Okay, this is just part 1 of 9 for a short story. Seriously, this is less than 20 pages. And it just STOPS suddenly. This is more like chapter 1 of a book.
For this I will stat the same on part 2 because I feel the same for both- I feel as thought the author just sat down, typed up a few pages and submitted it to Amazon as self-published. It is very evident there has been little to no editing (with a HUGE error in part 2).
The concept might have potential but the lack of depth, combined with grammar errors and the manner in which this book is done in mini-parts left me turned off.
Part 1 here had me curious enough to try part two but that was it. To finish the story is going to cost me more than it is worth. If the entire story was free (MAYBE .99) I have enough interest to continue it but I don't feel it is worth much otherwise. Mildly entertaining with no real depth to the characters, and lack of any details. Very vaguely meshed together story from what I have read.
It was free, let me start off by saying that much, and it is a good thing it was free. For several reasons, first of all it was super short, actually one chapter. I was stunned and thought it was because I got the free version, so I checked it out online. Turns out it was because that is how the book is being sold, chapter by chapter. You would think that since I read a lot of fan fiction that would be acceptable to me. Well it isn't, money doesn't grow on trees and I can't drop down some cash each chapter. Save the chapters, publish the book all at once and charge me one price.
Second reason I didn't like it was the editing. It was terrible, there was a their, there, or they're mistake in the book, excuse me chapter. And the word vagina was used ten times within three sentences. Find another word, don't like the crass ones, I get that, but seriously call it something else to keep from being too repetitive. In my opinion, another editing mistake, someone should have caught the over use. Something I pay money for has those kinds of simple mistakes, another reason I won't put any money out for the next chapter of this book.
Lastly, the characters fell flat. Selene was going nowhere, Ethan needed the money. The conversation and interaction between them didn't make me feel for either of them. It felt rushed and boring. I felt like parts of the book had been removed and I only got part of the story, they go from meeting, her being hesitant, to her being self assured and wanting him, to meeting for dinner, to sex in a matter of a few hours. They skip the medical exam and questionnaire he requires for the contract, hell, they skip the contract all together. None of that is discussed or taken care before they have sex. (The description of the sex was plain and boring as well, I've read ten times better in fan fiction and that is free!) Then he drops the bomb on her that he is married. Yeah, sorry, but I'm out. Too many obstacles for me to overcome to be interested to read more. Thanks for the free book but no thanks!
All I can say was this happen to be free so I got it, otherwise I wouldn't have even considered buying this book. To say its crazy is an understatement. Events in this book happen so fast, before I realized it I was done reading. And don't let me start in how it ended...it left me saying WTF. The crazy thing is now I owe it to myself to read the next book (lol)
This review is two parts; the first part is about the story itself. The general idea is interesting, something that I thought I would like. The 'book' needs an editor, and I mean badly. Not only are there grammatical errors and sentence structure mistakes but the main character gets a name change halfway through--and back again.
For this I would give a rating of 1/2 OR 2 stars.
The second half is regarding the length of the story and the price. When I saw that this 'book' was less than fifty pages I was kind of appalled. This is the kind of thing you see on fan fiction sites, NOT Amazon. Then I saw that the next 'book' is $3.28 CAN, are you kidding me?!? Thankfully I received this copy free through Amazon.
For this I would give 1/2 a star.
Overall I give the 'book' 1 star. IF and only IF the rest was free or $0.99 (for the WHOLE book) I would read the rest.
***Note: This review is for the 'book' "Billion Dollar Baby", NOT "Billion Dollar Baby (Complete)"
I read the first book in this series. The book was free, and was only a few pages long. The next 8 books from the reviews I read were also short, and you had to pay for each one. In my opinion, you will spend a lot of money for a lot of short stories that should have been all put into one novel for a fair price. I will NOT be wasting my money!
Another thing that made me think twice, is that the billion hired Selene to make and have his baby, the old fashion way. After made love the first time, Selene finds out he has a wife… cheating men has always made me sick!
I bought the complete series buying book by book is not worth anyones money at 2.99 per 19 pages. At 120 app. pages this review is on the complete series. Recruited to have a baby for a billionaire for him to claim his trust, things go amuck with murder, kidnapping mobs and more. In the end happy ending.... for now.. To be continued.
