The Galactic Avenger!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💚🖤💙💜❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌍
Character development: 😟😒😚😉🥰

The heroine: Olivia - sold by her mother to aliens years ago, she is a con artist and thief. She spent years being trained by her benefactor to end up where she was, on the auction block being sold for a huge amount.

The Hero: Makl - known as the galactic avenger, he is the younger cousin of Tren, Jaro and Xarn from the first three books. He is determined to make his mark in mercenary history. He takes on huge and dangerous jobs and has had his portrait taken by a famous photographer to be used on his own wanted posters. He is intent on becoming the most famous and courageous merc in the galaxies like his cousins were before they retired.

The Story: Makl is trying to take on bigger and more treacherous jobs to build his name in the galaxies when he gets a call from his aunt asking him to go to Earth and abduct a human to act as nanny to his cousin Tren’s baby. He doesn’t want to take the job, but family is family and he has no choice. So when he sees a human female for sale at a slave auction at the black market on a planet that didn’t exist. He is determined to abduct her and save himself the long voyage to Earth.

The book is told in dual points of view via dual narration. Like the first three books in this series, the narrators are J.F. Harding and Holly Chandler. I didn’t like them that much at first but since binging this series over the last few days, they have grown on me quite a bit and I really enjoy them now. The story in this one was pretty good as well!

Makl, like his cousins seems to be plagued by the God, Murphy (otherwise known as Loki, and a few other names). Murphy, who happens to be the adopted uncle of Olivia. When Murphy is around, whatever can go wrong often does. This made for quite an adventure and a funny story as well. Though Makl had the God Karma on his side, which was also pretty great.

Mercenary Abduction is book four in the Alien Abduction series by Eve Langlais.

It’s another fun read in the series and one you can read after Accidental Abduction. Why after the first book, well because our hero Makl is sent on an errand for his family to bring back a human nanny for our couple from book one.

Our heroine Olivia has been in space for years now. She’s a con-artist and thef.

Makl and Olivia’s plans don’t go as planned and they both end up in jail together. I laughed a lot in this novel. What these two do to get out, oh my!. They end up teaming up to scam and do hists all over the galaxy on their way to his cousins place. He still needs to bring back a nanny. The banter was a lot fun and I loved all the fun they had on their way to his family.

We are also introduced to a new character, Ifruum, a shaggy dog like creature, though that’s not who he really is. All I can say is I loved the twist of who he is and the description of him reminded me of Barf from Spaceballs.

Mercenary Abduction adds new characters, fun twists, sexy alien romance, and more. I had a lot of fun with this story.

Mercenary Abduction by Eve Langlais

A blast of a good time. A purple mercenary and a barbarian female human. Lots of frisky sex. Adventurous with heists, aliens and more sex. All on the way to dropping her off with his family to be a nanny. Maybe. Except they were having such a good time together.

Laugh out loud sarcasm and quips.
“Scaling the black glass building, the best color for blending in. Slimming too.”
Hahaaah. The building is slimming!

I’m so amused by the author and this series.
I listened to an audio version with two different narrators, male and female, with them often changing their tone to affect an opposite gender voice. It was amusing and didn’t take away from the story.

I went into this book with no previous experience with this series, but with a WHOLE lot of love for her others. I think I have actually found a new favorite in one lovable, purple, arrogant, and dangerously sexy alien. Makl is everything an alpha should be and comes in one of my favorite colors. What could be more awesome then that? We start off with one super-arrogant mercenary, hard-core trained, and dying to stand out from the rest of the family. He lives and breaths by his Mercenary's Handbook but defiantly meets his match in one innocently trussed up human woman that looks to need rescuing. But when the tables are turned on this cocky, yet adorably sexy mercenary, he vows to have his revenge. He is unprepared for the journey that this leads him on and how much he stands to loose......or gain.

I have to admit, I fell a little in love Makl myself when he was on his quest to figuring out his feelings for Oliva. You actually get to witness the fall of this loner male and at times it is literally laugh out loud funny. The dialogue between the two is witty, and its easy to see from the beginning they belong together. I even teared up at the end...and I won't tell you why!!! This was a fun little jaunt into the Mercenary's realm. I really want to go back and read the the first 3 books! If the other purple hotties are anything like Makl, I know the series is definitely going to rock it. I haven't read any of this series and had no problem following along! And Murphy and Karma in this book? Loved the concept!! This author truly has a way of sculpting an incredibly entertaining read that will have you wrapped up and wishing it would never end!! Excellent Read with some definite HOT sex scenes!!

I have never read a Langalis novel, in fact, when I got this I had no idea this was book 4 of the series. I can honestly say, you don't need to have any knowledge of the series to follow along and I'll also note, that I didn't hold out a lot of hope that I'd fall in love with it. I just thought it would be a cute story in between stories. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. This story was hilarious and sexy, and to make me love a purple skinned alien with shark type teeth, yeah... the author had a lot of convincing to do. I loved this. It tickled every single funny bone in my body, I felt the heat and electricity between the H/h and am now going to buy the rest of the series.

