to choose.
Imran had everything he wanted when Jahzara chose to be with him, but with his family ties and Quin back in the picture things don't go as planned. He finds himself questioning if the love he has for Jahzara is even worth the fight.
Meanwhile things are so out of control that neither of them realize that Honey is still up to no good...
Although I said I would not read the next book in the 3 book series, I found myself wondering what happened after the abrupt ending of book 1. Book 2 picks up smoothly in the lives of the principal characters, two of a trio of women-former best friends who now hate each other after one kills the third member of the trio. Unfortunately for the dead friend she was not the intended target. Although book 1 ends in the middle of a scene, book 2 picks up at a later point in time, making it easier for the story to stand alone. References to the events in the first book are encountered throughout and fill in the gaps in a way that is not too distracting. Still, I suggest that you just get the series all at once or you will be frustrated with the ending of the first 2 books. That said, this is a intricate story about, jealousy, greed, drugs, violence and street life. The story is told from at least 3 different perspectives which made the telling of the events interesting. I have decided that while I am not a big urban fiction fan, when I look past the vulgar language and graphic descriptions, there is a decent story. If you like this genre you will probably like the series and other reviewers have rated more highly. Yes, I will read book 3 in time so the strategy works.
When is part 3 coming out? This book was exciting and I'm so glad Honey and Quinn dumb butt was dealt with. In part 3 I hope we find out what's going on with Rain and why she's wanted by Chino. I'm rooting for Imran and I hope he makes it.
This was a good book...I wanted to pop EVERYONE of the characters upside their heads and tell them you can't be this stupid but as I said it was a good book. Shan is a creative author which pulled me into the book so that I could feel the way I did. Would recommend this book.
The book was really good The book is definitely a page Turner. The book will definitely keep you entertaining. Surely girl was going to hell in her life and just couldn’t get it right the twist and turns the book hat makes me want to read the third book read the book for yourselves. I’m not gonna spoil it. Yo, no lie the characters act so dumb and naïve. I really wanted to bop them. Jah was trapped in between two men. What really pissed me off because she kept running back-and-forth between the two men and then we really got me with when she gave up the Addy of her new lover
Throughly entertaining but I was quite upset with the ending...Jahzara turning just as looney as honey and threatening to kill this poor girl Rain? No way. It seemed very out of character for her. Just when I thought she couldn't be any dumber, she surprises me.
I just ran across this author and series and can't seem to put it down. I've always been an avid reader and hate to say it but haven't had the urge or got bored quickly with other books to where it's left on my shelf half read with a clip in it some have been there for years but this series I'm feeling the need to binge on...
This book was action packed from the start. Honey was a crazy chick and because of her jealousy, was determined to make Jahzara suffer. Jahzara was in love with both Quin and Imran but was unsure of who truly loved her. This book was definitely a banger, can't wait to see what happens next
I'm not sure this series should have this title, but doesn't give the storyline enough justice. That said, this was yet another page turner, which I couldn't put down and read in one go. The main thing I took from this edition is, not to pursue a relationship which has broken down badly, whether it be friend or partner.
I can’t believe Imran shot Jah twice instead of once to just stop her, it seems that everyone is gone now. I really hated it came to this, I thought Jah was smarter than that. Love is definitely blinding.
There is nothing bad that I can possibly say about Myss Shan, she does it agin. Jahzara, Honey, Imran and Quinn are all back at it again. I still can't stand Honeys trifling conniving ass but everything that happened I expected it out of her because she has no loyalty to anyone but herself. She has convinced herself that everything is Jahs fault. Jahzara, there is so much to say about her but without giving too much away I don't know how to put it. She seems confused on what she really wants. The things that transpired through out the book was basically caused by Jah. She's not thinking clearly. Imran and Quinn are at it for more reasons than one. Once again Myss Shan does not disappoint a few minor errors but overall a really good read. If you read part one than there is no reason to not read this one.
OH NO! Why did it have to end so soon! What I wouldn't do for Part 3 right now!! Someone has to survive all of this madness. I wonder who it will be???? The book was very unpredictable. I had another ending in mind, but I was pleased nonetheless. You just never know what Shan will come up with. There were quite few editing errors (typos & grammatical); therefore I gave the book 4 stars. When you have that many errors, it becomes bothersome to the reader and then a splendid book is crushed. If the editing issues are corrected it would definitely be a 5 star read hands down beyond any doubt. All and all it did not take away from the well told story. Not a bad aftereffect to an adventurous beginning. Until next time, I'll be eagerly awaiting.