This was a free book in a series about a millionaire that needs an heir to receive his trust fund. He interviews his potential surrogates and picks one. They agree to dinner so they can discuss contracts, one thing leads to another they end up in bed without an agreement established........then a wife enters the picture.
Selene is in deep money trouble when she sees an advert from a wealthy man looking for a woman to conceive his child. Curious, Selene goes for the audition and finds herself much more than professionally interested in her new boss.
Really, this should get one star. It’s pretty poorly written, with lots of clumsy sentence construction and awful grammar errors. The story, as it stands in this very short instalment, is cheesy and basically just porn. But, it made me laugh so much, I’m giving it two stars for sheer entertainment value. If you need cheering up, read this.
Selena's life is in a rut and she is in need of money. She hears about a proposition from a friend. The proposition is for a women to be willing to have a baby. Ethan is in need of a child to keep his business going, so he offered a proposition. When Selena and Ethan go to dinner she learns things Ethan didn't disclose in the interview. Kind of a tease short story. Good details, but not enough for me. I will so read more from this series and this author
So the sex scenes are well written and they get your interest. But the rest of the story is just kinda annoying. I know Ethan has some shady business dealings and something happened with his wife. But come on, move the story along already!
And learn the difference between “your” and “you’re!”
Could have been longer and slightly more story line added but a fast and sensual read. Erotic but not extremely dirty. Slightly confusing if you were the main character but every bad experience has a light at the end of the tunnel.
1 Star Ever read a book you hated? Well that's what this is for me. I hated it. Hated the way it ended. Hated so much about it. Thank God it was super short.
Romance genre: Part of a series: yes (Billionaire Breeding) Length: 43 pages
Plot: Selena needs a job, or rather, some money. She sees an ad to be a surrogate for a rich gentlemen, and she investigates. Ethan seems great, but will she be able to keep her heart separate when she is just there to be a surrogate? Also, she finds out at the end, after things seem like they might be heating up between them in a real sort of way, that he has a wife! He wants to explain, but I feel like he's no Mr. Rochester.
Character development: Not a lot of room to develop the characters, although I read many authors who can do it. Here, it seemed like one or the other of the main characters was always angry, which is kind of an odd thing between people who just met and also just agreed to have a baby (kinda) together. Honestly, the story was too short and needed an editor badly. Putting all of the story together in one volume would have allowed the author and editor to see the story development as a whole and better spot errors and places for expansion.
Grammar/formatting: many basic grammar errors, as well as story errors that would have been caught by a professional editor
Would I read more from this author/in this series: no Next book in the series:Billion Dollar Baby 2
Alright... Well... And that's about as long as the book is. Or chapter should I say. I thought I got the wrong one because it was so short, but it turns out this book is being sold chapter by chapter. Don't like that Idea at all. Just finish the book. No one wants to read a book chapter by chapter, then have to PAY for each of those chapters. Just sell the book, you'll get better results.
After that being said, the story intrigued me. I was interested in the story of a Billionaire wanting a baby for all the things tied into the clause (the reason this scored a two star instead of one) However, there were MANY mistakes in grammar. And the overuse of the word vagina. I mean I'm not a prude or anything, but how many times can you really say that word with a straight face. There are many, many other references you could use in its place.
I felt the connection in the characters was dull, and didn't have a spark to it. I do have to say, this would be a great read, if the author took some time and went back to become a little more involved with what the character and their relationships with each other, the grammar, and STOP WRITING CHAPTER BY CHAPTER! Crazy!
Unlike most of the reviews about this story, I don't have an issue with it being sold by chapters or the cost or anything like that. Amazon clearly shows the number of pages. If you don't want a short story with a cliffhanger / first part of a serial, then this isn't for you. The reasons I have rated this low is based purely on the work itself. First, the positive. The only reason I gave this two stars instead of one is there's a possibility of a good Jane Eyre type concept here. The execution of this concept, however, is poor. The pace is beyond fast, and while I understand it's a short story / serial, there are ways to make relationships written in short period of time to feel less rushed. The perspective seems to be third person limited but every once in a while, without any break to indicate a change in perspective, it switches. Another glaring error is made when, partway into it, the main character's name suddenly goes from Selene to Sloan, and then back again. If the author hired someone to flesh out the work, there is potential for at least a 4-star rating if it's written well enough.