5 big stars for Barney! :p

Ahahahaha that was awesome!!! It was vastly amusing. I really appreciated Makl's ManicPixieDreamBOYishness. The ending had... stupid moments, not stupid funny, just stupid stupid. Also there WAS A TYPO IN THE MOST IMPORTANT PART. I don't want to be distracted during the emotional payoff of the whole book!! Grrrr... Still great though!

What a pleasant surprise. I loved that this book didn't have insta-love. The plot was not only fun but fast paced. The characters were irresistible. Great read. best in series so far.

Readers were barely given an introduction to Makl at the end of Dual Abduction. His family has tasked him with getting Tren and Megan a nanny. Tren and Megan are the couple from Accidental Abduction. That being said you can easily jump into Eve’s world of sexy purple alien love with this book and not be lost or confused. Each book in this series works as a stand alone.

Makl is trying to make a name for himself in the world of bloodthirsty acquisitionist specialist mercenary for hire. Things are not going as he would like. Fate, Karma, and Murphy's Law are kicking his ass. His nanny task is degrading as far as he is concerned. It is a wound to his epic sized ego. Luck is seemingly on his side when he finds a human female at a slave auction. Her resume has some attributes that he thinks will benefit him more than his cousin. Makl soon sees a win win for all.

Olivia is not at all what she seems. The only thing that Makl has guessed correctly about her is the fact that she is a human female. What Makl thinks is a rescue mission that will leave her forever in his debts is actually the spoiling of a well placed plan. Olivia has several huge things in common with Makl, Fate, Karma, and Murphy’s law. These three factors are influencing Olivia more than she guessed.

Makl keeps you snorting. His ego, oh my, it is bigger than all of the galaxies he has ever traveled. It is impossible to insult this big purple alien. Olivia soon finds that out as all of her brush offs are tossed aside as Makl goes after what he wants. Today he wants the tiny human barbarian, before he has to drop her off for her new nannying gig of course. Their banter and evasion techniques will keep the pages flashing by.

Langlais yet again puts pen to paper to create a story that I won’t soon forget. She took me out of this world with her vividly visual descriptions and endlessly entertaining plot. This novel is fast paced and action packed. I love Langlais’ character names. They’re definitely unique but still easy to remember and say. The alien names definitely stand out from the much more standard human names that she uses.

The banter and squabbling between Makl and Olivia was the focal point of their relationship and lots of fun to watch. Not only did it add to the story, but the characters revealed a lot about themselves and each other through it. I loved Makl and how he lived by the mercenary rules, even stating them to himself when they were relevant. It not only gave a peek into his overly rigid personality, bent on being the best, but also what it means to be a mercenary universe-wide. Rule #5 was expecially comical. I enjoyed finding out what it means to be successful in Makl’s mercenary family and the fact that even above that, family means everything.

The way that she develops Murphy is priceless. He adds to much to the story and definitely some comical moments too. The mysteriousness of who and what he is, combined with the real repercussions of getting on his wrong side was fantastic. The implications of Murphy’s Law are endless. Ifruum was also a peach. His knowledge and know it all personality really endeared me to him.

This novel was definitely a welcome addition to Langlais’ Alien Abduction series. She continues to develop the world and culture of her chosen aliens while also entertaining readers with an adventurous, fast paced, spicy story.

Ha! I always end up so entertained by these books. I mean, purple alien badass meets human woman who isn't afraid to challenge him. Sparks fly! Clothing gets divested! Naked times happen! Oh, and a lot of people end of dying. Because, you know, that's what purple alien badasses do.

What did I love about this particular installment? Makl might seem like a big, dumb brute but he has a quick mind and an unquenchable thirst for danger. He's hilarious. I really, really, REALLY can't stop laughing at both his antics and his reasoning behind why he should be doing certain things - such as, having sex often is vital to mercenaries because it keeps them clear-headed. *laughs* Yep, that's right, he needs to have sex so that he stays on task during heists. Really, how can you argue with that?

While Makl likes the danger and bloodshed, Olivia's not so keep on that. But for her big, purple hunk, she's willing to give them both a try. The mind-blowing sex after (adrenaline high, people. Adrenaline high.) helps keep her in the game. Those two are just so cute together.

This series is fun and this installment doesn't disappoint. Big, purple, and alien. Probing never looked so good!

Eve has done it again!!! This was another great trip into space with a hotter than hot purple alien who finds love with a barbarian human.

Eve's unique brand of humor, thrills and sensuality brings Makl and Olivia's story to life! I simply could not put this book down!