Book two picks up right where book one ended, and once more we find ourselves glued to our seats - but just when you think that Honey’s finally going to get what she deserves there’s a huge twist of events and before you know it she’s being released out of prison due to a technicality. Once she’s out she continues to do everything in her power to destroy Jahzara’s life and she even teams up with Quinn to try and accomplish that. The ending was crazy and I really hope that everyone’s ok, because they don’t deserve to go out like that after everything that Honey’s put them through. I really hope to find out what the deal is with that Rain person, she kind of worked on my last nerves, lol. I mean even I can see that Imran doesn’t want her but Jahzara.
Shan does it again! The drama continues to unfold with Jah, Honey, Imran and now Quin. Honey is back to her old jealous, greedy hatred self. She's still seeking revenge on Jahzara because of her jealous ways. Quin is out of jail and trying to get back on his feet and get his life together but still very angry about Jah's deceit and new love for Imran. Imran is still very much in love with Jah and always trying to protect her from danger. Has Jah lost it this time??? Is she going to get herself together and pull through? Great book once again...will be reading book 3!
What in the world?! Quin was on one for real in this one. I can’t believe that lunatic Honey was released from jail like that. Tamar is tearing a hole in the streets but it has to be more with him coming soon. Imran shooting Jah was so left field. Her wildin' out was just crazy in itself though. The crap Rain is in is a whole other story that I can’t wait to find out about. This story was good and I couldn’t stop reading because I was too caught up on who was behind what and what would happen next. Now I just have to read the next one!
I'm giving 4 stars but this follow up wasn't quite as good as the original story. Honey is still trifling as ever but why/how the so called streetwise hustlers allowed her to keep manipulating everybody and their mother is reprehensible. Those critical moments I won't give away when Jah & Imran had a chance to stop running they chose to issue beatdowns & flee instead don't make a helluva lot of sense to me. Action packed story nonetheless
This book had me feeling some kind of way! I was cursing the characters out, wishing that my eyes moved faster so I could get to what happens next quicker, wanting to warn the characters about mistakes they were about to make, and cheering my favorites on! I felt like I was the loud person at the movies saying, "Don't go in there!" This book is what I was waiting for and now I am just a little bit drained from the ride I went on. This is a great read, and you will NOT be disappointed
I enjoyed this. I was just mad at just how naïve Jahzara actually was! Even though she constantly messed up things with Imran he was still willing to give her a chance. Honey and Quin got just what their trifling behinds deserved. I can't wait to read part 3 to see how things turn out for Rain, Imran, and Jahzara.
Good storyteller, captures your interest. I enjoy urban fiction particularly by this author. looking forward to reading more of the author. I give it 4 stars only because I have to get book 3 to know what happens in the story. Read the full story and end the suspense. 2 thumbs up for the author.
Wow! Part 2 went full speed with the action! Storyline kept the pages moving. Honey & Quin had grimey tactics trying to get money...Jah was disappointing with some of her idiotic decisions. Felt bad for Imran cause he really cared...On to part 3 to see how this turns out!
Trust trust trust plays a big role her in part 2. Jahkara has to know who to trust and what real love is or they all lose. Lots to action, drama, twist and turns to make this story a success. I was excited to read it and Ms. Shan didn't fail. Thanks for yet another good read. 5 stars
This book was so good that I read it in one day. I could not put it down. It was so much better than the first one. I just kept wondering what was going to happen next. Can't wait for part 3 to see if everyone lives.
Jahzara got on my damn nerves, she didn't know who the hell she wanted. Imran was the one the time that she should've been with but her dumb tale went back to Quin conniving ass. That damn Honey should've been in a crazy place like i said before. I really enjoyed both books.
Excellent sequel. The story continues the drama that happened between Honey and Jahzara. Tomeka is dead, and the beef between Quin and Imran is heating up. This book is packed with action and will leave you anxious for the finale part 3.
This is to much .. Jah should have not been so dumb. She had a man that wanted to marry her for who she was and she turned him down to be with a guy that did not love her at all. She was not as smart as I thought she was in the first book. Honey is crazy. What story.
This book, jus like the part 1 was awesome!! I couldn't put my Kindle down until I finished that book! Definitely a great read I would recommend to my fellow book readers....
Just started the book and I'm already excited that now we have Imran as a narrator. I'm anxious to find out if he in fact was using Jah to get back at Quin.
Excellent book!! Definite page turner. I could not put it down and I finished it in a couple of hours!! Ready for the final book!