This is a serial. I read it because it was free. But it was definitely too short. And because of that and the fact that each other segment is 2.99 I will not be reading the series. I think I would have liked it but I don't like the pricing scheme.
The storyline and the cover picture caught my attention. But as soon as I read it I was disappointed because it was so short. My first though was -- "Really that's it!" Well that was it.
You learn very little except the main character Selene is having money troubles and she has accepted an interview to have a baby for a rich man. She makes it through the first interview they go on an date and then they have sex.
There is one surprise at the end of the story that would have kept me reading but because of the pricing scheme I am not going further.
so series, not so much this is an installment book (which seems to be a trend right now)so it's really expensive if you pay for it. I was able to get it free when offered from Amazon but had I paid for it I would have been really upset. So on with the story Selene is lonely and isn't making much money so she answers an add asking for a woman to carry a baby in exchange for money. When she goes to the interview she finds Ethan a rich handsome man. The more time they spend together they realize there is something their and they both want more till*********************spoilers*****************right at the end we find out he is dun dun dun married**********************end spoilers**************** this is not my book. The book is was written well but not something I will continue on with.
After reading this short story I was left confused. It was a free download so I cant complain. But after looking into it I guess you have to buy each chapter seperate. Stupidest thing I have ever heard. Sell the book as a whole, and give a free preview.
The the only positive remark I have was I enjoyed the concept. A rich man looking to hire a baby making machine sounds interesting or an episode of the Maury show. But the characters were so flat. I wont be buying a book chapter by chapter so i guess I'll never know if the story gets better. I did want to like this. I hate giving negative reviews but it clearly was labeled as a short story, very misleading and disappointing.
Okay I'm not sure what is with all the negative reviews on this book...granted it was a little iffy for me at times, but definitely an okay book. With that said I was very upset to find that each "chapter" of this book was $2.99, that is utterly ridiculous and had I not found this in a bundle pack I probably wouldn't have even read them. As far as the book goes it was okay, would I reread it probably not, would I recommend it...maybe if I knew the person likes short stories. I really wish you could do 1/2 stars because I would rate this book between a 2.5-3.0.
Terribly cheesy storyline about a rich bloke wanting an heir and hiring an escort with a difference to provide him and then the obvious thing where they both start falling for each other. It had a daft twist at the end that actually made me roll my eyes in despair and it was basically only a chapter long with the next installments being about $3 EACH and all equally as short. I will not be buying any more.
This book was way too short for my liking. I know it is the first part of a series so the story hasn't ended, but I wanted it to be just one book. It stopped at a bit where I was thinking "What?!?!?!", and really did not need it to stop. That being said, what I read I really enjoyed. The concept of this story is interesting- a billionaire places an ad in search of a woman to have his child. I look forward to reading the rest of this series to find out what happens.
I Didn't have this On Kindle had this on Barnes and Noble Nook But it was Ok i hated the fact of how it ended....... and there is no way i'm paying 2.99 for Books 2 and 3 three to see what happens To Author 2.99 is to pricey for 17 to 20 pages of reading......... FREE i can do but not 2.99..... but i wont say tomuch when this one was free....
Was too short...lol... and the last scene... omg.... would like to read the next sections of it..appears to be a serial book....those can be pretty pricey (sorta like going to the dollar tree...everythings a dollar and then you realize on the way to the car you just dropped 30 bucks on dollar things...lol)
This book jumps right into story. It's quick but a lot of questions unanswered at end. Did like the story till wife came into it. This story was FREE off amazon which is reason I got it but I don't think the story is enough for me to pay a ridiculous price of £2.12 for next book which again is only 42pg long.
This novella was getting to the good part and it stops. There is several other parts to this series, nine in all I believe. I would love to finish the series because this books is written very well, but I can't afford to! Makes me disappointed!
This is an ok book if you are willing to spend $3 + tax every 17 pages or so. Sadly I bought 3 of them before i realized this fact. I know I should have seen it sooner. Oh well. Just so you know there are 9 of these 17+/- page sections
I've set this book (from other reviews, I see that what I've read is only the first chapter, which I downloaded for free) on my romance shelf, but I don't think it classifies. What I read was incomplete, fast-paced, and cheap.
