Uno por uno, los niños del campamento van recibiendo un misterioso poema que los describe. Don Jacobo, el intendente, reúne todas las notas, y comienza así una divertida investigación para descubrir quién es ese autor que tan bien parece conocerlos. En los años 50, un joven tímido e invisible a los ojos del mundo lucha por hacerse ver y encontrar un lugar entre sus compañeros.

About the author

Benjamin was born in Paris in 1982.
In 2001, he attended the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs of Paris (ENSAD) where he pursued his artistic education. In addition to his studies, he worked as an advertising and animated movie artist before completing his first comic series at the age of 19, along with a few other illustrated books…
His final project « Cherry and Olive », , which he has both written and illustrated, became his first children’s book and was published by Les Éditions du Seuil in March 2006. The following year, it was released by Walker Books (USA) and nominated one of the top 10 children’s books for the year 2007 in the U.S.A. by the prestigious weekly news magazine Time.
Since then, Benjamin has written and illustrated numerous books. He has notably worked with Albin Michel, Barefoot Books (USA), Edelvives (Spain), Hemingway Korea (Korea), Milan, MaxMilo, Sarbacane, Soleil, Walker Books (USA) and of course Le Seuil Jeunesse, the publishing house which has issued most of his books.
Benjamin exhibits his work on a regular basis. Among others, it has been displayed in the following art galleries: Ad Hoc Art (New York),L’art de rien (Paris), Dorothy Circus (Rome), Maruzen (Tokyo), etc...
Benjamin lives and works in Paris with his dog Virgile.

Un bonito cuento corto de 40 páginas, bellamente ilustrado.

Me encanta cuando colaboran Benjamín Lacombe y Sebastien Pérez porque verdaderamente hacen libros preciosos.

Prachtig geïllustreerd en poëtisch (tja, 't gaat over een dichter) prentenboek.

Op een zomerkamp duiken steeds weer gedichten op over de aanwezigen, soms grappig, soms scherp, altijd speels.

Benjamin Lacombe vertelt aan de hand daarvan een melancholisch verhaal over onopvallend zijn en toch talent hebben, over je plaats vinden.
De boeken van Lacombe hebben dikwijls een iets zwaardere thematiek dan het gemiddelde prentenboek en zijn wat melancholischer van sfeer. Dat maakt ze - zeker voor de volwassen lezer - erg mooi. Ze lijken ietwat minder geschikt voor de allerkleinsten, maar thuis zijn er over Nachtegaal nooit klachten gekomen ;)

Cómo alguien que es amante de los libros infantiles (y del arte de Benjamin Lacombe) debo decir que el libro me gustó mucho. Es muy corto, porque es para niños, pero da un mensaje muy importante y muy bonito: la importancia de la amistad en la niñez. Las ilustraciones son preciosas, aunque puede ser que no sean del gusto de todo el mundo. La edición que yo tengo es de muy buena calidad, así que considero que vale la pena invertir en este libro en físico.

Un libro (y digo libro) precioso, horizontal como sus paisajes (una playa, la casa, el valle). Una historia preciosa sobre la búsqueda misteriosa por la poesía, sobre un pájaro, los niños. Y las ilustraciones magníficas de Benjamin Lacombe.

From August 2011—A beautifully designed book with stunning illustrations by Benjamin Lacombe. The story is about a little boy who, feeling lonely, starts writing bits of poetry for each individual in a crowd of children who frequent the park he likes to go to.

Cuento corto y sencillo, pero que nos habla de un tema muy importante: la necesidad de los seres humanos de tener amigos.

Linda historia, hermosas ilustraciones.
Si miramos las imágenes, vemos al grupo de niños en cada ilustración, pero si miramos más a fondo y con más detención, siempre veremos al Ruiseñor en algún rincón, observándolos. Es la magia de éste libro. Cualquiera que se haya sentido intimidado de mostrar quién es ante el mundo va a verse reflejado en la historia de Ruiseñor.

Como todo trabajo de Lacombe y Perez juntos, este libro merece detenidas lecturas y miradas. Los libros álbum tienen esa magia que te permite contar una historia de más de una forma, y mientras las palabras nos muestran un grupo de niños, las ilustraciones nos sugieren la tímida aparición del Ruiseñor, desde que comienza y en cada rincón. Cualquiera que se haya sentido intimidado de mostrar quién es ante el mundo va a verse reflejado en la historia de Ruiseñor.

Chaque fois que je croise une librairie et que j'aperçois la couverture colorée d'un livre pour enfant, c'est fatal : il faut absolument que je m'arrête. Ce livre ne fait pas exception. C’est un petit trésor d’enfance que je cache dans ma bibliothèque.