This is book four in the alien abduction series. This was the funniest book by far in the series. This is the story of a mercenary who is sent to find a nanny for his cousin's screaming baby. She is on an auction block on a planet that "does not exist". She is a scam artist but he has to figure that out. After many adventures and lots of laughs you have to see how this book ends. I can't wait for the next one they are getting funnier and funnier as I go.

There were so many things that I enjoyed about this book. I was laughing out loud from the start of the book.

Makl is a mercenary who is feared by many, but he can't refuse to run an errand for his aunt to find a human nanny for his cousin's son. While on the errand he meets Olivia. He thinks that he is saving her, but it turns out that she doesn't need saving at all.

Olivia is a strong and capable woman. Makl is a little surprised when he goes to rescue her and she takes him down instead. She scolds him for messing with her plans. It's one of my favorite parts of the book.

This book has great characters and it's a fun story.

Makl and Olivia were made for each other. I thought they were funny and sexy and could totally outsmart the people they were conning, and kick their ass.

I love that Makl treated Mercenary’s Guide to Prosperity like it was the gospel, and didn't know what to do when he had to deal with all that was Olivia and how she made him feel because the book didn't have anything about that.

They both spent so much time denying they needed anyone that they didn't realize they fell in love with each other.

You can't go wrong with one of Eve Langlais's purple alien hunks stories.

Once again we're off on a ride with our favorite purple mercenary. This time we're introduced to Makl, the not quite as famous cousin who is taking advantage of the void the other purple dudes have left behind after finding their human mates and settling down.

Makl goes after a higher kill-count and acquisition specialist notoriety - oh, and the bothersome task of picking up a human nanny for his infamous cousin Tren. How delightful is it that the barbarian he acquires is just as light-fingered, although a bit on the squeamish side, unlike blood-and-gore loving Makl.

Unfortunately, his human is not interested in nanny duties and does her best to get them into trouble. After all; Murphy's law states that if anything can go wrong, it will. Ah yes, did I mention that Olivia's been adopted by Murphy. (Yes, that Murphy)

I loved both Makl and Olivia. Makl was such a cocky alpha, it was cute the way he tried to fight his feelings for Olivia and how he was never able to hold out for long. Makl might be a ruthless killer, but Eve always manages to make me root for her purples who fall head over heels for their chosen human females.

I had forgotten how riduculous these books are. In a good way, EL always makes her books fun to read. I really liked how Makhl and Olivia fought so much. I also love Murphy and wish we had seen more of Karma. My only complaint was I would have like them to track down her siblings (probably improbable I know but still would have been nice). Still another good story.

Great story! Loved the action scenes! This story is of the cousin to Tren, who is a striving mercenary, Makl. He wants a name for himself and a reputation that will surpass his cousin Tren’s. This book took on a different tone then the previous “Alien Abduction”books of this series. More fight scenes.
I liked the new characters and the many additions of alien tech. My favorite, was the cape. I wish I had one. (Giggles). I mean, if I am reading an Alien book I want alien weapons and their weirdness to seem like normal. I am so enjoying this Crazy Nonsense, series and colorful characters. Each book surprises me with how much I really like reading about how this super race of beings live life, have fun and find love.

Makl is determined to surpass his cousins but has a long ways to go. When he gets a call from his aunt to get a human female nanny and deliver her to Tren and his mate, Makl knows he has to obey. He sees Olivia being auctioned off as a certified virgin and plans to steal her to be the nanny. Little does he know, she works with Murphy, disguised of course, and has both Murphy and Karma as her uncle and aunt. With a little bit of jailbreak and more crimes, they end up falling in love which was Murphy's plan all along. It is a nice blend of humor and action, a great read in all.

Like watching two teens fighting. DNF. Ridiculous really. I loved Tren’s story. That story held actual banter. This was childish. Eight chapters in and I’d had enough. There really isn’t a story. Just back and forth drivel. If there is a story, I don’t care enough to continue. Very disappointed. Two stars is generous. It did start out good. Down hill after the first few chapters.

(Makl & Olivia): cousin to Tren, Makl is sent to find a nanny for Tren's newborn baby. He comes across Olivia and her companion while they are trying to rob credits from someone. These two fight like cats and dogs but he's determined to take her to Tren. These two agree extremely hot and become like Bonnie and Clyde of space. It was a good ending to the box set.

It's been a lot of years since I read the first 3 books, but I remember being way more into them back then. It wasn't necessarily a bad book, maybe just not to my tastes anymore. And I'm not even sure why that is, because I love PNR, the banter was great, and the characters were fun. But something about all of it just didn't work for me.

Too funny!

Book is light hearted, romantic, over the top and sexy. Loved the H/h and the way they interacted. The relationship between the two is just too funny. I have enjoyed all the books in this series and will continue to read on. Thanks Eve!
